I hired Mayes Telles law firm to represent me and was very disappointed in the way my case was handled. Just 4 days after I hired them my case was dropped by the prosecutor due to my ex not wanting to move forward with the case. They did no work on my case and I let my lawyer Nicole Lopez know that I no longer needed representation. They basically kept giving me the run around when I asked for the billable hours and if I could get a refund for the $4,500 I put down for them to do nothing. I have to speak to 4 people from their team and send emails. After all of the calls they told me that accounting department would reach out to me and it could take weeks or months to get any billing information. Basically, they just want to keep your money for doing absolutely nothing! Highly unethical business practices. I'm still waiting for a response from the account department. If you need a good lawyer that will conduct themselves ethically from a business stand point.do not go with this office. Let me 1st start with the fact I wish I had found Shahin Damoui sooner. After serving almost seven months in jail, I was released on May 13th 2020 and was just allowed to come home to NV on March 18th 2021 after just 1 month of him representing me. From the moment I applied to ISC for a transfer to NV I had gotten nothing but the run around from my probation officer who was supposedly relaying information back to me because no one at ISC would take my calls or return my emails.

First, I was told that ISC was not taking applications at that time due to Covid 19 and to check back in a month. A month later when I attempted to apply ISC rejected my application saying I was behind on probation fee's and fines AZ had started charging me probation fee's six months before I was released from jail. Instead of arguing we paid $595.00 to get caught up and attempted to apply again.

Next, they said I had not been compliant long enough in AZ for them to feel comfortable allowing me to even apply at that time. They didn't even take into consideration that I had been living in NV for 2 years with my fiance of 18 years and 14 year old son prior to my being sentenced, owned a business, or that I had no ties to AZ other than my mother which meant no job or place to live. I was told that I had to remain compliant for 6 months before I could re-apply.

Not wanting to be away from my family for another six months I took the advice from a friend and hired a attorney that turned out to be a complete waste a time and money. He never even contacted probation or ISC. Instead he got a motion from a judge to allow me to apply which I was already allowed to do which per my probation officer would have just been denied for the same reasons.

In Dec after six months I attempted to re-apply and was told ISC was still closed and it would take another thirty to forty-five days. In January I asked about applying yet again and was told that because I had an open case for something in NV that has nothing to do with anything I would need to wait until it was resolved in May before I could apply.

After almost seven months in jail and nine months of excuses I finally decided I had had enough and decided to seek counsel which is when my wife found Mayes Telles, and I first met with Shahin Damoui, I can't begin to describe not only the level of professionalism he showed from the beginning, but the personal interest he showed was second to none. For the first time all of this mess began I actually felt confident I had someone in my corner.

In under 3 weeks he had accomplished more than I had in nine months. From the moment he took my case everything changed. My probation officer became very helpful after speaking to him just once. I don't think one day went by that he didn't call and email ISC. He went through at least three people and simply would not take no for an answer. Within two weeks my application was sent through to NV. Shahin could of stopped there but he did not. He immediately started contacting NV and even though they legally have forty-five days to complete their investigation it was approved within two weeks and I got reporting instructions to go home. Shahin simply refused to take NO for an 'answer and went above and beyond for me and my family. It didn't matter if it was after hours or on a weekend when he had time he made himself available.

He is now helping me modify my probation to unsupervised to make my life even easier. I have all of the confidence in him that he will get it accomplished because he is just that good at what he does. If you are looking for someone that will attack your case with the same manner of perserverance and professionalism as my case was handled that look no further, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I hired Mayes Telles and luckily got Shahin Damoui as our attorney in Feb of 2021. My husband had served 6 months and 2 weeks in jail for securities fraud and his transfer back to NV even though we had lived here prior for 2 years was considered discretionary. He got out in May and we constantly got the run around due to us not being married, covid, not doing transfers, you name it we heard it, bottom line it was one thing after the next, it was a nightmare. We hired another attorney and all it cost was more money and absolutely nothing happened, he did not even contact probation or Interstate Compact. I am telling you from when Shahin Damoui 1st contacted his probation officer and rattled the chains at Interstate Compact the process got moving rather quickly, matter of fact, within 2 weeks all paperwork was from probation to Interstate Compact to now NV. Now NV has 45 days to accept but it literally took a total of 2 weeks to come to our home and for reporting instructions to be sent so he could be home, all in all, 1 month total timeframe, and that was due to Shahin's persistence in this case. If you truly want a shark of an attorney that is dedicated, loyal and truly cares about you then Shahin Damoui should be your counsel. I have had to hire attorneys in the past for legal issues but I was shocked at what a hands on approach he took, he is truly amazing and we are so lucky to have found him.

I contacted the firm regarding an old case from over 10 years ago. Richard Simmons was the gentlemen that helped me on the phone and done an outstanding job. Richard went out of his way to make calls and look up different courts to make sure I was in the clear even though I didn't end up needing their services. Very friendly and professional!

If you are considering this firm, do yourself a favor, and go literally ANYWHERE else!

My attorney was a total rip off. I'd be here all day if I mentioned everything. For $5k. I got a lawyer that "had never been to trial before", and had an assistant there to help him.apparently she didn't have trial experience either. (They were literally breaking out textbooks and reading them during the trial) Needless to say I lost, and did not get adequate representation. They fumbled like 10 year old fat kid wearing a helmet for the first time.

I appealed, and then was given notice that I had to cough up thousands more dollars for the appeal.and the best part was.get this. I had 8 hours to cough it up. Yeah, my $5,000 dollar attorney for a misdemeanor couldn't bother to let me know until 8 hours before it was too late.
