La Mesa Tortillas reviews
12Great tortillas! Especially the ancient grain variety. It would be great to see more usage of grains like Sonoran wheat and spelt.
The Torts spot on. Yum jalapeños torts the Empanadas are Really good.
The red chili also good but the tamales are hit or miss.
I live one block from the one on Alvernon and Pima.
You owe me money! Picture posted of the scraps they call a tamale, if you want to get ripped off this is the spot, I will say the tortillas aren’t bad
Bucket list worthy establishment. Amazing quality, flavour and freshness. We order one of everything and it was all great. Red pepper beef was my personal favourite. These Tomales are a must. The tortillas (as the name suggests) were unreal good. They also sell Tomy beverages which you need to try.
My family has been getting our tortillas here for almost 15 years! The tamales are excellent as well.
I’ve been ordering La Mesa tortillas to be sent to me in New York for years. They’re the gold standard of flour tortillas. There’s just nothing like them, and I’ve been eating flour tortillas since I was a child in Yuma 70 years ago—made by a Mexican laborer in the US under the Bracero program. They’ll send anywhere in the country, and believe me, if you’re a tortilla person you’ll be back for more.
Such a disappointment today. There was a hair in the chicken nachos, which was less than mediocre. I was really surprised because on previous visits things were good there. Skimpy portions too for 18 plus $$.
Their tortillas are the best in town (and there are TONS of options). Only 4 ingredients in them, just the way they should be.
Fantastic! Masa for tamales was amazing! I also grabbed some flour tortillas and my family devoured them in a couple hours. Guess I should have bought more. Lol.
First off they charge. 50 cents whwn you pay in card. And it’s not the register, it’s the actual store, they add. 50 cents to your order which I personally believe they are keeping it for themselves. I heard them talk to their employees very unprofessionally it’s kinda sad. The place looks unsanitary. So sad cause the tortillas are so good but professional wise? I don’t even think they know the definition of “professional “
Great tortillas!
The bigger ones get hard quicker but if you freeze them for later they taste just as good.
