Ken's Import Service reviews
13Ken's does good work and when I make an appointment with them, they promptly complete the service requested.
The water pump in my Mercedes failed in the desert and I was referred to Ken’s Import Service in Flagstaff. I called and explained my predicament and they professionally helped me make a plan to get the car towed and checked out at their shop where they replaced the water pump. They did a great job keeping me updated during the process and I found them to be friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Thanks to the team at Ken’s Import Service I felt confident driving back home to the San Diego area following the repair. I was impressed by the way they did business and appreciated their help.
A local dealer quoted me $1400 to fix my A/C blowing hot on the left side, saying the whole motor was toast and needed a replacement. On top of that, the dealer did 3 to 4 things I didn't even ask for and tried to charge me for it.
Ken's was a no-bull experience. They took my car in and fixed the A/C issue, which ended up being a stuck vent. They did everything I requested, solved the problems and gave the car back same day of appointment.
10/10 take your car to Ken's
I own a 2009 Mini Cooper S that I bought new and that the family loves. I have always taken good care of this vehicle but Mini’s have a tendency to be mechanically needy after they get around 100K miles under their belt. Tino and his guys (Jake primarily) did a bunch of work over the last year with just wear-and-tear (brakes, shocks/struts, sway bar bushings, headlight assemblies, etc) repairs and then driving up I-17 from Phoenix, the engine hand-grenade’d itself. The banged engine was not related to any work previously done by the guys at Ken’s, a piston cracked and let go. Because of all the work we had previously done and the otherwise excellent condition of this Mini, we decided to have Tino and the guys install a factory new Mini N14 engine, clutch, turbo and all new hoses and belts. The car runs great, like it did when it was new, it should cuz it basically is a new car. By the way the car now runs and looks under the hood, it seems like they did excellent work and there is a two-year warranty on the engine.
We pulled off the highway after noticing a pulsing in our brakes. They diagnosed the problem same day as a special help as we were driving across the country. Next day we had new brakes and rotors and were back on the road. Many thanks. I’d recommend them to anyone.
My VW broke down in Flagstaff during a 3-week camping trip. Tino understood my situation and was kind enough to work me in to his lineup of customers on May 12th. I stayed in a nearby motel only one night and was on my way the next day after Tino diagnosed and repaired a serious mistake by the previous mechanic. Tino's detailed notes describing the repair and recommendations for future actions were greatly appreciated. I very lucky to have found Ken's Import Service and am grateful for Tino's mechanical knowledge and kindness to an out-of-towner and first-time customer.

They did an excellent job in a timely manor for a major repair.
Replaced the power steering pump and related hoses. Highly recommend their services.
Have taken my car here before. And, as usual, all was as they promised. While drop-off and pick-up is generally no contact, it seems to work just fine.
Excellent service overall. Had to rebuild engine, and they’ve worked with us well as we gone through the process, ensuring the engine runs properly.
My car unexpectedly broke down, I called around and everybody was booked for weeks ahead. They were able to get me the same day and work on my car the next day. They were a little expensive but they got the job done.
Tino and crew did a great job of diagnosing and fixing the issue with plugs and coils on my 2014 Mini Cooper S Countryman. Plus, it was ready within a day of when I dropped it off.
I called the owner and received an appointment to change the oil and check maintenance. Had an agreement with him that I will wait in the shop. He asked me to come at 8 AM. I took one day off and arrived at the exact time. He was not there and his employee refused to listen to me. Said I can NOT wait and I need to drop the car and leave the place immediately until they call me when the oil is changed. No estimation of time. It was raining heavily, and he showed me a bench on the side walk as my place to wait if I want to wait but I was not allowed to stay on the premises.
I got an appointment at University Auto Repair, and they offered me an excellent service, best price, and no, I did not need to go to a special place for European cars. UAR took care of my X3 and I could choose between waiting in their place with wifi, soda, coffee, etc, or use their free shuttle service to go back home and then getting picked up once the work is done.
Went in for turn signal not working. Professional troubleshooting with an eye for longterm led to the root problem and fix. I asked for additional work which was happily accomplished. Drew explained everything in detail and kept me informed the entire time.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
