Lux Central, Phoenix AZ

I used to love this place to due to the amble space to study, the eclectic and diverse staff, the ambiance, and not knowing of other cafes, when I first moved back. Now, it is being converted into more of a lounge with limited room to study. It's a cute place for a 1st date. The music is hit or miss and can be pretty misogynistic at times. I would put my own music on. As a vegan, there are very limited options. As progressive as Arizona is with many vegan restaurants, restaurants with vegan options, and how "hipster" Lux supposedly is, I'm surprised that they only offer a soup and salad near a progressive university with a growing population of health, sustainability, and environmentally conscious young adults who prefer cauliflower wings and veggie burgers to bacon. They say they have vegan deserts but whenever I've asked there is none. The service is so so. Most of the men are cheerful and most of the women seem like they are bothered at having to serve you. I've seen other comments about service in other reviews.

Love the velvet and the pastry assortment! Looking forward to trying the cocktails soon! Wish there was more seating available. It's so great nobody wants to leave!

Lux is an exceptional experience. Tough to find! Haha. But oh so wonderful in taste and atmosphere. It’s refreshing to finally be able to say I know where the best coffee in AZ is located

Chill atmosphere. GREAT service! The food and drinks were amazing! The expresso martini was sooooooo good! Our bartender was on point and super friendly!

Home away from home kinda place. Everything and everyone here is wonderful. Coffee, scratch pastries, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Top it all off with amazing craft cocktails. Phoenix staple. You'll want to spend some time here, but you can also grab and go.

Nice place to hang out, the drink and food aren't bad. It could be cozy and intimate, great for conversation if the turned the music down. It's too noisy for comprehension of light conversation.

A fun, funky place to grab coffee and some really good dessert. The gal who rang us up acted a little put upon by "gasp! " having to wait on us, but I guess that's part of the "charm".

I've been a fan of Lux for years, during college I'd go and study on their couches for hours! The couple of food items they have are all delicious and so are their craft cocktails!

The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because of the wear and tear that some of their furnishings have gotten lately. Some sofas need to be replaced with new ones since they are showing signs of use. It just goes to show how busy this place is, so it makes sense.

I'd still recommend this place, try their velvet coffee!

I have been to Lux 4 times since 2017, and I have never been disappointed! Seriously! The bar tenders are the best! Great for absinthe done right and great selection of cocktails! This a PHX fav for me:)

Lux is a must for every college student! Great environment, it’s almost always busy but well worth it. I usually go there early in the morning or late in the evening. Food is awesome and coffee is even better!

The best latte in the city! Amazing space, Delicious.the most tender, succulent grilled chicken ever. I ordered the creamy risotto. All the food is made from scratch and the highest quality. Love this place!

It's like your cool grandma's house. The one you looked forward to visiting where the furniture is broken in. I wish you could take naps here but they'll probably just think you're a trendy dressed vagrant. And what if it's one of those times you snore. It's not worth the risk.

This place is an absolute circus. Kitchen employees making food on the tables that are for customer seating. No real flow to the layout. If savagery and hipsterness is your thing, you'll fit right in. Good luck.

Cool vibe, great breakfast, great coffee, and when your ready for a night out great food and drinks. Edgy enough were you wanna come back for more.

Downtown Phoenix’s hidden gem. Lux has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life. All the food is made from scratch and the highest quality. Love this place

I deliver bread to this hang out. The place is always packed and the atmosphere is great. The food is the bomb. You have to give this place a try. You won't be sorry.

I would have given it a 4 but the employee at the counter was too busy sending heart hands to the bartender and not taking my order so I had to knock a star off.

Coffee is good. Treats are even better.

The environment is super chill. Hipster slow jams over the radio, loved it. The seating arrangement is very interesting. I went at night and it was super mellow. Couldn’t imagine coming here in the day to grab a cup of coffee before work though.

Very Chill. Not for the claustrophobic ;D Had a bit of their espresso and it was great- food could've been delivered at a hotter temp; so although it had great flavor, the "un-fresh" feel when eating wasn't appealing, so a 4 star.
