Made In The Shade is the best!

Fast, professional service. Very knowledgeable. A large branch broke off of our old mesquite tree and they not only cleaned up the big mess, but they also worked in a way so that the rest of the tree will survive.

Our experience with Made In The Shade was exceptional. Danny was professional, transparent, and fair in his estimate. The crew that arrived was friendly and deeply knowledgeable (Travis, you rock!), and their work was thoughtful and elegant. Plus, their clean-up was above and beyond. We were profoundly pleased with how careful and kind they were to our mid-century trees. And though they did oodles of cutting, the impression they left was that the trees had always been that way. Thank you, Made In The Shade team; you were an incredible find!

Superior in every aspect - communication, tree rejuvenation and final appearance, teaching, cleanup, fair pricing, and professionalism of crew. I had concern about injury to a lush vine on a wall of a narrow corridor that the cuttings would have to pass, but with the care of the crew, I don't think a single leaf of the vine was lost.

I called Made in the Shade and was so happy when Dan said he’d be out in the morning to look at the trees I wanted pruned. Dan is extremely knowledgeable, personable and honest. Dan and his crew came out a week later to do the work and I was so impressed with all of them! Dan went over the job in detail with them and left them to perform the work agreed upon. 3 of the 5 trees had been badly pruned in the past so they required a lot more work to get them to back in shape. The three men were polite, professional and very neat! I was extremely happy with the work they did. I highly recommend Made in the Shade. Thank you for a job well done!

Good and bad. The guys who did the job were good. They knew what they were doing. The schedule was not accurate. I was initially told a one day job. Then the time was pushed earlier in the morning, despite my night work schedule. And on the first day, the guys quit an hour and a half before the scheduler told me they ended their day. Then they came back on another day, which impacted another work day for me; and worked for that hour and a half to finish the job. So if you have no work schedule to deal with it's probably easy. But the scheduling was not accurate to the job, and was disrespectful to what I asked for and was initially told.

I own and have owned several small businesses in Tucson that are all heavily customer service oriented. Like with any business, sometimes the stars don't line up and a ball is dropped. I contacted Made In The Shade a couple of months ago for a stump removal job and this played out for Danny and his team. Danny and I discussed the issues that happened and he worked extremely hard to come up with a solution. His team returned to my house and knocked the job out in no time!

Make In The Shade is an incredible company being led by Danny and his hard working team. I will definitely use them again and would certainly recommend them to anyone needing tree service in and around Tucson!

Some background from someone who worked for the company for about six months. First off the owner Danny is one of the most honest people I have ever worked for and I have worked for a number of company"s in the past both large and small. Made In The Shade is locally owned and is not out to hustle for every last penny and is actually looking to better the trees that are in need of treatment and will not butcher the trees like some of the company"s that drive around town, yes it may be slightly more expensive than the competition but if you are actually looking the improve the appearance of your tree and give it the best and healthy life it can live Danny is your guy! Made In The Shade will take a methodical approach to any situation and not just the easiest to ensure your tree is cared for the same way any owner would expect to care for it themselves, this means assessing the situation and setting a plan in place that will most effectively correct the issue the tree is having, from maybe just a trim to a clearance to maybe a problem limb being removed for the betterment of the tree. Another service offered that may interest you is the ability to completely remove a tree and provide stump grinding. This process depending on the tree usually takes about a day maybe more again depending on the tree being serviced (large or small), this may be done for a number of reasons, the customer has asked, the tree may be beyond the point of being saved or maybe it was blown down, again the list goes on and on. As I stated I was an employee for a number of months and I knew this was not going to be a long term job just something to sustain me until I was able to find more long term employment. The group of people that I worked with are some of the best group of people I have ever worked with. Travis, the lead climber and more than likely the next person you will have contact with if Danny is not around is one of the smartest people I have ever spoken with when it comes to trees, if you need anything answered about anything he's the go to guy. Nick, the ground supervisor and also like Travis a very hard worker keeps all the ground guys in check and makes sure that the work needing to be done indeed gets done with very little lollygagging around. Working on the ground is a very dangerous job and comes with its concerns like not being under the limbs being dropped and making sure the ground clean up is spotless and at the end of every job a quick but thorough walk through was performed by Nick or myself to ensure all debris was accounted for. All in all everyone with the company is amazing company and if you choose anyone to provide tree service to you trees give Danny and the Made In The Shade crew a call and your tree will thank you!

You thought they were awesome before, they have new equipment and cut down two palm trees, three bushes, ground all the stumps plus two more difficult stumps and fertilized a tree that looked like it needed some help. Plus cleaned up the yard all in THREE HOURS! Two of which while I slept in the room next to the grinding.

I’m writing to recommend Made in the Shade for tree pruning and thinning.
These folks pruned and thinned three of my trees, and they were amazing. Arrived on time (early even), did a great job, partnered with the zoo to turn trimmings into animal feed, and cleaned up completely.

If I could give more than 5 stars I really would. This was the first time we have ever had to hire someone for tree removal as first time homeowners and the wonderful team at Made in the Shade were so patient and helpful through the whole process. From the consultation to finishing the job, the whole crew were wonderful. We received 3 independent quotes and Made in the Shade stood out for many reasons. Their partnership with the Tucson Zoo to take African Sumac branches to feeding the animals, their polite nature, their wealth of information, and patience while answering my many, many questions.
Every single member of their crew involved in the job were polite, wonderful, and had a great sense of humor. They were incredibly thoughtful in their work, being respectful of our home, and went above and beyond with taking care to work around our grumpy desert tortoise.
They removed a large palm tree, a stubborn olive tree stump, an African sumac, and a cypress. These trees were either dying, causing damage to retaining walls, or potential threats if fallen over in a storm. After the crew came out it doesn't even look like any of these plants were there. We will be referring and working with Made in the Shade in the future.

The Made in the Shade crew showed up and quickly performed the work we had agreed upon. They were thorough and neat and actually went above and beyond to ensure that the work was done properly and they left the yard cleaner than it was when they started. They were professional and pleasant and knew their business. And best of all they made a lifelong friend in Jake the dog!

Trevor and Duncan are rad! Their guys are up to the date on the latest pruning techniques and use all required safety and professional gear. Good crew.

Danny, Trevor, and crew were fantastic. We have several mature trees that were all overdue a good prune. Made in the Shade came with a very large crew, took care of the excess growth, and cleaned up the mess in less than a full day - very happy with their presentation and product.

Made in the Shade took out a large bottlebrush tree on the part of our property maintained by our HOA, which scheduled and paid for the removal. The tree was about four feet from our neighbor's house, and was surrounded by assorted cacti, succulents and shrubs. The crew did not harm a leaf or spine on any of the surrounding plants, and cleaned up so thoroughly it's like they were never there. Really nice people, also, and they made it look easy. Highly recommend.

Dan and his crew made time for our small projects among all the posts monsoon cleanup. They did everything they promised to do: provided a detailed scope of work and fee quote, showed up exactly when promised, worked hard to complete our projects, at exactly the cost promised. We don't plan on ever using anyone else. Strongly recommend.
