McGrath Nothman PC reviews
5I was referred to Paul from my Insurance Agent. I couldn't be more thankful. Paul has been nothing but helpful from day one. I have a new business and he has answered so many questions for me along the way, and is always offering tips and advice to help me be more successful. I would recommend this agency to anyone. Thank you for your support!
Fabulous, responsive service with thoughtful advice and helpful guidance. You are both much appreciated!
Paul Nothman has been our accountant both for my business and personal returns for 4 years now and I highly recommend him. Not only is he very knowledgeable in his field, he goes out of his way to explain things and has always answered my questions promptly and accurately. Outstanding customer service as well. I'm a very happy client!
If you own a small business and don't use Chuck and Paul as your CPA, you are doing yourself and your business a misdeed. These guys are patient, helpful, and incredibly knowledgable. An A+ experience.
I met with Chuck and I would agree with the other reviewer that he is a bit condescending as if I wasn't well prepared enough for him with my spreadsheets, last years returns, notes, 1099 forms, deductions organized in a spreadsheet, etc.
He seemed very disinterested in helping me with my taxes which prompted me to, at the end of our meeting, ask "is this something that you're comfortable with taking on" to which he replied (very aloof) "yeah but not until May". There were a lot of mannerisms like, scratching his head in frustration and dropping his hands on the table as if to say, this is ridiculous. I felt as though I was wasting his time when I drove to his office and am more than prepared to pay his $300 per hour rate.
Eventually, while trying to set up a time/date in May he told me that he has changed his mind and no longer wants to work with me. I believe it to be because I corrected him on the dates that he sent me to schedule from. He had sent me an email saying that he is available May the 10th, Friday but, May the 10th is a Thursday. So, I simply wanted to be clear on which date to schedule. I am sure that he didn't like being "corrected" even though I was nothing but courteous with him the entire time.
Most of my emails began with, "thank you again for taking the time to meet with me" and ended with "I appreciate your assistance" etc. Basically, things he should be saying to me as the client (not vice-versa). Instead, he was short and uninterested in his responses and in our meeting. I felt uncomfortable and judged as if I was some kid that didn't know what I was doing and it was up to him whether he wanted to waste his time with me or not. In the end, I guess he chose to not.
I'll be more than fine, I'm actually very well versed in business income, deductions, tax forms, spreadsheets, etc. I really don't need to be made to feel that way especially, when I am educated. I'm not at all surprised that he declined to help me with my sole proprietorship taxes given his demeanor during our meeting and via email. He must make more than enough money than to deal with someone who can easily pay his asking rate and has all of his documents organized and available.
