The best breakfast in Phoenix. 10/10 customer service, even more incredible food. I couldn't recommend this place enough! You also get a big plate and it's affordable.

Matt's Big Breakfast is an institution for a reason—it's usually a solid spot for some hearty morning grub. I'd give it a 4-star rating based on my experience.

I ordered the Five Spot Platter, and let's start with the good stuff. The sandwich was a hit! The eggs were cooked just right, the bacon was crispy but not overly so, and the bread was perfectly toasted. It's clear that they know their way around a breakfast sandwich, and it's the kind of meal that sets a high standard for the rest of your day.

However, it wasn't a flawless experience. The homefries that came with the platter were a letdown. They were cold and hard, almost like they'd been sitting out for a while before making it to my plate. Considering how well-executed the sandwich was, the lackluster homefries were a noticeable weak point in an otherwise great meal.

Service was prompt and friendly, and the ambiance has that cozy, hometown diner feel, which adds to the overall experience.

So, all in all, Matt's Big Breakfast is a strong contender for your breakfast needs, but there's room for improvement in making sure all elements of the meal are up to par. I'd still recommend it, but maybe skip the homefries next time.

What a great breakfast. Beautiful dishes that are made with simple fresh ingredients. Matt needs to ditch the heavy and loud metal chairs. Ruins the experience

First time customer but I’ll be back before I fly back to the east coast. Price and portions are fair. Probably the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Turkey sausage was yummy. Employees anticipated my needs before I had to ask. Had more coffee and butter quicker than I could blurt out the request. Solid.

I actually didn't get to eat inside. I was seated and served coffee, then looked at the menu and was surprised to see how small their breakfast menu is at 8am. The chairs are solid metal with no cushions and are really uncomfortable. So the wife and i decided to eat elsewhere. The waitress was very nice, i felt bad telling her we were leaving already and gave us free coffee. A tip was still left for her. I can't give them 5 stars and can't give less than 3.

Wasn't super packed but the food was not good. Bacon was cold, eggs were probably an omelet but they scrambled them super hard and brown. Highlight were the Blueberry pancakes, fresh & hot. Service was weird, not the most friendly waitress she stood far away. Not the same Matt's, done with this location.

Quality food, relaxed atmosphere, plenty or menu options haven't found anything on the menu I don't like. I bring every out of town friend here for breakfast/brunch!

I rarely give 5 stars and this place deserves it. The food is excellent—the waffles holy smokes —and priced well, and the servers are all very friendly and professional. I’m so glad I finally live 9 minutes away, I will be back many more times.

I love this place so much! Their salad is organic and they only cook in olive oil and real butter. Health is wealth, amen!

How is this place popular at all? We went for breakfast and the menu options were pretty lame, the food was bland and tasteless. I was very disappointed and do not recommend this place.

An excellent option for breakfast in Phoenix, something quick, traditional and with very good service.

The food was wonderful. The staff was nice, but the chairs screeching on the floor was awful whenever anyone stood up or sat down.it was ear piercing and very distracting

Matts big breakfast is a Phoenix classic and for good reason. They have a store downtown and I was happy to see this location at 32nd Street and Camelback. A rather small space and with quite a bit of business. They do lots of things right, number one is service, fast and friendly. The pork chop they add a little pesto to and then fire grill. The potatoes are Yukon Gold with Rosemary. Breakfast comes out fast and it's good quality and good portion. Try that thick cut bacon.

Some of the best breakfast you will find in the area. The bacon is perfect, the waffles and pancakes are delicious. The only down side is it's almost always packed and a bit noisy. As an introvert I just call in for take out now.

I came here because my daughter's pediatrician recommended it. I was not thrilled with the food. I had the French Toast and bacon with a hash brown as an additional side. The French Toast tasted like sourdough bread and was very mushy. The bacon had a jerky like texture and lacked flavor. My daughter had the blueberry griddle cakes (pancakes). She said they were decent. Both of our hash browns were the highlight of our meal. The hash browns were crispy and nice sized. They were seasoned with salt and pepper.

Monday July 10,2023 - Came here for the first time in a long time with a friend. Love the vibes this place has. Peaceful and pretty quiet. We were told to seat ourselves and we liked that. My friend got the steak and eggs from Sunday and she loved it. I took her recommendation and got an order to go for my boyfriend (he loved it too). I got the 3 pancakes and they were good. Great flavor. They were very fluffy. I didn’t eat a lot b/c I am personally a fan of thinner pancakes and I got super full fast (I know that’s weird. Most people like them fluffy). Be careful of the syrup. It’s super good, and can be hot, so handle with care, especially when children are at the table. Food cost was relatively low even with the increase in food costs. Value was great.

My favorite breakfast spot in Phoenix, hands down. All of their food is fresh, delicious, and large portion sizes. Haven't had a bad bite.

Fresh squeezed all I really need to say every order everytime fresh homemade everything I mean everything right down to the jam/jelly spread and juice. The level of quality here is unmatched here in PHX and or anywhere for that matter. When they know what matters everything else seems to not matter. Epic find! Best food and attention to detail on the planet or at least in the lower 48 chow Bella
PS hog and chick fav that's a perfect portion and sample of the quality that extends through every part of what they offer. We are not worthy!
