Heldt Lumber is great. We order building materials there regularly and they always make haste in getting us great materials. We’ve been buying there for over 10 years and they’ve always been great to work with.

Never ordering from this place again. It seemed like all the lumber I got was the rejected pieces. They were twisted, uneven, dented, cracks everywhere. Very, very poor quality. The only reason i had it delivered is because i don’t have a trailer. I wish I could get my money back.

When you drive by you will notice that this place has a building that is on the older side. This place has been around for quite some time! They sell wood here. That is why it says "Lumber CO" in the signage. Places like this are very charming because they give off an authentic, smaller business vibe.

Great place this is. They have items you need for these older central phoenix homes (like ship lap siding.) But it is a lumbar yard for contractors mostly. Know what you want before you go in there. However, they do have straight 2: x 4"s, not like the banana boards at home depot or lowes. I like the place.

Place is awesome wish I found this along time ago people there are very friendly and very knowledgeable unlike those big box store that shall not be named, has that old school hardware store feel highly recommended definitely will be buying all future limber for my diy projects from them

Home Depot and their door installer are unaware of your lumberyard. I know you have been there for years!

Customer service was horrible! I Was looking to buy some 1x6x72” pieces of rough lumber and was told “I don’t know what the F*%# your talking about” and then hung up on. Don’t use this Lumber company try Alliance Lumber instead!

I was super excited to visit this place because it's right by my house, got a cool looking building, and I loves me some DIY. I went in with high expectations and left a little disappointed. The prices were high in comparisons to other lumber yards in the area. Peterman Lumber is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. I certainly wouldn't knock a store for just high prices because selection, service, and convenience are also considerations. As for service, it was apathetic at best. Everyone seemed to be busy with tasks but not customers in store. In addition, they seemed to treat in-store customers as a bother. It felt like they didn't need the business. I would only recommend shopping here if you don't have time to go somewhere else and it's not a large quantity.

Went in there for a piece of wood for a diy project. I was greeted by someone at the desk as soon as I walked in and directed outdoors to Jose. Jose was awesome and extremely helpful. I walked out with what I needed within a few minutes. Professional and great service and nice to support a local business.

Greeted promptly, paper work and order ready, front office very professional. The yard staff, was tops, recognized my presence immediately, pulled and loaded us in the order of our arrival.need lumber go to Heldt, forget the home improvement rat race

Good old fashioned lumber yard like before the big box behemoths showed up. The people who help you here actually know what they're talking about - in most cases they've personally done numerous times what you're inquiring about - so the advice and guidance is solid. The products offered here - and especially their wood materials - far exceed the quality found at the big boxes at only marginally higher costs and are well worth the extra pennies. A great place to go for your next home improvement project.

I'm very amateur at building but I have competed 5 different projects. I came to Heldt initially because it is close to where I live. The service here has been inconsistent. Some really good, some not so much. The speed is the best part though. I tried home depot on my 4th project and it took 2.5 hrs to get the materials I needed when it would have taken 30 minutes at Heldt. I will keep coming here!

A place where are you can go to get true quality material. They also will do their best to help you out. They've been around for a longtime with a great reputation

If you re a homeowner with a question about lumber this is not the place to go. Very unhelpful, not interested in dealing with the public.

I tried to work with Heldt 3 different times over the past 4 years because they are local and I wanted to give them every chance to help me out. They were rude and unhelpful every time. Today I found the product I wanted on the website and when I called to ask questions and make sure I was ordering the correct item I was totally blown off. These guys don't even know their own product line. Don't waste your time unless you want over priced rough cut lumber.

This store is completely old fashioned, but not in a good way.
Staffed with A bunch of old men that don't seem to want to help.
The lumber I ordered was overpriced and the quality was garbage.
Just go to Lowes and pic out the wood yourself, you'll save at least 30%

The help in the yard is great! Good guys great prices. Fine selection, my only go to lumber yard. No matter job location. We will drive 50+ miles to use Frank Heldt!

Bought three 4x4s and three 2x6s for less than what home depot was going to charge me for two of each. Wood was great quality and the employees were extremely polite and helpful. I will definetely be going back again.

I received a quote over the phone with these guys and when I drove to there location, they were extremely rude, Don't expect smiles when visiting
