Lou Malnati's Pizzeria - Now Open! reviews
15The deep dish was soggy, probably because of the chunky pizza sauce that was closer to salsa in its consistency. Waste of $30.
Unfortunately I couldn't give it 0 stars. My husband is from Chicago and he wanted to try Lou malnatis so we did and let me tell you. We read reviews on here and thought yay we can't wait to try the pizza. He got a deep dish for himself and a thin crest for me smelled and it was okay pizza. The pepperoni 's gave both of us heart burn. My husband found a half of tomato with skin in his pizza as well. We won't be eating here again.
I do not like deep dish pizza is a statement I can no longer state. Excellent pizza, fresh ingredients, attentive employees!
Not only does this place have amazing food, they have amazing service! We ordered delivery, deep dish The Lou but received a thin crust The Lou. We called and let them know that we may have received someone else's order and they apologized and fast tracked a deep dish to us within 15 minutes with some extra desserts to make up for the mix-up. Everything tasted delicious!
What a major disappointment. Ordered deep dish & it was mediocre at best. The sauce, what there was of it, was totally bland & unseasoned. It was undercooked & doughy. The slices of cheese weren't even totally melted, we could peel a whole slice of cheese still in a square off of the pie. The sausage was flavorless. The crust, yep, bland & blah & the raw doughiness of it just made it worse.
Sadly, even as downhill as Rosati's has gone over the years, it is better. We won't be returning. Big waste of money. Really disappointing.
Until a year ago, I had lived in Chicago or its suburbs my entire life, so I know good pizza. And I LOVE Lou's! Since moving to AZ, I've had it at the North PHX location and it was just as good as Chicago. However, I think the cooks at this new location need some fine-tuning when it comes to baking their pizzas. Thusfar, I have ordered a fully baked pizza and a par-baked pizza for pick-up (two separate occasions), and they both came out exactly the same from the store! The crust has been much, much too light on the fully-baked one, and it's been so greasy that the ingredients literally slide towards the center, leaving 1-1/2 to 2 inches of exposed, nearly unbaked crust near the edges. Management, please help your staff to produce a properly baked Lou Malnati's pizza!
Lou Malnati’s has the best fresh flavors. I usually order mine uncut so when I get home and cut it the juicy fresh flavors stay in there. I use to live in Chicago and had tried different deep dish pizzas but Lou Malnati’s is my favorite and now that they’re closer it’s perfect.
This new location was able to replicate my first Lou Malnati's pizza at Lincolnwood, IL in 1973. Lots of cheese and fresh tomatoes, pepperoni and their secret ingredient. Great job. Came here from Tucson AZ
The flavors of the pizza were so good. We got the Chicago classic and plain cheese for the kids. As soon as I parked, an employee got my name and had my pizza delivered to my car in less than a minute.
Being a big Lou's fan and from Chicago i did a delivery the other night of a thin crust. It was one of the worst tasting pizza's i have ever had. I have never had a Lou's pizza this bad before. Hopefully they had just an off night!
I'm from Chicago (Da Bears)
Ordered an deep dish with sausage and pepperoni, cheese thin crust and some wings. The dish dish pizza needed more cheese (missing the cheese pull) lacking sauce but good. The crust was also good. Thin crust was ok (best part is the kids like it) I really enjoyed the wings. I do not recommend this place if you want an authentic Chicago pizza.
Rather have Gino East but they're gone from AZ.
A bit disappointed in the quality of pizza. First visit we of course went with the deep dish wich was a bit of a let- down as the cheese just had no flavor. Sauce and crust were great though.
2nd visit we went with thin crust with sausage. Being from Chicago, I was excited for that classic fennel sausage taste. This pizza did not have that at all and tasted like cheap packaged meat.
On the plus side, the wings were great and the staff were above and beyond friendly on both visits.
Ordered Deep Dish Lou Large and Personal deep dish cheese. Cheese was good, but the Lou was not fully cooked and felt very dough-ey.
I love Lou Malnati's! They have a crustless pizza for all my keto needs. And the best part is they're close to my house now at this new location
The food is great and I love the deep dish pizzas.but their pick up system is horrible. I’ve ordered three different times and all three times have had to wait in my car 30-45 minutes to get my order. I understand they just opened but the process of picking up food is ridiculous. There is no order and it’s all over the place. You pull up and see the workers going up to cars, then walking inside, and getting an order for a car that just pulled up. They need to be more organized. There’s numbers on the parking slots but they don’t do anything as people just park anywhere. Please be more organized!
