Scott and Dale were AMAZING! Our trip was originally canceled halfway to the river when our planned guide got sick. Both Scott and Dale volunteered to take our group and made the trip so memorable while guiding us safely through the rapid river. They made delicious dinner and breakfast and packed great lunches too! I can’t recommend this company and guides enough!

The two day trip was one of the best experiences I have had. Shout out to the rafting guides Scott and Dale who worked every minute from start to finish to make sure we were safe, well fed and entertained. Would definitely do this trip again.

What an amazing experience! We did the 2 day rafting trip. Started by getting cancelled as we were half way on the drive to the base of the canyon. One of the guides was sick. Talk about a bus full of disappointed people. We turned the bus around to head back to our starting point and then got stopped again mid way to let us know they had found a replacement and that the trip was back on. At that point I don’t know if anyone believed it. Lol. We got to the river where our guides Scott and Dale were waiting. I am so glad this trip happened. First time seeing the Grand Canyon and I am glad I got to see it from the base first. Scott and Dale were amazing. Scott cooked delicious meals. Dale was great at educating us on the Hualapai history. There was plenty of food and beverages. We got to float in the river and had a few hikes to some pretty waterfalls. We all kept saying how amazing the trip was. Now the real disappointment has set in. It’s over. Thanks Scott and Dale for such an amazing trip. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. We will be talking about this trip for a while.

This was the perfect way to end our trip with a one-day rafting trip in the Grand Canyon! Scott was an extremely fun and knowledgeable guide, and ensured our group was having fun (safely). We were mostly new to rafting and had a blast. The trip included a waterfall hike and floating in the Colorado River as an unexpected bonus. The Hualapai River Runners take care of all the logistics including pickup, transportation to the put in site, lunch, and transportation back after. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to do a one-day rafting trip in the Grand Canyon!

Had a great time. Scott was our guide and did a great job missing Killer Fang, informative and looked out for his guest and others. I would recommend using them.

A group of 7 of us were able to experience the River runner with Scott, our guide. He was incredible and really made our trip memorable. Also kudos to Tom, our driver to and from the river.

Amazing Outfitter! We had a blast on our trip. The guides (our guide was Scott!) are super fun and made the trip what it is. Plus the food is soooo good. Way better than you could expect on a river trip. Scott even baked a cake riverside.

First of all the trip was amazing due to the fact that you were in the actual Grand Canyon was amazement by its self and the guides were amazing. Also, the money for the trip was well worth it. I have a memory for lifetime. Thank you so much guys, James and Angelique Johnson.

We had an incredible experience with Scott! He was the BEST guide! He knew what we needed before we knew what we needed! The views were incredible, the waterfall hike is amazing and Scott was there to help us climb the rocks to be able to see it! You feel like your the only person on the River because it is so serene and it’s only Hualapai River Runners on the River! We had an incredible trip!

The 7 to 8-hour journey commenced in Peach Springs on Historic Hwy 66 at the inviting Hualapai Lodge, where a comfortable, air-conditioned lobby awaited us for the initial waiting period.

After a picturesque yet slightly bumpy 45-minute drive down the Diamond Creek Road, we reached the banks of the Colorado River within the magnificent Grand Canyon. Yes, there is indeed a road that leads down into the canyon.

At the riverside, we found motorized rafts with seating for approximately 8 guests, along with a skilled captain to guide us. We secured our belongings in dry bags and prepared for the adventure ahead.

Visiting in mid-July meant facing scorching temperatures, hovering around 100°F in the morning and climbing up to 120°F later in the day. To combat the dry heat, we dipped our life vests, hats, and bandannas in the refreshing Colorado River water before embarking on the raft.

Once on board, we wasted no time and set off swiftly, eagerly anticipating the relief from the intense heat that the river promised to offer. Although the weather was sweltering, the cool water from the rapids brought a delightful sense of comfort and rejuvenation.

The intensity of the rapids varied based on the dam's water release upstream, providing an exhilarating experience. Initially, my mother (80) and daughter (10) were a bit anxious, but with the captain's expertise, they soon found their confidence.

The river journey unfolded in distinct quarters, each offering its own unique highlights:

First quarter: Rapids - Everyone positioned at the front of the raft, holding on tightly.
Break at the waterfall: A five-minute hike to a magnificent spring-fed waterfall.
Second quarter: Rapids - Again, everyone moved to the front and gripped the raft tightly.
Lunch break: Enjoying sandwiches, chips, and refreshing drinks (cokes).
Third and fourth quarters: Everyone relocated to the back of the raft, cruising rapidly to escape the scorching sun. This segment, approximately 2 hours long, provided spectacular views of the canyon, even revealing the bottom of the renowned glass-bottom canyon viewing platform.
Finish: We reached a public boat ramp at the serene headwaters of Lake Mead, marking the end of our memorable journey.
The return trip on the air-conditioned bus, although lasting about an hour and a half, was reasonably comfortable and gave us a chance to unwind.

Pros:

An unparalleled lifetime experience with breathtaking views and thrilling rapids.
Definitely worth every penny invested.
Cons:

It is located far from urban areas.
Expect a long, loud, and bumpy bus ride back.
Plan this activity as the sole event for the day, as it can be physically tiring.
Summary: This incredible adventure surpassed all my expectations and proved to be the ideal way for people of all ages to immerse themselves in the wonders of the Colorado River within the Grand Canyon.

The entire operation, from the top-notch rafts and crew to the stunning views, deserves a resounding five-star rating.

Our family of four had a great experience rafting with Hualapai River Runners! Be prepared for an all day adventure and to be embued with a deep sense of privilege to see such a long stretch of the Grand Canyon from the vantage of a raft on the Colorado river! Thanks to the Hualapai people for sharing their home with us and to our guide Scott who navigated the river and rapids with expertise. The rapids, the cavern hike, the lunch, the snacks, the history and the many many water bottles were all top notch! Be brave and jump in!

The 2-day rafting trip was such a great experience! Our guides (Scott, Jeremiah, and Louis) were fun, knowledgeable, and ensured we all had a great time while staying hydrated and fueled in the intense climate. I had an amazing time, and I will recommend HRR to any and all friends looking to see the canyon from a new perspective!

Went yesterday and had an amazing time. This was the highlight of our trip to the Grand Canyon. All the staff was very nice and Scott was awesome and a great guide, always offering drinks, snacks, telling us some stories and history, offering to take photos, stopping for several stops to swim and cool off and making sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. This was a truly amazing experience for my son and I. I’d give more stars but 5 is the limit. Highly recommend adding this adventure to your Grand Canyon visit. Thanks Scott and the entire team for making it such a fantastic day to remember!

My family (including a 12-yo) just did the one-day rafting experience July 2023. Highly recommend. It is a long bus ride to the river and back, but we took advantage of it and napped - ha! There were enough guests that day that we had six boats out. Our boat had a total of eight people on it, including Dale, our captain. Plenty of space. The captain supplies a dry bag big enough for everyone's stuff, but you're welcome to bring your own as well. Water is provided on both the bus and boat, as well as a sandwich, chips, soda for lunch, and other snacks.

I felt a little nervous ahead of time, wondering if the rapids would be too much for my son, but they weren't and he LOVED IT. You WILL get soaked, so dress accordingly with the weather. Wear waterproof shoes (like Keens) with a good tread for the climb up to Travertine gorge and the waterfall. You won't want to miss that. Follow their directions on their site also as far as hats that tie under your chin and holders for your sunglasses. You WILL lose them if they aren't attached to you!

It was a long, hot day, but we'd do it again in a heartbeat. Dale stopped several times for us to get wet so we could cool off on the last half of the ride, where there are no rapids to splash you. Well worth the price of admission for a trip we will never forget!
