Now remember, "the early birds catch the worm. " You have to get here early because once they start flocking to this joint. Food service gets slow, and you'll have plenty of time to find nothing to do. But the food is worth the wait. Don't bring your Karen aunt. She's gonna complain. Patience is a virtue.

We came in and there was a long wait. Not a problem.

Dallas was our server. He did great so he gets 5 stars.

The rest of the experience was absolutely horrid. The food took an hour to come out. When it finally did it was cold. Not almost warm - it was cooler than room temperature. One of our party's meal came out 10 minutes after the others.

The only time I saw the manager was when she came to our table. She sure wasn't managing.

I'm guessing the kitchen was understaffed and they sure weren't being supported.

All around us tables got up to leave. I sure can't blame them.

I'm not the kind of person to ask for comps, but they only took off the cost of the meal that came out after the others. Oh, well, they also took off the pancake that never came out and we decided to cancel rather than wait.

This was a HORRIBLE experience. I'll just go to Denny's next time. At least my expectations will be met.

Worst dining experience. We didn’t mind waiting 20 minutes for a table since that is a normal wait time. After being seated, we weren’t approached for 10 minutes. When someone did stop by our table it was to take our water bottles from us only to force us to drink their water only. Our waiter then didn’t stop by the table to take our order until about 15 minutes after being sat. We then had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a cup of coffee to be brought to the table. We finally got our food 50 minutes after being sat. We had only ordered a small stack with a side of bacon.
We noticed the group of people we were sitting next to while waiting for a table had ordered, eaten, and received their check before our food was even brought to the table.
The pancakes were dry, however, the bacon was good. This location ruins the henhouse name. If we didn’t have a good experience at another location, we would tell everyone to stay far away from Henhouse.
Worth driving to the Higley and Guadeloupe location for better service and food.

It wasn't bad and it wasn't great. Didn't appreciate the chef yelling across the dining room TWICE. The amount of orange zest in the waffle made it very sour and very off taste. I didn't want to I complain or feel ungrateful for my friend treating me out so I just scoffed it down. It was very not good haha.

Always super busy, prices are decent, just be prepared to wait a bit for your food! Usually comes out delish.

4/29/23 Update:
Went here with a large group (7 adults and 5 toddlers) and was blown away by the service and attention to detail. Our server Dallas was amazing! He was kind to all the kids and talked to them like humans, not babies. I appreciated all he did to make our chaotic visit memorable and smooth.

Great food and great service! This location is brand new (3 months old) and still working out kinks. They ran out of potatoes (sad day because their potatoes are AMAZING!) but they offered excellent substitutes for the inconvenience. I will definitely be coming back here! Great food for excellent price. All homemade from scratch food that feels like mom made

Good eggs Benedict and coffee, but the service was inconsistent. The hostess was sullen. She waved her hand to indicate I should sit somewhere and when I asked “Where? ” she was downright disdainful in her reply. When I asked if I could sit at a small booth instead of the bar (many tables were empty), the staff seemed resistant to such a request, but granted me the privilege. Two of my servers were relatively pleasant and efficient. One was cheerless and maintained the sullen expression that seems to be the emotional uniform of the place. I appreciate that serving people isn’t the easiest or most pleasant job in the world, but no reason to treat customers poorly. Both the restaurant managers and staff should work on creating a more friendly service, which would make things nicer for customers and servers. Who wants to work a shift with a sullen frown on their face all the time?

This place did not disappoint! The food was simple and delicious, I ate every bite. Our server was super kind, quick and knowledgeable of the memu. The vibe of the whole place was super chill yet fun at the same time! We will be back for sure! Thank you for the delicious food, great service and not to mention very affordable and wallet friendly!

I've been here a couple of times and the food is not good. Today I ordered their special a croissant breakfast sandwich and the croissant was badly burnt. The cook served it and the server served it. You could see how badly burnt it was. The sausage patty tasted old it had a weird taste. When the server came by to take the dishes away she said nothing about the burnt croissant sitting on the plate. If she was a good server should have apologized and offered to take meal off the check. This place just doesn't care about quality. Don't bother eating here.

Only people in here near close and took forever to be acknowledged and to order drinks let alone to get the check. Food was great tho.

So, this was my first time in and it will be my last. When we walked in the young man who seated myself, daughter and mother in law- seemed very bothered that we were there, then seemed to get irritated when I asked him for a booster seat for my toddler-he also didnt give us a kids menu. After we were sat it took about 10 minutes to get our drinks, my daughter got hers first. Our waitress forgot lemon for both of our drinks and the entire time there we never got them. We were sat for about 15-20 minutes after that before our order was taken. Then another 20 minutes before our food arrived at the table. Again, my daughter got her food first-now if you have a child or a toddler the portion size of the pancake was almost ridiculous, it was so huge.her eggs were supposed to be over easy and they came out overdone, and she got 1 piece of bacon. WARNING! If you're going to order a burger.you get NOTHING on it other than meat and a bun.the server also didn't ask if I wanted lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayo.nothing! My mother in law asked for all that I didn't bother. My mother in law also ordered her burger without a bun and literally only got a beef patty with 2 slices of bacon and a slice of cheese on top-Her burger was undercooked and mine was okay. I asked for ranch for my fries and that was another 5 minutes of waiting. Over all we were there for over an hour and half of that was just sitting and waiting. We never got refills on any of our drinks, the server never checked in to ask how everything was or if we needed anything. Also, $3.50 for a drink? ! That again we never got a refill on! Even the childs drink was $3.50. The atmosphere was very unsettled and i personally felt VERY unwelcome. It was honestly a very poor experience and we will not be back.

The chorizo breakfast burrito was the best breakfast burrito I have had honestly ever had. From the soft tortilla, the chorizo, very soft potatoes, & sauce: it’s perfect. I highly suggest getting it or trying out some of their pancakes. This was my first time here & am so thankful we came. The staff & our waitress were nice & very attentive. Farmhouse vibe with lots of food options. Will definitely come back!

First time eating here me and my sister loved everything. Food was amazing staff was amazing. Even got some churro doughnuts to go. Will definitely be back.
