Moon Valley Nurseries, Chandler AZ

A staff member was a little rude when approached as I had some questions. His responses made it seem like he just wanted me out.

Purchased a tree and had them install Install was so bad tree was at a 30 degree angle called office and Robert was less than helpful. Finally told them I would hire another nursery to fix their mess. Purchased extended warranty which appears to be a gimmick to squeeze a little more money out of you. Will never do business there again

Terrible experience. My husband and I walked around the nursery looking for a specific tree. We walked back to the front to ask for help in the assistance area. When we asked an associate where we could find the tree, he pointed three different directions where we could find 3 different sizes of the tree. What horrible service, he wouldn’t walk us over to the trees. So my husband and I went looking again and had no luck finding this tree in the 3 locations. We then found another associate who was helping another couple. We kindly ask him if he knew where the tree was in that location. He said we would have to just look around for it or we could go back up to the front and ask someone to look it up in the computer system. What a waste of time. We were sent running around looking for a tree that may not have even been there or maybe it was but could not get any help finding it. Such horrible service. I would not recommend this place.

Spent about 2 hours shopping around.decided on one of your 6k financing options and went to ask the guy up front for details about setting it up and to ask on availability for some of your Huge trees.he wasn’t wearing a mask, acted annoyed that we asked for details.he said they had nothing else he could tell me about it.no brochure and when asked if I could find details online he said ‘sometimes’. I’ll take my business elsewhere. Your location obviously doesn’t want or need it. Disappointing.

They have plants that should be used in Arizona (sometimes the big box nurseries have plants that don't grow well in AZ). Their staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Great selection.

We had the best experience at the Chandler location today. Manny was very knowledgeable and fun and helped us find the most beautiful plants! He showed us a pink jasmine vine that is so fragrant our entire backyard smell amazing! Andrew also helped us out with some heavy lifting and selecting our 2 citrus trees. We couldn’t be more happy with our shopping trip and we will definitely be back.

Excellent customer service and massive quantities to choose from. Sale prices are very competitive. Best nursery in the valley.

Ridiculously expensive. Bought 3 palm trees for nearly $1,000, one of them was delivered with half of the fronds cut in half because it had started to die already before getting to me. Went to Home Depot later only to realize I could have gotten the same product that looked better for $200. Found out the hard way.

BEWARE - deceptive sales tactics and one-sided contract

I visited this location to purchase a Chinese Pistachio tree, as I like the change of color they provide. Wanted something small to plant and grow up in the yard. Was told, no problem, we have those, and taken to a row of trees which were fairly large. The price was also quite large, even after the claimed 50% discount so I asked if they might have something smaller? I was then told "this is the only size of this tree. " It was a lot of money so called the wife who said that was too much.

So after that I am told, "Oh, I just meant that was the only size of tree in this row, let me show the smaller ones. " Was then taken to a different row of trees which were smaller. Still a bit much but with the offered free planting we decided it would be ok.

Once back at the sales counter, then I am told, "Oh, there is a $150 charge to bring the tree out to you to plant it". So I had a careful look at the sales contract. Their contract actually wants you to indemnify them for any damages to utilities or other property they might cause while planting the tree. Additionally they want to not be responsible for any damage they might cause to your property while planting the tree. When I brought this to the attention of the salesperson, they said no problem, strike what you like (not clear to me such a salesperson actually has the authority to do that, but struck these terms from both copies).

After I got home I decided to investigate a bit further. It turns out same type of tree is available for 1/3 price at other nurseries. So I tried calling to cancel the order. No answer so left a message. Also tried using the online chat with them on their website. Person there said that someone would call me back to confirm cancellation. No one ever called over the course of the next 3 days, despite two additional calls with messages.

Finally disputed the charge on my credit card. To which Moon Valley Nurseries did not respond so was refunded. After that I received two contacts from people at Moon Valley Nurseries via Yelp messaging, both also claiming that someone would call to resolve this. But noone ever spoke with me about this.

In summary, perhaps nice stock but best to avoid this terrible level of customer service.

Ray was super helpful and knowledge about all the fruit trees. I appreciate how friendly and understanding he was with our backyard project.

Moon valley nursery has all one needs when seeking to landscape their property. Zach an employee of Moon valley nursery was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. He helped myself and my husband pick exactly what we needed. Excellent customer service.

Zach was very helpful with information on Camellias and patient with me not knowing what to plant and gave me an idea with plant trellis

SUPERSTARS MANNY, CARLY, ADAM AND JEFF! Debating about replacing trees and shrubs that didn't survive the summer's extreme heat, I searched the big box stores, other local nurseries and finally stopped by Moon Valley on S. Arizona Ave.in Chandler just to look around. I was impressed! Not only were their trees and shrubs big, healthy and beautiful, I was VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE STAFF. I half-expected to get some fast-talking salesperson that would be pushy and try to force me into something I didn't want and more so couldn't afford! I was wrong. Manny was especially kind and patient as I pondered my decision. He was amazing! On subsequent visits, Manny has continued to be truly terrific! Jeff (from corporate) was great and very helpful. Carly and Adam, at the front, went way above and beyond to help me and make sure everything was just right. They were exceptional! Great job! Super happy with Jacob and the installation team, as well. SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO MANNY, CARLY AND ADAM! Thanks so much! I highly recommend Moon Valley on S. Arizona! Find Manny!

Had a great experience this afternoon at Arizona Avenue location. I drove in just after they closed. There were still a couple of cars in the lot. As I walked towards the entrance path I noticed the checkout booth was closed. A worker ran up to me and explained that they close earlier this time of year. I said I was needing some Palm Juice for my trees. The worker said he could help me & grabbed a bottle of palm juice complimentary and sent me on my way. I will be back to this business again for sure for my planting needs. What a great move by this worker! Thank-you!

Horribly expensive. They charged $150 for delivery which is ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend this place to buy trees.

Amazing experience with Zach! Go talk to Zach. He knows his plants, trees, etc. Not often you meet someone with this knowledge. He will tell you his favorites and all the pros and cons. He was good with placement of plants as well.

Zachary was incredibly helpful! He is very knowledgeable about trees and shrubs. He made great recommendations. Very pleased and we visit Moon Valley nurseries quite often. They are great!
