Lakeside Drive Apartments, Tempe AZ

I lived here for a year and wanted out after the first week. My vehicle was broken into and everything stolen. My mountain bike was stolen - the robbers broke into the pad locked gated area they suggest to store bikes. They hammered the bike rack out of the ground. I have a motorcycle and we agreed where I could park it, then the very next day (start of my 2-week business trip) they threatened to tow it unless I moved it. The walls are paper thin, you will hear all of your neighbors even when they are not screaming at each other or blaring music all night. Even when they are quiet you will be woken up by the airplanes flying over constantly.

Right off the bat they encouraged us to sign the lease for 1 of 2 apts we expressed interest in. Once we signed they dropped the price for the other apt. The pool is nice enough, but nobody ever uses it. The weight room is ok but the treadmills stop on you after about a mile. Other tenants have complained how homeless get in.

I can look past being robbed (twice) as it is in Tempe, but the lack of respect management shows their tenants is obnoxious. After they threatened to tow my motorcycle I ended up getting another parking spot. They wanted to charge $100/month and I talked them down to $25. So, don't pay the full price if you make the mistake of living here.

I have lived all over the country in 10 or so different apt buildings. This was the worst experience I had.

My girlfriend and i were driving around on a saturday and decided to stop in and check the place out, we aren’t planning on moving for awhile but we just wanted to see our options and maigen was very helpful and answered all questions we had with extreme patience

Do not rent an apartment in this place, it is not safe. I have only two months of leasing and my bike has already been stolen from inside a coded gate, that stays inside an underground car park with a door that theoretically can only be opened by residents. How is this possible? The gate code had recently been changed and yet it was taken away and no one cares. When contacting the condo administration, the only "tip" I received was to speak to the police. But that's obvious! What I am suppose to do? What I really wanted was a plausible and fair explanation of how a bicycle is stolen from a place guarded by camera, with gates that are only supposed to open to residents. It's not a cheap place to live in Tempe and you still pay for your insecurity! That's insane! Now I'm worried about the safety of my own apartament as it is on a low floor and facing the street. The first thing was the bike and what else will be stole? Seriously, it's really easy to send nice messages pretending to be an organized administration, but when you really need it and you run into a situation like this where they should give you an explanation and a suppor they don't care at all! I don't just want a nice place to live, but a place where me and my belongings are safe!

After living at Lakeside Drive for nearly 18 months, I can confidently say that it excels in a good amount of the categories listed above. I’ve experienced several other apartment complexes that use the term “luxury” as nothing more than a marketing tactic, whilst falling significantly short on what is expected of a premium experience.

With that being said I rate Lakeside Drive a strong 8.5. Definitely worth your time, but a few additions away from being the very best.

I’ve lived at Lakeside Drive for almost a year and it’s one of my favorite places I’ve ever lived.

The staff and leasing office is always quick to fix maintenance problems. The hot tub and pool is usually always clean and never busy.

We have a shared co-working space, free printer, ping pong, shuffleboard, pool table, and rooftop terrace. Our gym is by far the nicest apartment gym I’ve ever seen. Coming from WA I never had any of these amenities before. Not to mention the community is smaller so I feel like we’ve become friends with a lot of our neighbors!

Is anyplace perfect? No. We’ve had to service our dryer which took GE a while to get out to us, sometimes the people above us we can hear their footsteps, and valet trash is… trash. There has been numerous times they don’t pick it up because they claim the garbage is “too heavy” when we can easily lift it with one finger.

I wish parking was included so more people could use the garage. I’ve noticed recently way more people park in the guest parking and it’s usually full now after 4pm.

All in all, we’re very happy residents at Lakeside Drive:) and our balcony view is amazing.

The team here is phenomenal! Steven came to fix a couple of small things I had submitted yesterday. I have 2 very excited puppies that barked and needed wrangling, but Steven was patient while I got them locked away. He was also very quick at getting everything repaired. I appreciate your politeness and professionalism!

I moved my family here based off of the reviews. The staff is nice but the loud noises, strong smoke smell and ROACHES amongst other PEST makes it not worth the price. We pay to much here to be killing bugs daily on the 1st floor we hear everything and the smoke smell comes through my unit.

Best Maintenance Team ever! They go out of their way to help you and they're very polite and friendly. The common areas are usually well maintained. Overall, a very good experience.

I have lived at lakeside drive for the past year and it has been a pretty pleasant experience until today. The garage was closed for cleaning this morning and all cars needed to be removed, understandable! I moved my car as directed. I came back around 2 and my spot had obviously been cleaned so I parked assuming the cleaning was done. When i went at 3: 30 to go to my car for a dr appt, my car wasn’t there as it had been towed. I went to talk to the leasing staff about the problem. They did not listen to me or seem to care about my situation at all, “it was done by a 3rd party. I can’t do anything except give you their number”. There was no call or text to let me know my car was going to be towed so I could remediate the situation. Glad no other problems have occurred here, as the leasing staff is not equipped to handle any problems with care.

I moved out about 6 months ago this place is not liveable, so noisy, even in the night. Every night I spend there I was counting the airplane that landing to PHX airport, I can hear every single one. You better be a national transportation reporter to live here. You get noisy notice know every time city light rail pass by, the train pass by the bridge and every single bike. Think twice before you sign the lease

Avoid the first floor studio apartments at all costs. Honestly, you will hear everything your neighbors do! So not worth the price! If you are considering a first floor studio, steer clear! So noisy!

I highly recommend this apartment complex for all ages. The staff, facilities and amenities are outstanding. They do a great job of keeping residents informed and create fun social events. The grounds are extremely clean and the clubhouse is beautiful. I can't say enough about how great my experience was living at Lakeside.

I would highly recommend living at Lakeside Drive! The location is my favorite part, walking distance to Tempe town lake and mill avenue. Inside and out is always up kept beautifully and it feels very safe. My only complaint would be the extra monthly fee for valet living trash service when there is already an easily accessible trash chute on every floor but overall it is a great place to live!

Lakeside is a great place to live. They are very responsive to the needs of the residents, and proactive with general maintenance. Any problems and general maintenance, such as bulbs and filters, are usually taken care of in a day or two.

Constant noise issues. Poorly insulated apartments, lots of noise between units. Please be aware of the noise before living here. You can hear your neighbors between walls

The leasing office team and the service team are always incredible. They respond promptly to any questions and concerns with kindness and professionalism. Very grateful to be living here!

Little effort by management to solve any noise complaints. The floors are clearly not reinforced to prevent even the slightest transfer of sound. You can feel vibrations from normal walking overhead. If peace in your apartment is important to you, you will need a top floor corner apartment to make this even a possibility.

I’ve lived in numerous apartment complexes, and have to say that the maintenance team here is stellar. Michael has always been quick, polite, and pragmatic in fixing a variety of issues that have come up, from a broken toilet to nonfunctional AC Fan, and even an improperly installed Fuse Box Hatch. Michael really goes the extra mile to ensure the property maintenance system is a breeze for us as tenants!

Very Friendly environment amazing staff members. A lot of great amenities like GYM, Grills, Lake side view. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
