I found myself desperate to see a dentist as my temporary crown put on a week ago in WA fell off and broke while on vacation here in Tucson. Called around and Dr Jay Lopez office made me an appt. Disappointed as after 2 hrs, and an exam and an X-ray, no treatment plan except refused to do replacement of temporary crown. Even with insurance and offer to pay cash! I couldn’t believe I was sent on my way with a sensitive tooth and no resolution till I return home to my own dentist. Empathy, kindness, and creative thinking was absent.

I'm very happy with the level of service I received at Dr. Lopez' office. His staff was attentive and made the experience easy going and relaxed. Going to the dentist can be stressful but not here. Dr. Lopez was straightforward and honest. Highly recommended!

I haven't seen a dentist in over 5 years for my dear of dentist's however, Dr Lopez made me feel extremely comfortable and, explained the entire procedure. The staff is great especially, his assistant Erica, she has a warm people personality. I would recommend Dr. Jay Lopez and, I became a new patient.

Just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out today. No general anesthetic and the procedure was quick and painless (yes you read that right). Excellent bedside manner and great sense of humor in the room. Erika, his assistant was wonderful as well.

Dr. Lopez has been my Dentist for years. His knowledge and expertise along with his ability to go above and beyond in a complicated case is top notch. While there are many Dentists closer to my home, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my care. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful too!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE don’t be fooled by all the reviews. Dr. Jay R Lopez Charged me for a root canal that was unsuccessful then recharged me to retreat the root canal and still he was unsuccessful the infection is still there.he does NOT care about patients or their health.he’s arrogant and all about MONEY.

Dr Lopez and his staff are by far the best in the business. If they can't take care of your dental problems it's possible no one can. I went to several dentists before Dr. Lopez and none of them could fix my dental problems correctly but Dr. Lopez is well on the way to fixing them.

Alright guy's. Fair warning; I am about to write a novel. If you ever need dental work done and are looking do not go to J R Lopez on Tanque Verde. I thought he was a great choice at first. All of his reviews online are amazing. I called the office, explained my situation to the receptionist and they were so helpful and sweet. It made me feel confident going in there. My consultation came around on 01/04/2021, again the receptionist was phenomenal. I went into the back and met the dentist's assistant who did most of the talking with me. She seemed really understanding, we went through all of my medical problems, concerns, ect. I was VERY honest. Then J R Lopez came in. It was a brief introduction. Then, without explaining anything he asked me if I had any questions. Without an explanation of the basics I really had no idea of what to ask, so I didn't get much out of the conversation. I did deeply express my concern and phobia with him. He stated it was not a problem at all. I asked him twice if he was sure he would work on me. Both times he said yes. So I leave, feeling a bit uncomfortable with the lack of information. The only thing he wanted to give me was Ibuprofen and Tylenol. So the next day 01/05/2021 $1334 was charged to my credit card. We scheduled the removal for today, 01/14/2021. I go in, very nervous. Especially because I was advised they would not give me pain medication for recovery. The only pain medication they did give me was to be taken at midnight the night before the surgery. Which makes no sense to me, thats 8 hours before my appointment, at that point the medication would have worn off. So why was it prescribed and advised to be taken like that in the first place? There just wasn't much information given. There wasn't much consideration behind me as a patient. So they bring me back (anyone who knows me knows I have really bad anxiety) and naturally I cry a bit because I'm scared and nervous. Then J R Lopez comes in and tells me he refuses to work on me due to my crying. I asked him multiple times during my consultation if he was 100% sure he would work on me. Then, after being in the room for less then 10 minutes I was told I needed to be referred elsewhere. After speaking to my referral, he advised me I needed to take something 30 minutes before my appointment for my anxiety, I needed antibiotics to avoid infection and I most definitely needed pain medication for recovery. All in all this was a horrible, time wasting, money draining experience and I sincerely hope they refund me my money since no services were provided.

People don't usually say they love to go to the dentist, but I do. I've been a patient of Dr. Lopez since 2000/2001 and I have always received the very best care. Dr. Lopez is one doctor who believes in continuing education and staying on top of the latest research and technology in his field. He also takes the time to educate his patients with regard to diagnosis, care and treatment. I would not trust anyone else to do complicated work on my teeth and have appreciated his knowledge and years of experience when he created a care plan for me. I want to keep my teeth when I'm old and Dr. Lopez is helping me do that! He's the best there is!

Dr spent plenty of time explaining why and how he was doing things. Felt very relaxed about his work ethic. Staff was very friendly and helpful too. Really great experience.

I felt I needed to explain my situation/frustration with Dr. Lopez and reason for the one star. In 2017, I got a crown on my lower left tooth. Although I did not have any pain at that time Dr. Lopez told me I needed a crown because of the wear so, I went ahead and got it. After I got the crown things were fine for several months. Then I got braces and started having sensitivity with cold on the same tooth as the crown. Dr. Lopez said I needed a root canal so again I did what he suggested and got the root canal. Right after he did the root canal they took x-rays to make sure it turned out okay. I immediately noticed looking at the x-ray that on one of the roots of the tooth the material used to fill the root looked a bit off, like it was past the tooth root. Dr Lopez looked at the x-rays and said everything looked good so I did not say anything because I figured he has knowledge of the procedure. A couple weeks after the root canal I started having some minor discomfort. I went in multiple times for visits. I would mention the slight discomfort and they took x-rays on several occasions. Each time Dr. Lopez would look at the x-rays and would tell me he did not see anything wrong. On one of the visits, Dr. Lopez said it might just be that I was thinking about it too much. So, I thought maybe it was just in my head and I tried not to think about it but continued to feel discomfort. On another visit, Dr. Lopez shaved down the tooth because he said the tooth might be a bit too high, possibly causing the discomfort. Finally, January of this year 2020 I had my six-month visit and explained I still had discomfort, which seemed to be increasing. Dr. Lopez looked at he x-rays that day and told me it looked like an infection! And that I would need a root retreatment. Keep in mind I had already spent a lot of money on this one tooth with the crown, then root canal, then crown cemented x2 (because it came off), plus redo of crown x1 and this retreatment was going to cost another 800+ dollars. I ended up going to my orthodontist for follow up and since the office also had regular dentists in the same building I decided to get a second opinion. Since the same facility had done my braces, they had x rays of my teeth from late 2017 when I got my braces, 2018, and 2019. The dentist their told me that you could see the infection on x-rays they took back in 2018/2019! The dentist also noticed the same thing I initially noticed after the root canal procedure, that on one of the roots the material was past the point where it was supposed to be which likely led to the infection which was on that specific root of the tooth! The infection had obviously gotten worse throughout the years and that is why I started having more frequent pain. I just do not understand how Dr. Lopez was not able to see I had an infection despite the multiple x-rays taken at his office throughout the years. It is now clear to me that the root canal procedure was done incorrectly from the beginning. I regret not getting a second opinion sooner but I honestly trusted Dr. Lopez and his work. As far as the receptionist and other staff I never had any issues, on the contrary they were always very nice and polite but I cannot go back to a dentist I cannot trust.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lopez since 2014. In the past 6 years, Dr. Lopez has performed many complex (implants) and simple procedures correcting a number of dental issues I have had. In every situation, he has applied the same care, attention to detail and technical skill. Dr. Lopez' forte, in my opinion, is his skill in combining state-of-the-art dentistry with artistry. Your smile will never look better!

Dr. Lopez' support staff and front-end staff are professionals in their respective areas and working with them all is a pleasure. It's a great team and I'm a patient for life!

Just moved here, had a temporary veneer break off that had been placed elsewhere. Was able to get in and have it repaired within hours of calling. I was treated extremely well by Dr. Lopez and his staff from my first phone interaction to checking out of the office. He was very meticulous while working in my mouth. Having run an orthopedic office for 35 years, I can really appreciate a well run operation. I’d give 6 stars if I could. What a gem.
