It’s very unfortunate that Hillstone continues not to care about their customer experience after they take your money for the down payment and is emotionally involved in the home you are so excited to build. They continue to blame contractors, suppliers yet never apologize or take responsibility nor try to mitigate time lost in any of these delays! Kevin who is supposed to take care of these issues continue to say “we don’t get paid until the job is done” which has nothing to do with us or our experience. We now have to cancel family coming into town for the holidays as our home was supposed to be done in June/July and now coming up on October which is now a year since we secured our lot. We still have no timeline of what to expect. Delay after delay with no regard to their costumers. Never even a apologize or trying to emphasize with us after giving them well over $20k. This is very disappointing and I would think twice before investing with this company.

Our home was built in 2018 and we had dealt with a flurry of small issues that turned into mountains because of the unresponsiveness/lack of accountability on the owner's part. If you are looking for a new build, run from this company and go to a more reliable builder. They are not the place until Lou Turner learns about customer service when S*** hits the fan.

I sat back and watched as my wife tried to work with the 3 different supers and Lou Turner. She is more patient and much nicer than I am, so I had her do all the talking because I would have been extremely angry all the way through. We had issues that were not officially marked by the second super before close and he didnt try to resolve before closing (like he promised). The super told us he would handle things (dead landscaping, holes in cinder block fencing, missed painting spots, grout cracks.etc). They were all small and we were patient enough with them when we were promised the work would be done within the first week of move-in because they didn't do the work before close. This turned into a year escapade of just getting someone to own up to minor issues and come out to fix them.

We started off patient until the second super started lying to us about work the promised. We notified Lou immediately via email and phone, as it was happening, and it seemed like he cared. However, that changed when a few more months went by and nothing happened (not even the promised 30 day walkthrough). My wife tried again to get someone to come out by contacting Lou and the first super. Lou never responded but the first super showed up to do as much as he can.however, they hired a new super and he was supposed to take over. It started well, until he dropped off the face of the earth after a few of the issues still weren't fixed by the contractors. That is when I wanted my wife to email all of them to get someone over to fix the promised work. We were at 5 months by this point and Lou fired back with a "I never knew, you never contacted me ever, we never said we wouldn't do the work, " attitude. Actions speak louder than words and when nothing happened after that point, we gave up. We were so tired of just trying to get someone to communicate with us. So we decided to wait until our yearly.

We paid for the home and expected to get everything taken care of in the timeframe they promised and assured. At the one year, Lou and the super became extremely unprofessional and hostile after they pretended like they never spoke to us before. They couldn't see past the fact they said they would do the work and that we never spoke to them (which didn't make sense, how do you know about past promises and yet have never spoken to us about it?). It was like we were making the whole intricate/stressful story up. I am saying again to you Lou and Mark, it was the way you both handled the situation that escalated, mainly me, and then my wife.

I sent them an email telling them this but it was all brushed aside because in Lou's eyes they did nothing wrong ever because we NEVER contacted him. We felt bad for Mark because he was being thrown into a situation that was already bad because of Lou. However, he also didn't try to understand or advocate for us so it didn't help.

This situation ended with Lou telling my wife that she wasted their time, that he never spoke to her or knew about the situation. We have countless emails and call logs because we had a feeling this would happen after the first super left. The second super was flaky so we had to do something to keep record to show the owner proof of the issues at hand. Alas, he didnt care and by the time we got to the third super we were beyond done with the company. We shortened the list of work and lied to them saying we did some work personally so they can leave our life asap (we intend to keep it that way).

Lou did absolutely nothing in the end, not even an apology for his behavior. I hope he doesn't do this to others. If he has, I encourage everyone to share their stories, you are not alone!

The home sold my wife and the lot sold me at Hillstone Dysart. We love these homes and the space between them. This neighborhood is definitely worth a look.

It's been an absolute pleasure working with Dan. He's answered all of our questions and when need be, will reach out to the superintendent and/or owner.

Working with superintendent Jared has been great as well. He made it a point to clarify our options down to exact placement as to do the job right the first time.

Looking forward to working with both of them more as our forever home is underway.

Worst home builder I have ever encountered. The owner does not care for his company, only the money it brings. If he cared he would have been the first person to jump when there were severe issue with our process that he had been made aware of. I have contacted him on numerous occasions and he is either too busy, flat out ignores me, or gives a small one sentence response that brushes away my complaint. He is so removed from "the little people, " that he will not even show up to any HOA meeting that our subdivision has. Even though he is the president and on the board AND the ONLY person that can approve decisions for our community.

Learn from my mistake, if you want the owner (Lou Turner) to be held accountable for any promises made by the super you need to submit a complaint with the registrar of contractors. Other subdivisions in Hillstone Homes may have competent superintendents, if not you will be screwed. Lou and the super did not care about quality and they showed that they did not care to listen or to help.

The only reason I did not give Hillstone Homes one star is because of the sales team. They are very nice, understanding and are always willing to lend and ear if you are having problems with your home building process.

Bought a new home from Hillstone Homes of Arizona. The process was smooth and I was kept informed through out the process. The work was excellent and from the sales person, bank and site Supervisor everyone was and still is awesome. I would highly recommend this company.

My experience buying a new home with Hillstone was positive, and the entire purchase process was completed as promised, including selection of many available options and upgrades. During the 5 month building phase I visited the site often and enjoyed seeing my new home constructed. All the staff at Hillstone were always friendly and available to answer my questions along the way.

Having now been in my new Hillstone home for the past 18 months, I am very pleased with the quality of materials and construction. All of the components of my house, including HVAC, plumbing and fixtures, flooring, cabinetry, roofing and interior/exterior walls have had no defects. Hillstone also provides an extensive warranty which is very reassuring.

Hillstone Homes is highly recommended to anyone considering the purchase of a new home!
