George's Kitchen reviews
19I wasn't impressed. The was basic and a little salty and for some reason covers in stale fries. The staff all looked like they would rather be somewhere else. I could have gone to a chain and got the same service and food. Not good for a local spot. I'll pass next time
Food is phoned in. The ingredents are store bought, mass produced junk. Non of it is ‘real food’ made ‘in house’. I can do much better buying from Amazon Prime. Seriously.
That being said the restaurant was clean, comfortable, and the service was friendly and fast.
But again, the food was simply not real.
First time there and the food was delicious.
Beef kabobs were yummy. Salad yum. Pita and hummus. Magnificent.
The food prices don’t reflect the food. They put a ton of bread, pita, fries on every appetizer, or entree etc just to raise the price… I don’t want all this bread.jeez.
Food are great, but it's on the pricier side.great nuance in the restaurant though, definitely a place to hang out (or catch up).
George's is in my top fav of restaurants. Whenever I try to eat Greek somewhere else it never compares. George's is the best! The food is QUALITY!
Exceptional Greek restaurant! My favorite is the jalapeño salad with their fresh feta! Nice biance with a clean, fresh feel for the win.
Let me start by saying the food is good, not great, just good. Don’t let the word “platter” on the Greek Platter fool you, it just a plate of food that is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. On my most recent visit my “platter” consisted of 3 small pieces of chicken on a kabob, reheated gyro meat that was now crispy and a piece of spinach pie that was borderline burned. Our bill was $75+ for 2 people and there was no alcohol ordered. Mind you, this is a self serve restaurant, there is no wait staff (order at the register, get your own drinks and wait for your food) I think the owner should review some of the comments and reevaluate his menu and pricing.
We like to go for their lunch special. It can be a little pricey for an order at the counter place but the food is excellent and staff are very friendly. We typically get takeout but decided to stay and eat. Very enjoyable atmosphere. Their Greek salad with gyro is the best I've ever had.
I was disappointed. Had just gotten off the plane and wanted Greek food before heading home. George's is expensive. The meal doesn't come with a drink. When I tried to order a gyro salad, they tried to charge me almost 20 for a salad. A salad. Im always looking for new restaurants to add to my list and this will not be one. The only reason I stayed was I needed to eat and time was up on my pet sitter.
First off, I would like to mention the quality of the food was pretty decent, so no complaints there. The big disappointment is really related to the cost, especially related to the entree. We got a gyro and some fries for $15, which wasn’t a terrible price, but still a little elevated with all things considered. But the Kebab entree…Geez! Came out to $26! For 2 chicken skewers, a small bed of rice and a small bowl of veggies and soup. We were expecting a ton of food for $26 but got what would amount to a $15 plate anywhere else. The food is fine but it was $40 for a gyro, fries and a basic entree. I know everything is getting more expensive but if you’re looking for value and quality, look elsewhere.
What a beautiful dining experience. Customer service was wonderful and the food was divine. I had the gyro pita with fries, I’d share a photo, however I ate it before I got the chance to take a picture. Everything was seasoned perfectly and topped it all off with a beautiful dessert. Oh, and it’s a family own and operated business! If you’re in the area, definitely come here.
Great local restaurant! Takeout is always fast and very tasty. Staff is super friendly. Could you find a cheaper place? Of course. But we’re happy to support this business. Highly recommend!
Called and ordered the Greek (gyro) fries for takeout for lunch, called them the wrong thing, but the lady taking my ordered helped me out and was super sweet when I went to pick them up. She even let me try the baklava! The Greek fries were awesome and I'll definitely be back!
Good but not great. Had takeout … fast service. When got home was surprised at how small the Greek Platter was for $25. The Greek fries were tasty but the steak pita was mainly fatty steak. Tzatziki had way too much garlic in it.
All in all 3 stars.
Great Quality and Affordable. I've been getting lunch here at least once a week for a while. The salads are always on point.
First time in and their chicken pita was pretty good! I’ll be back in when I’m in the area! Plus it was a lunch special!
They’re right, it’s a tad pricey but it’s all about that QUALITY. Everything is delicious but the feta is out of this world! Fresh & delicious. Some of the best Med food in Phoenix?
Pricey, but the food is good.
Ordered the Greek Platter
SPANAKOPITA inside spinach was cold,
Chicken skewer was cooked right and wasn’t dry.
Gyro meat tasted like it was thrown back on the grill instead of cut fresh.
Greek salad (big portion) and rice were good.
Overall it was good but could’ve been better at $27
including drink
