Gracie Barra Flagstaff Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense

I attended a free class (for first time participants) during the midday. Everyone was friendly and supportive.
Decent mat area and good instruction.

GB Flagstaff Jiu Jitsu is awesome. They are welcoming and accommodating, creating a really great environment to learn and play. Since the beginning of summer I have lost over 30 lbs by regularly going to class and sparring/wrestling afterwards (it is good exercise but is fun so I can keep it up over time). The instructors at GB Flagstaff really know their stuff so you get to learn from true experts every class.

This place has changed my life. Changed the way I think about life. Changed the way I approach life. And has been a conductor for healing in my heart. I would recommend this Jiu Jitsu to all ages, female or male. Thank Professor Max, big and little for your discipline and training and care. I truely appreciate you.

After thinking about joining a jiujitsu gym for a couple months, joining this gym has been a great experience! They’ve been super welcoming and I’ve had such a fun time so far.

The instructors at this school are kind, informative, and hilarious. With their continuous onslaught of stories that help get their point across and their immense professionalism, they make this gym a place that no child or adult wants to leave once they get there. When you join, you not only join a gym but a community and a family, which makes it all the more fun. I highly recommend this gym for anyone who wants to take the first step into the world of martial arts.

As a veteran, JiuJitsu has always interested me. I came to the GB family back in January 2021 and have not regretted it. I have trained in several other states while traveling and been accepted on the GB mat anywhere I go. I have no problem with the uniform dress code for GB as I was in the military. The quality of training and gi is on par with JiuJitsu standards anywhere you go. Sure, sometimes you can find a “good deal, ” but most of the time “you get what you pay for! ” Oss!

I’ve been coming here for just about a year now. Sure there are many options when it comes to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Flagstaff and I have gone around and checked out other gyms none of them come close to the quality instruction you receive at Gracie Barra Flagstaff. If you are looking for a place to learn how to defend yourself this is where you should look.

My son has been in the kids class for 4 months now and he LOVES it! The coaches are great with the kids and everyone is very friendly, approachable, and helpful. Highly recommend!

I am one month into Jiu jitsu and based off the atmosphere at GB Flagstaff it has caused me to fall in love with the sport. Both professor are extremely passionate and talented. The culture that has been created here is something special, it is the most positive group of athletes I have ever spent time around not to mention the level of coaching you receive in any of the classes is phenomenal. I truly can not express how happy I am that I signed up. I have been going here for 2 weeks and I’m blown away by how welcoming everyone here is. I was apart of the family from day 1. They go at your pace and do it very safely. No one there is trying to hurt you. The higher belts are super helpful and don’t pick on you for being new. I’m a slow learner and they have worked with me and Iv come way further then I thought I would in just 2 weeks. As stated above. I’m totally blown away by how great the owners are. They 100% are not in this for the money. They do this because they love it. They were able to work with me on money while I was waiting on my paychecks to come in from work and for me to get money together after moving here. I thought that was the coolest thing. I highly recommend coming and checking this out. You won’t find a better place for self defense.

This is a great place to start and continue learning jiu jitsu. They emphasize self defense and mastering basic jiu jitsu moves in the beginner classes and also train for sport jiu jitsu and tournaments in the advanced classes. It is a safe environment to learn in and new team members are made welcome.

I just recently started doing jui-jitsu and I already feel very welcomed and am really enjoying it. The coaches and professor seem happy to help me as a beginner. Would definitely recommend

For a guy starting Jiu Jitsu in his late 40s, couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere. Non threatening, friendly, safe, and welcoming environment. Great instructors that are determined to help you grow not only as a martial artist, but as a person.

Great culture and facility paired with friendly and experienced instructors makes this the best Jiu Jitsu club in Flagstaff by far.
