A miss. We had high hopes here. Views are great. But our 12: 00 reservations received a beverage at 12: 25. In the meantime, the lunch menu had zero starters or options available while the table waits for service.

Our particular server never checked back with us. The kitchen staff came and put the food on the table in the meantime. We had to stand up and head to the hostess stand to get someone to notice we’d like service. We paid and left.

Hoping next time in town the menu has more Latin inspiration and options.

Beautiful view and delicious food! A little expensive but that's on par for Sedona. Our service was fine, but we overheard the other waiters saying the specials of the day which sounded really good but we missed out on ordering them because we weren't told about it. Shame!

Nothing Latin about it. Food was good but service was quite poor and menu options for lunch were very limited.

Of the many fine restaurants in the area, our experience last night was different in all the others, in the best ways. Every bite was perfectly prepared and the setting was comfortable and warm. We are anxious to return. Highly recommend the Filet

I can't say enough about Mariposa. The food was amazing and the service was excellent.

We started with the empanadas (beef) and then moved onto filets for dinner. Steaks were cooked exactly to order.

Perfect evening at a deluxe venue with the best views imaginable. We dined alfresco and although it was a bit cool in the evening they had a fireplace and overhead gas heat lamps that kept us cozy. Service was awesome margaritas were delicious food was perfect. Jesus was our server and took great care of us all evening long. Thank you we would love to come back someday.

Eview: Visiting Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill was nothing short of a splendid experience that seamlessly wove together the rich tapestry of culinary delight and awe-inspiring nature. Nestled in the embracing arms of the breathtaking red rock mountains, Mariposa offers not just a meal, but an exceptional dining journey. The Cuban steak we savored was a magnificent orchestration of flavors and textures, boasting a succulent, perfectly seared exterior and a tender, flavorful interior that sang of authentic Latin spices. The side of macaroni presented a comforting, creamy respite, complementing the robustness of the steak with its delicate cheese blend and al dente pasta. Every table affords a stunning view, making the aesthetic appeal of your plate rivaled only by the natural beauty just beyond the window. The service, too, was impeccable, meeting and exceeding every expectation with attentiveness, courtesy, and a genuine desire to enhance our dining experience. Mariposa is not merely a restaurant; it’s a destination, where each bite takes you on a gastronomic voyage under the gentle gaze of the enchanting red rock mountains. An absolute must-visit for any culinary adventurer or those seeking a serene escape amidst nature’s grandeur.

The 3% "Business Fee" is very bush league. Kinda like a "resort fee" at a hotel. Am I expected to tip on that fee? I thought Lisa was a sharper business woman than that. Food was great but the fee leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Immaculate ambiance with a delicious varied fusion menu. Each course was better than the last. The empanadas rivaled those I've had in Miami and from my family from PR. The skirt steak was divine. The meat was succulent, cooked and seasoned to perfection. The dessert was even better than it looked.

Mariposa was absolutely wonderful. The service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. We didn’t get a chance to see the wonderful views since we came for dinner, but we still enjoyed it nonetheless. Whether you're having a family dinner or a romantic date night, it's a fantastic choice. I highly recommend tourists visiting the area to give it a try

Title: Culinary Excellence Framed by Nature at Mariposa

Review: Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill transports its guests into a world where culinary finesse meets natural wonder, offering a symphony of flavors set against the stunning backdrop of the vibrant red rock mountains. The instant warmth of the ambiance, combined with an immersive, tranquil view, set the stage for a memorable dining escapade. Opting for the Cuban steak, we were treated to a melody of robust, well-rounded flavors, masterfully combined and cooked to utter perfection. The steak whispered tales of Latin heritage with every bite, juicy, and bursting with subtle spices that danced on the palate. A side of macaroni, unassumingly delightful, cradled the palate in a velvety hug of rich, creamy goodness, providing a harmonious counterbalance to the hearty steak. Every aspect of service was polished to perfection - thoughtful, prompt, and subtly anticipatory, adding a golden thread to the woven tapestry of our experience. Mariposa, with its enchanting views and gastronomic explorations, unfurls a splendid adventure that marries the art of fine dining with the timeless beauty of nature’s canvas, promising an experience that caresses both the palate and the soul.

Celebrated my 50th birthday here at sunset and the restaurant and views were absolutely stunning. The steak was the best of my life paired with a nice red wine. What a special evening!

You get what you pay for, it’s good food, great staff, good standard of food and drink, and consistent.

Disappointing. We had uninspiring food and mediocre service. We had previously visited a couple years ago and were excited to return. This restaurant was filed with tourists and no locals; that should have been our first clue that something was off. Our focaccia was burnt and things never really improved. I think the restaurant and chef are relying more on their past awards and recognition than focusing on quality. Unfortunately I would pass.

We arrived at 1: 02 for our 1pm reservation. Our visit started off on the wrong foot, the hostess was overwhelmed with her responsibilities when we walked in, she ignored us, let us stand Without a greeting, while she informed a lady ahead of us no available reservations til Monday. Then she picked up menus and walked around the corner and said this is your table, but it wasn't set up. She motioned us to step back to the lobby area and said someone would be right back to finish setting up. We asked if we could sit at anyone of the 8 unoccupied tables on the patio, she said "no", that's impossible with same day reservations. " (NOTE: 4 of the 8 tables were still vacant when we left after 2pm.) After approximately 5 minutes she walked back to our mandated table in the bar, obviously the bartenders did not want anymore tables, because the table was still not set up. The hostess walked over to the service area picked up plates and water glasses but no silverware roll-ups. She set the menus down, did not hand them to us as one would expect in a self-described field dining restaurant. She did not inform us that Diego would be our server and that he would be with us shortly, she just walked away. After several minutes Diego came to the table, continually looked around the bar area without making eye contact and asked if we cared for drinks. We replied yes asked about a bar menu and Diego fished them out of the stack of menus left. He made some drink suggestions and we ordered our drinks, he left and made the observation out loud, that we had no silverware. Shortly thereafter he returned with our delicious libations and without making any suggestions or recommendations, told us that you were sold out of a pork dish listed on the menu. Then he suggested empanadas, for the table and said he could up grade to 4 portions. We declined the suggestions and proceeded to order, with Diego continuously checking the bar area and not making eye contact while he took our order. Before he left he informed us that we would be getting team service and he pointed to one of the other bartenders. The kitchen did a great job snd Diego returned with our food which was outstanding by the way, but again he did not make eye contact and walked away from the table. In fact, he never returned to the table to see if our food was too to our liking, if we wanted another round of drinks, or even offer us water to refill our empty glasses. However, Much to our delight the food was outstanding, and I would say the gazpacho was the best I ever had. Finally, after we had long finished our meal and no return from Diego, I made eye contact with his teammate and asked for more water and the check. He brought the check but only filled my water glass. We put our cards in the check minder, but he didn't return. One member of our party left the check-minder hanging over the edge of the table with a glass sitting on it to prevent from falling. Finally he picked up the checkminder and returned promptly for signatures. We NEVER heard one thank you nor please come back. Our lower than 20% tip reflected our dissatisfaction with service, and one member of our party said the kitchen deserved the whole tip because the food was outstanding! My brother and his wife brought here, because they have dined at Mariposa many times, always had a great experience and a beautiful view; it was my partner's and mine's first trip. To say the least very disappointed in this experience. On the way out of the parking lot my brother stated that he didn't plan on returning. Note, A little guidance or supervision from management to the service/host staff probably would have corrected most issues, including taking charge of the delivery of outdoor heaters that the hostess had to deal with while taking care of us and other customers at the door.

The food here was amazing but the atmosphere is what really takes the cake. Sexy, mysterious and very upscale.

This is our favorite place to eat when we come to Sedona. We sat on the patio. This visit however the shade screen was broken and so I sat for a few minutes with the sun in my eyes. Luckily, a chair was available and I was able to move and sit with the sun on the side of my face. We started with perfectly cooked sea scallops with a mild spicy mango salsa. We had an amazing kale salad with bacon. We ordered a cab franc from Chile which was potable. The lamb chops were good. The sauce wasn’t exciting. Our desserts were wry good. I would say the kale salad and desserts were the best part of this meal, which was unusual. In the past everything was amazingly delicious. Maybe we ordered the wrong items. We will be back. The ambiance is beautiful and the views spectacular!

I was excited for this place. I will say the views and atmosphere are amazing. But this place is not worth the price. The food at best is OK. For the price I was expecting way better taste and quality. The drinks were good, but for a place to say they have a dress code they better be good, which it wasn’t. Highly disappointed. Also, when we walked in the manager was arguing with the cook in the front of the restaurant. This is supposed to be an upscale place. Failed on every level. Skip this place
