Maria's The Gathering Place reviews
16My husband and came in for an early dinner. He got the Mahi Mahi and I got the rack of lamb. Both were cooked very well and it was very enjoyable. We would definitely come again!
Reservations recommended. Inside atmosphere comfortable with additional seating on a covered patio. Attentive servers and staff that are happy to answer questions. Food well prepared and plated in a appealing way. Full bar but lacks draft beer however good selection of canned and bottled beer.
I don't know if they have it every night but if the live music is playing it's ridiculously loud inside the dining room. My elderly parents are a little hard of hearing and we couldn't even carry on a conversation.
A delightful place to stop for great food, kind and helpful staff, and a great atmosphere for a little lunch or a little dancing on the veranda.
The service was great. The food was delicious. Found another green valley restaurant that is now a favorite.
Maria’s has become a hit or miss lately. Yesterday was another miss. Will be awhile before I return for lunch or dinner.
My last time at Maria's because of poor quality food. It used to be much better, maybe it has new owners.
Great meal. $30 special for 2. One appetizer to share, 2 entrées and 2 desserts. The Teriyaki chicken bowl was great and just enough.
This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool, the staff is also really friendly and good looking, lol. The music was surprisingly refreshing and made me smile when I heard some 90's unusual genres. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good and for their prices it’s 100% worth it. It was nice to have a hearty meal that was not fast food. Good job Maria's!
First time here tonight. The service was spot on. Everything else not so much. The food was especially disapointing. Im pretty sure the walleye is just swai. Pretty mushy for one of the best fresh water white fish. My previous experiences with walleye was more like halibut. We also ordered the pot roast. It was more like pan cooked chuck roast than tender fall apart pot roast. The mashed potatoes were great though. Both dishes came with underwhelming boiled vegies on the side. The music choice was odd considering Green Valley is mostly 55+. 90's rap and R&B. Overall we got the vibe of a restaurant you'd see on some tv show where the host "saves" the place. Prices were fair if the food was better.
Made a reservation for 6 on Saturday for Memorial day for lunch and assured us they were open that day. However, when we arrived they were closed. Terrible customer service!
Everything was great - an eleven out of ten! My server (Vince) was quick, friendly & attentive; the food (a salmon salad & martini) were perfect. I will definitely be telling my friends about this place.and coming back.: -D
Friends took us here for Mexican food and they were wrong. It's okay we enjoyed our meal. The sea food pasta was good and we all enjoyed our meal.
The service was good. I had seafood linguini for $27. Overpriced for what I got. Hardly any seafood and the sauce was bland. My husband had artichoke chicken. His also had no flavour. We had been here before and the food was great. Not this time,
Good spot to meet friends to talk and enjoy a meal. We were so engaged in conversation that we didn’t notice it was closing time. The staff was very polite and never hurried us, or made us feel like we needed to leave.
The Walleye fish dinner was tasty, but not exceptional. It was a nice big piece of fish that needed more of walnut butter sauce. The special was duck with mashed potatoes. Again, tasty, but not exceptional. The meals were adequate and filling.
Our server was nice, but not very attentive. He never brought our check, which is another reason we didn’t realize it was closing time. We didn’t have dessert because he didn’t offer a dessert menu.
The restaurant was clean and had nice ambiance. We would go back and try it again, but would definitely try different meals.
