I have actually NOT stayed here. I have tried calling them 3 days in a row. Nobody answers. I have left voice mails and E-mails with NO response. How does someone expect to operate a business with this kind of service. Reading the recent reviews have changed my mind about wanting to stay here.

I finally was able to speak with the offsite company who manages reservations. They were totally useless and could not answer any of my questions. I will make reservations elsewhere. I suggest you do the same.

We camp nearby and have always wanted to stay here. Been coming here for breakfast and lunch for years so we were sad to hear they no longer serve breakfast as their hours are 11a-8p Thur-Sun.
The staff are really good folks and pleasing to talk with. The Zane Grey museum integrated into this dining experience makes it entertaining and enjoyable for people of all ages. And regardless if they ever bring back their mickey mouse chocolate chip pancakes we will still stop in everytime for the food and inspiration of the old west and of wildlife

This place has so much potential. But, the cabins were so dirty. There was a dirty towel hanging behind the bathroom door, the bath mat was filthy as was the floor, especially under the beds! We had no extra rolls of toilet paper in either of the cabins we rented. The fans were dusty. One cabin had no coffee filters and the basket underneath where the filter goes was dirty. The shower knobs were ancient and impossible to get temperature-regulated water. When I looked under the bathroom sink for spare toilet paper rolls, it was mounds of dirt, not even a shelf.
The steakhouse food was mediocre. Our waitress was a bit "off". She seemed confused about when to bring the kids their drinks. When we were done eating, she brought our check and said "you don't look like you want dessert so here's your check. " How would she know that? There were 10 of us. We booked our rooms a few weeks out and when I checked the website it offered a much cheaper rate but they wouldn't honor that. We paid $150 a nite but it wasn't worth even half that.

Reserved a cabin for 2 nights. Only stayed for one due to the lack of air conditions, condition of the cabin, etc……
Horrible, horrible place to stay.
9-11-2023 Business did not respond to my complaint and also failed to respond to BBB.

Friday at 6pm. Very few patrons should have given it away.
Cafeteria food being sold at a steakhouse. Over priced for what you get. Boxed appetizers, frozen hamburger patties. Will not return.

Bummer. It was good and now it’s not so good. Steak was a 2. Service was one excuse after another.

Visited the steakhouse only. Very limited menu. Poor service though the one server did the best she could

I stayed there last weekend and if I could give this review 0 stars I would. Short version it was too hot and we got no help from them to cool our cabin down. We didn’t even stay the second night because we were worried about our pups who were panting nonstop the whole weekend. There was tons of cobwebs and dust inside the cabin. The bathroom had black mold and the kitchenette sink was clogged making the cabin smell weird.

Long version. First off I understand most places/homes in northern AZ don’t have AC, I get it. But our cabin (#23) was so HOT, I’d guesstimate between 85-90 degrees inside. It was so hot it was hard to breathe in our cabin, it was hot enough that our deodorant melted. We asked the front desk if they could have someone cover the high east facing window to prevent further sun from coming in and all they did was give us a shower curtain. It was way too high for us to even try to reach to put it up. Only 2 small windows opened and leaving them open at night didn’t help. Since most windows were East facing it got hot by 8/8: 30 am. We had our dogs with us and they were panting the whole time. We asked for a partial refund and it was denied, we couldn’t and didn’t sleep in our cabin the second night. We were not the only ones that complained either, they told us at least one other couple asked for a refund that same day. We had others in our group also staying at MLL and their cabins were not even close to how hot our cabin was. Their two cabins were slightly warm but not hot and with the windows open at night it cooled down inside. It clearly gets hot enough if the reservations office has a window AC unit but they won’t help with their cabins that they have paying customer stay in.
Secondly, the sink in the kitchenette was clogged so it smelled bad as soon as you walked inside. There were dust and cobwebs in all sorts of areas in the cabin and bathroom.
Speaking of the bathroom, we were informed there was a “small stain” in the tub and when we got there it was definitely noticeable, however, there was black mold in the shower which was more concerning. There were also all sorts of small bugs in the bathroom.

Overall, it was such a disappointing weekend to say the least especially because this was our wedding venue back in 2016.
I can confidently say I don’t plan on staying there again and will not be recommending it as a play to stay to anyone I know. It was not worth the amount they were charging.

We stopped by the country store while camping. They had all of the basics you might forget. We picked up some ice cream, beer and snacks. Very friendly staff and good selection.

Elk View cabin has NO AIR CONDITIONING and we asked for the nicest cabin available when making reservation. No mention was made that the cabins had no A/C. Ceiling fan had an extreme wobble and many of the windows did not open or would open. It was very uncomfortable and we left early the next morning even though we had reservations for 2 nights ($458.00 total). Hideaway bed was like sleeping on bare springs and in our opinion the cabin needed a cleaning and repairs.

The our reservation was cancelled a few times. The reservation was made in someelse's name and my sister was travelling with her. Her fiend had to cancel because of a family issue. So I agreed to go but did not realize they were charging us $100 a night for each person. I was outraged and emailed them a week ago and have not heard back and tried to call but line was busy. I wish I would have asked the couple next to us if they were charged $200 a night because there were 2 people in the cabin or the gentlemen that had 2 kids with him so he would have to pay $300 based on their policy

Place has become garbage under new management. Rooms are dirty and honestly gross especially considering price. My sheets have BLOOD STAINS! How is this acceptable? !? It’s been a steady and severe decline over the last few years and there’s clearly nobody willing to correct this corse due to people still coming for the nostalgia of how nice it used to be. Restaurant is horrible, they charge 30+ dollars for the thinnest steak imaginable with cold sides. Really a shame considering how great this place used to be. Clear example of corporations taking a nice place and screwing it up.

The location is great and the place has so much potential. However, rustic does not mean unkept. Be prepared for cobwebs all over the interior of your room (I’m showing just one for reference), windows that don’t open, mildew in your tub, and limited or no outdoor seating. Not quite aligned with what they charge.

Our cabin was nice, beds and pillows were excellent and the room was clean.
What made it an excellent experience is the people that work there.

We stayed at our family cabin that has been there for many many years. So it's not applicable to report other than it's just such a lovely place to visit. If you get a chance to go to the lodge you should try. The other questions are not applicable to my situation. Enjoy

Beautiful and peaceful serenity here with several cabins that kids would stay in for those that go to summer camp and even my own brother stayed at the cabins when he was a kid and went to camp here.

Mormon Lake is truly a disappointment. It's way too expensive for what you get. We RV'd here for several years, suffering through monsoon flooding in the Rv Campground and packed in conditions. Most of the staff are rude and noncaring. There's no lake, so no fishing, restaurant and Pizza Parlor are hit and miss along with the bar. Never coming back!
