Green Valley Bike Hub reviews
12I took my Giant city bike to Bike Hub for a long needed tune-up. Rob told me that I ride it too hard, which will shorten the life of some of the components. He had to replace more than I thought he would, and since it was a slow decline, I really didn't notice how bad it was until I rode it for the first time after the repairs were done. My bike rides AWESOME now! Better than I actually remember it ever riding, even new. The shifts are positive and engage perfectly. The noise is gone. It rides quiet and true, everything now works as it should and maybe it's my imagination but it seems to ride easier. I'm still going to ride this thing hard, but my tune-up visits will likely be more frequent now.
Rob and Tiffany have always been more then helpful. We have purchased 4 high end bikes from them and they have always taken care of us. I could not ask for more.
Nice local bike shop. Sells Specialized. I stopped in to have an inner tube replaced. Bike Hub did a nice job and it had most anything you might need, bike-wise.
Refused to work on my bike because it was purchased direct from the manufacturer although they had repaired a flat for me a few weeks before and asked what bike it was from then. If bicycle shops are anything like motorcycle shops they make their money from service, not sales. Lots of rave reviews which is why I went there to begin with but I guess I'm not welcome.
Response. I vilified no one, just stated a fact. My bike is a 1 1/2 years old and has been serviced regularly by a professional shop in Redmond Oregon so there is no issue with poor initial setup. You wouldn't know that since you didn't ask, just assumed.
Purchased my bike from Bike Hub. In my opinion they are the best! I will only take my bike there for servicing. Definitely 5 stars for Rob and Tiffany, the owners.
If you’re white, you’ll get great service. If you’re not you won’t. Pretty straightforward.
Went to a couple bike shops in search of a knowledgeable BMX mechanic. Rob earned my business and took time to educate me on what I had going on between my 2 bmx bikes. I left my frame for a build, ill add some photos when done. I've never left a project in someone else's hands but I appreciate Robs knowledge to connect what I had with where I was going. Super excited!
I brought Rob a nightmare of a custom trike that needed an engineering degree to figure out. He took a chance, got my bike running and shared knowledge with me as well. He did a fantastic job for a very reasonable price. He and his wife have been great to me throughout the years. Highly recommended bike shop if you want great work by knowledgeable mechanics.
Firstly, I've got to contradict every last reviewer who reports having received "attitude" for any reason. Both owners were nothing but knowledgable and generous with their time.
I had come in unannounced without an appointment or even a call to have my bike looked at after another local shop had "repaired" it and "tuned" it only days before I met Rob.first ride after that service the derailleur cable ripped out of the clamp and was so shredded I knew it should have been replaced and I knew I had paid for shoddy service. I explained to Rob I was getting back into cycling after a hiatus due to some injuries and was interested to upgrade AFTER this season, so I just wanted my current bike rideable. He was understanding about my needs, and had my bike ready the next day. Not only did he replace the front derailleur cable and adjust it, he identified a bent rear hanger and a poorly adjusted rear derailleur as well. He fixed that (should have been fixed with the original service in my opinion) and made some minor adjustments to brakes and chain as well. All in all, the old bike rides pretty well after Rob tuned it. The cost out the door was half what I paid just a few days prior to have (comparatively) nothing done to my bike.
Rob also took the time to interact with my toddler and let her look at some kid's bikes, ride some, and make her feel welcome too. He also talked with me about her needs as she grows into her first 2 wheeler. Not once was anyone in the shop rude dismissive, or disinterested in my needs.
We also talked a bit about how I might benefit from more relaxed geometry as I'm getting older, not younger. He showed me some bikes, answered some questions but never made me feel like he was upsetting me into a new bike.
He listened and took a genuine interest in my immediate needs while also helping me plan for future investments.
If you're interested in a good shop with a good mechanic and a shop that genuinely cares about your personal cycling needs, give this place a try and ignore the handful if negative reviews. 20+ years riding and never met a kinder more competent owner.
Thank you for the excellent professional service. After dealing with another bike repair place you were hands down the best.
Went to ask about extending the handlebar adjustment and see if we could make an appointment for install as Rob made our bikes usable again last year with tune ups and some suggestions for different ergonomics. Rather than an appointment they found the part we needed and told us to come back right before close (in 25 minutes). The bike had the new part (and one other I asked about) mounted and ready to go. When we met Rob one of the first thing he said to us was "These bikes are completely wrong for you" and he was right. I would have very easily spent a grand or so getting the right ones for us, but he took the time to explain the issues he saw, and then presented options to transform our trek bikes into what we needed at 20% the cost of new. He made sure with the work there was room to adjust further (which we just did on one). We went from a grands worth of bicycles hanging in the garage to riding every weekend. I cannot thank Rob enough for making it possible for us to get back on the bikes. Last weekend 15 miles on the loop and getting better every week!
