Lake Mead National Recreation Area reviews
38I've been staying in government wash and it's been really awesome a lot of coyote activity but beautiful spot
Its was amazing the wheather was great, easy access to marina and loading dock. Can t wait to go back!
This os still a hidden gem. I hope politicians can straighten out the water usage before it goes from being a lake to a creek
Beautiful lake but people are leaving their trash behind! We picked up a full trash bag of plastic water bottles and used food containers. Why are there such litterers here?
Amazing view, but due to the government shutdown, we weren't able to use the washroom here, only gross portable toilets.
GREAT FISHING FOR STRIPERS. WE HAVE CAUGHT SOME REAL WHOPPERS. THE LAKE AND SURROUNDING AREAS ARE BEYOND COMPARE.
One of my favorite places to camp out! You must get the yearly pass, trust me is worth the eighty bucks! So many breath taking scenes. So much to do! From camping to boating to endless trails, biking, kayaking and of course 4wheeling on designed areas. And if you live in the valley is only a 30 minute drive or less. Just get out there!
Great architecture and a good photo opportunity. Only thing if you attend this location is to bring plenty of water and sunscreen with you.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area is a U. S. National Recreation Area located in southeastern Nevada and northwestern Arizona.
Came here to camp at Stewarts Point, which is one of the free campgrounds. LMNRA is a beautiful place with gorgeous sunsets across the pastel cliffs. We came here in November over the Thanksgiving weekend, and still its not that crowded, at least not along the Overton arm. The entire time we were here, the northern entrance by the town of Overton remained wide open with no one manning fee station, so it was no cost to get in. Otherwise, Stewarts Point was peaceful and a real joy to camp in. There was the usual spots of junk and trash on the ground, but as you remained focused on the beautiful views of Lake Mead, you can't complain.
Awesome for quick out of town camping. There are even more lakes now that the water level has receded so much.yay.
Gorgeous! Great weather and the ranger in the visitor center named Mandy was great. Even helped us with info on our next stop which was the Grand Canyon.
Awesome landscape, so beautiful. In years past rangers don't start patrolling til 6 am, so in the summer you could race at full speed from about 4: 30 to 6 am without getting caught and if you do its federal so doesn't go on driving record.
Paths accessible for all, great time during winter season. Great place to run take dogs biking or walking, nice views.
Great place to relax and camp. Clean trails and interesting place. Thomas in park education is a great person. We came in group to learn about the outdoors, the environment, the animals at Lake Mead, and jobs. Would do again.
Lake Mead is really something else. I loved every minute I was there. If you have a boat this is the place to go. There are a lot of fish in the lake and the scenery is breathtaking. The experience was something I'll never forget.
Well lake Mead is a realy beautiful lake with a lot of small island, where you can fish or camp n BBQ in other words is a beautiful place.
The landscape is just magical! We love this area and visit often for a few hours, hiking, trail running or just relaxing at one of the picnic areas or next to the water.
It's sad to see how much more water used to be there. I've lived in Vegas for only 12 years and I see a huge difference in where the water level is now and where it used to be. Enjoy the lake while you can. It's also nice to go visit the power station, you can take a tour all the way down to the generators and watch a free movie about how Hoover Dam was built. Explore your city and surroundings.
