Gilbert Ortega Native American Galleries reviews
15 Wow! Yes beautiful store but refuse to support someone as hateful as this owner. Viral videos of him mocking Native Americans and their culture while profiting off of it! I’ll gladly go to another shop as there are several in the area.
Ironic how some things never change.
The owner of this store hates the peoples whose art he claims to sell. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE. You can bet his items are as corrupt and phony as he is.
I could spend the whole day there and not see the same thing twice. What a beautiful shop, full of authentic Native American handmade jewelry and everything else you could possibly imagine. Something for everyone.
There was so much to look at, everything was so beautiful it was so difficult to make a decision but the sales woman let me look at my leisure and did a good job helping me decide. She was very knowledgeable
Nice native made items, but buy from local tribes, the owner of this store has zero respect for native people, undeserving of being on dene land- go somewhere else please
Great place to shop for anything western/ Native American. Bought a ring today and am extremely pleased. Candee the salesperson was very helpful, we will be back again, thanks!
The 4th generation of Gilbert Ortega’s Indian trader. This store has so many Native American heritage products. A must visit store if you’re in old town Scottsdale.
A BUSINESS THAT DISRESPECTS AND MOCKS NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURE
From today's event our tribe was being filmed by ESPN. Yet this man was mocking our songs, traditional dancers and language. Why support a business that sells Native American jewelry alongside disrespecting the culture? You use our image and representation for money. What a joke.
By the way, the video is going viral
DO NOT buy from this store. Gilbert Ortega Jr has been seen on video in front of his store on a racist rant, mocking native Americans.
Visiting a friend in Arizona I didn't want to leave until I came to an authentic Native Indigenous store. The items were breathtaking to say the least. The host was knowledgeable and extremely friendly. This is the store to visit
The owner profits off of indigenous art and jewelry yet he mocks indigenous people and calls them racial slurs. There are videos online of him doing so. Do not patronize this business.
I came here and the owner gilbert started to call me racial slurs because i’m an indian, he told me to get out and to crawl back to my teepee. VERY RACIST especially for a shop that profits off native arts& crafts
There are other options. Please support local businesses who truly support AZ natives/locals.
Great place to visit. Nice things to buy. Beautiful scenery! I been here many times! Love it!
Though the staff themselves are amazing, knowledgeable, and kind. The owner himself is unkind to indigenous cultures. There are other shops owned by natives. The greatest protest for change is our pocket books. I for one will no longer support this company. Check out what the owner did during super bowl week here in Arizona before you do here.
