If 360º views of the Santa Catalinas, Hoodoos, Pine forests and spectacular canyons are something you crave without the distraction of driving or peering through a window, or even the stress of finding a parking space, then this day trip is for you.
We were met by Dale (owner & driver) and Nate at the business's location on Giaconda Way (corner of Ina and Oracle, behind Safeway) in a black Chevy Suburban SUV with an open air passenger tram attached.
Our trip started promptly at 10am.
The open air tram sat approximately 20-30 passengers, had a roof and was comfortable.
We were informed that later in the year misters and fans would be installed under the roof which we thought was a great idea for summer but fortunately not necessary for our trip in early June.
The tram also had a cooler full of free bottled water available to anyone who wanted it.
We were driven over to E. Tanque Verde Rd & Catalina Hwy where we picked up a few more passengers, the continued until we reached Windy Vista Point where we stopped for a stretch, bathroom break and to take in the incredible views.
Next stop, Summerhaven where we had 2 hours to do as we pleased.
We ate at the Sawmill Run restaurant, visited the Gift Shop, grabbed a giant cookie (they also sell pizza) at the Mt. Lemmon Cookie Cabin and wandered through the beautiful pine forest carpeted with brilliant green ferns.
The temperature in Summerhaven was close to 15º cooler than in Tucson, it felt great.
We then jumped back on the tram for the ride home.
The afternoon winds had picked up and for the first quarter of the way down I felt it necessary to wear my hoodie as it was a bit chilly.
Again, the views coming down were outstanding. We stopped at Windy Vista Point for a second time, this allowed us time to walk out to an outcrop and take photos and stand in awe of our surroundings.
The journey back down continued to be very windy and as much as it felt good to have the wind in your hair our ears felt as though they were being baffled which was loud. As the tour is not narrated I would suggest ear plugs or noise cancelling head phones for comfort.
The journey in its entirety took 6 1/2 hours and is awesome.
There is so much to see on this tram tour.
Like other Tucsonans we've driven the roads out to Summerhaven/Mt. Lemmon from the city many times but in taking the tram we saw so much that we didn't realize was around us. All the beautiful roadside sculptures ad murals, unique shops, restaurants and Loop connections as you head out of town and all the trail heads, camp grounds and pullouts to enjoy on the way up (and down) the Catalinas.
This is definitely a tour we would take again. Next time we'll bring lunch so we can spend more time wandering thru nature.
This would make a great day out for friends and family from out of town too, they'll be talking about it for years.

Nate was my kids and their friends driver for prom, they came back happy and safe, told me it was so much fun. They talked about the overall experience of being on the trolly and how he drove them safely there and back. Would highly recommend nate to others who want their own great experience.

Our kids' driver was Nathan Lancaster. He was amazing with our kids when he drove them to prom. They absolutely had a blast and totally made memories! Thank you Nate!

This company, namely Dale, was our chauffeur for our first-time visit to the Southern AZ wine country. He was courteous and as a Tucson native, very knowledgeable about a variety of things. This made our trip enjoyable and relaxed. From booking with Barbara to being driven by Dale, was an A+ experience.

We look forward to using Limoport for our future transportation needs.

I wish I could give this company 100 stars. I booked through Barbara and she was AMAZINGGG! So helpful and always answered my phone calls and emails so fast and detailed. She was so patient and We were so excited to get to AZ and see the trolly. The trolley deserves its own 5 stars and so does Dale the driver. He was so amazing, always early and the trolley came with coolers and cold water which we didn't expect. He was so helpful in guiding us and he knew everything about the area and where to go. We will 1000% be booking with them when we come back. They were amazing.
