May Garden Restaurant reviews
16May Garden has been a favorite of mine for over two decades. I live far from the restaurant but I make sure I eat there whenever possible and always on my birthday. This was one of the first restaurants my wife and I ate at when we first started dating. The buffet is well kept and the food is delicious. The staff is courteous and the restaurant is nice and clean. In fact, I'm going there today even though it's a 25 minute drive. The meatballs and fried rice are my favorites with the egg rolls high on the list. I love dipping my egg rolls in sweet & sour sauce then dipping in fried rice, yummy! I will probably be moving to Northern Arizona soon and if I do, one thing I'll miss very much is the May Garden restaurant. But even then I'll remember to eat there when I visit the Phoenix area.
I've been going to May Garden for a few years now. I live in Maricopa and we drive at least 50 miles one way for this excellent Chinese food. We found this place after a very similar Chinese buffet called HIMS closed. The food is very similar and is Delicious. They have the best sweet and sour pork, fried chicken and egg rolls bar none. The portion sizes are enormous. You'll get enough for at least two people or three servings for yourself. The place is small and can get kind of busy. If you want to take out you should call ahead and then you won't have to wait other than just to pay for your food. Great customer service.
This place is really good! It's an absolute staple in west Phx. I mean If you know you know. Every item they serve is amazing. I have 2 qualms with this place. They eggrolls are not how I like them. And the location is a lil sketchy. Otherwise I would've 5 that bih!
Been a customer for over 30 years and my family loves this place. For the money, it's a great value. I would recommend this restaurant any day of the week.
UPDATE 12/23/21
Still the best value for take out. Can easily get 3-5 meals if you don't scarf it all down in one sitting. Buffet dining is back open, they just ask you use hand sanitizer and gloves each time before you get food. They provide the sanitizer and gloves, so if you are ready to dine in for all you can eat they now include the drink in the price.
Must be the oldest Chinese restaurant in Arizona. There is a reason they are still in business.food is fabulous! If you have never had their Ginger Wings. It's a must have. No one makes them as delicious.
Simply the best buffet in Phoenix. Food is fresh and flavorful. Owner and staff are professional and kind. Prices are very fair. Well worth the drive every single time. Give it a try folks!
I went for dinner. The food was hot and fresh. It tasted very good. Everyone was wearing masks who I saw there. Everyone was polite and the servers kept refilling our drinks and clearing our empty plates so if we wanted more food we could easily go and serve ourselves. We beat the rush. I loved it!
This place is terrible. Hadn't been here in many years and the food is tasteless and colorless. It's gross. The egg rolls where made in the same pan as the cinnamon balls so the outside tasted like a churro. They have very few items and can't even make those right. I have never been to a buffet and been this upset in my life. ALL the food is gross. I wouldn't eat here for free.
Hands down best food in all of the valley! Cheap as well. Make sure you ask for some chili oil. The fried chicken is tomdir for as well. Don't sleep on it!
My favorite restaurant ever. My entire family has been going here since I could remember. Here’s why we love them:
•it’s a buffet
•food is tasty
•staff is always in top of it
Dirty place uncomfortable to eat there while looking at the stains on walls, floors and roof. Makes you wonder what the kitchen is like where the food is prepared. Also food taste plain and watered down.
Love this place! Food is always good and the prices are great! Not a massive selection, so if that's what you want, this might not be the place for you. If you want great service and yummy food at a reasonable price, this is the place to go!
Really good food, been going here for many years. A couple items too avoid is the orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken, most breaded and hard too eat. Other than that food is good and friendly people.
Coming here to dine in is a very welcome feeling and I've known the owners here for such a long time. My son's father was the cook there for many years. If I could I would rate this a NUMBER 10! Grace& Ramon, much love to you both. I had lots of good memories here
Very delicious, I've eaten there and always loved the experience and the flavor of every bite.even during pandemic take days were a very great visit well sanitized and careful with health regulations. I want to thank may garden for thier service and great delicious food,.
I drive to location from Mesa. Good food. Better if you eat in or if you do Carry Out open your tray so food don't get sweaty. Prices have gone up and understand.
