Dr Swain and his staff has allowed me to be more comfortable going to the dentist. They all are the greatest people and Dr Swain is very kind and Professional.

Dr. Swain and his staff have been excellent to work with. We have been going to them for years. All of my life I have struggled with fear of going to the dentist. Dr. Swain and his staff have made me feel comfortable and confident about my dental care. I would recommend them to anyone including people who have feared dentists in the past. They are wonderful people and truly care about you.

I have been going to Gilbert smiles for years now and have never had any issues until i had a very unprofessional experience today with the front office staff.
Years ago i chipped the bottom half of both my front teeth in an accident. Dr Swain did amazing work fixing it at that time. Less then 2 months ago i chipped my filling on my front tooth, got it fixed, paid over $500 to get it fixed. Well last week the corner of the SAME filling that was JUST DONE chipped again. I wasnt expecting it to be free even though it should of been warrantied but i was not expecting to pay more then the cost of a small filling price. Today was my appointment to get it fixed, it was so small I didn’t need numbing cream or a shot this time and wasnt sensitive at all. Just the corner had a small chip not a big deal just wanted it fixed. Again, the dr did amazing work like i said before. Ive been a cash paying patient for the last year and a half and they never told me the cost of anything prior to doing the service today and since it was the same filling they just did for all i knew they were counting it as warranty work. Didnt say xrays or an exam were additional or even how much the filling was (i understand they arent free but i wasnt expecting to pay over $200 for a few second exam) When i went to checkout for the service after it was done I was told it would be over $500.i had asked the check out lady why so much? An she said because of the exam and x-rays plus the filling. I asked for the exam & xrays to be taken off that was over $200 and all they said they could take off was the $35 xrays or 5% ($25 off) Im grateful they took the xrays off but extremely disappointed they couldnt work with me on crediting the exam at the very least since it was the same filling they just fixed, i was cash paying & have been a loyal patient all these years. I understand they are a business and have to make money, i wasnt expecting free work but definitely not anywhere near $500+. They were not upfront with the cost of xrays or exam and didnt tell me the cost till it was already done and time to pay. Like i said before ive been going here for years an havent had any issues until recently when the new owners bought the practice. Since the new owners the front office has been completely unorganized, they cant even address you by your name correctly, i was called a different name this visit and my last visit. My mom has had issues with them losing her card information, calling her a different name, reading off a different patients chart to her as well and now having issues like this. Its gone completely down hill on the front office side. Im not gonna stress enough Dr. Swain does fantastic work! But their new office owner is awful. The ladies before the new office owner were there for years an made it feel more like family and a strong team and would go above and beyond in situations like this! The new office has really made me feel like they dont care about the long term customers Dr. Swain has built, they just care about the money. Its sad to see such a good office go down hill so fast.

Dr Swain and Stacy are just the best. You will not find another Dr. That is as knowledgeable as him and another hygienist that is as good as she is. I love this team.

UPDATE: Aug 2022 I have been going here for a little while now and Dr. Swain and his staff are truly the best. If you want to be taken care of by the best dentist come to this office. Dr Swain has received awards for best dentist since like 2012 or earlier. He and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and really just do a top-notch job.

This is my first visit at Gilbert Smiles and I have to say that I have never been to a practice that is this friendly, courteous, professional and just all around amazing! From the greeting to the end I can't say how great this office is run. It is immaculate, organized and has state of the art equipment. Krystal took my Xrays and she couldn't have been more nice and a true pleasure to talk to. Stacy did my cleaning and she is awesome! Dr. Swain is so knowledgeable, very detail oriented, thorough and personable. I am SO happy that I am now a client of theirs as I feel that I am getting the best care in AZ! Thank you so much to everyone!
