I love working out at this gym on my lunch break. The equipment is all brand new and nothing is ever out of service! The gym is big and you don’t feel cramped like other gyms! The staff is friendly and gym is always clean especially the bathrooms!

Such an awesome gym. Chris helped my wife and I get all signed up. Great facility with helpful staff. My favorite part is how many machines they have and smoothies!

I love this location. Very clean and friendly staff. The towel service is a huge plus. Fully recommend this gym!

They keep it clean and well ventilated. There's a smoothie station and childcare and they offer lots of classes. Price of membership is reasonable and easy to pause or cancel

Husband and I just recently moved here from out of state and needed a gym. We love this place! Always clean, the staff is kind and helpful and so much equipment to choose from.

I wanna give a shout out to the entire front desk crew that works there. Always kind and friendly as I walk in. Special shout out to Hannah who always is going above and beyond making sure you the place is looking great, towels are clean and folded for the customers, And makes the best shakes. Top notch service and facilities. Thanks for making my experience so special.

This review will be the last ounce of energy I spend on this location. The front staff person Kyle was always helpful, but the personal trainers Mario and Keila are the most unprofessional, greedy, and unhelpful people I’ve dealt with. Before I begin the story, corporate and regional managers continue to be involved.

Mario, the training manager, was aware for more than two months that I was trying to cancel. (Throughout the 3 months I was actually there I not only gained weight and inches, but also body fat. I was going once a week, which I realize won’t produce the best or fastest results, but Keila told me I needed to come more often, because “once a week doesn’t work. ” If it doesn’t work, don’t offer it.)

I first tried to cancel over the phone, not once but twice. The staff left a note for Mario to call, but he never did. I texted my trainer to please help me cancel or reach Mario, I discussed my problems with the sessions (no outside support or accountability check-ins, or literally anything outside of your session), and she asked me to please wait until she can speak with Mario. I never heard back from either of them.

When I resolved to come in and confront him during what was my final session, he said that I had to physically sign a paper to cancel the contract. That isn’t that unusual, but he told me I couldn’t sign that day because it wasn’t 10 full days prior to the day the auto payment comes out. So I’d have to come back after they billed…even though I was there, in person, able to sign and cancel, prior to the payment coming out. I don’t know what payor system disallows you from removing someone from being charged, can’t imagine that’s true.

After being prevented from canceling that day, my boyfriend and Mountainside account holder confronted Mario the next time he came in. Mario always makes you say “hello, how are you sir” to him before you speak by the way, and if you don’t, which my boyfriend didn’t this time, Mario interrupts you and says “Excuse me, that isn’t how we begin conversations. How about you start with hello, how are you, sir”. Incredibly condescending- As they continue to discuss what should be a VERY simple issue at hand of canceling my future training sessions, Mario tells him that if he continues to attempt to discuss this further, he will walk away and not cancel us! The members around the desk heard this, and turned their heads and looked as shocked as I was when I heard what happened.

I texted Keila about this, expressed my frustration and disgust with this whole process and their utter lack of professionalism, to which she defensively replied in all caps, and proceeded to block me.

Apparently this isn’t the first time people have been blocked entirely from canceling, or treated poorly by Mario and his staff there. If you want to lose weight, be treated with respect or human kindness, steer clear 100% from these two.

From reading the other poor or 1* reviews by others, it looks like someone will reply to this with “thank you, if you want to discuss this further you can call…” to which I’d recommend you save it- just FIX (or fire) the problems you’re having, Mountainside.

Tried to use a 5 day pass since I was in town and was interested in extending for my entire time in Phoenix. Was informed I couldn't workout here since I wasn't fully interested in a membership. They did not honor the 5 day pass that was offered on their website. Terrible customer service.

Very impressed with the customer service I received. Kyle was behind the counter and was happy and all smiles and helped us out. We’re visiting from out of town and just wanted to get a work out in. We cannot commit to a membership just because there is no clubs around our primary residence. They were very understanding and did not try to push any sales on us or make us feel uncomfortable. Brendon one of the managers gave us our passes also with a smile and we had a great conversation. Nothing but positive and good vibes from this place. Also very clean and sanitized. Makes me disgruntled seeing negative reviews about this place. If you’re scared of COVID stay home. The gym is not the place for you. I do not welcome a response from the management because they are so awesome! Also very good variety on apparel and beverages. Pre work out/ shakes etc.we will be back when we’re in the area for sure. Keep up the great work!

Great gym, clean gym! They have a lot of what the larger gym chains have just more compact. With that being said I just wish there was a little more space to add more machines and not feel so packed during the daytime hours. If you have flexibility with your schedule, go during the quiet hours open to 10AM, or 8PM to close you will have most of the place to yourself. Still worth 5 stars.

I have been going to mountainside for over a decade! Staff is always friendly and gym is super clean! Brendan, the assistant manager, helped me sign my boyfriend up quick and easy! Highly recommend coming here!

Representative was knowledgeable and presented his experience with the company. He answered all my questions and was able to make the process seamless. The center was clean and had a very open feeling. Rep lead a comprehensive view of the facility.

First visit the kid at counter was such a quiet talker that I could barely hear anything I said. He was not sure what I should do to get my 5 day pass. Told me to go talk to other young gentleman at desk.
5 days later, I joined online. Walked in, showed my confirmation email of my membership, girl at desk had no clue how I should get a a barcode tag for entrance. Does anyone train these young kids at this job? Their confidence is terrible and clearly not the best first impression for your business.

I loved the place until I saw an unauthorized charge on my CC. When I inquired about it, they explained the deal they offered wasn't possible or invalid or whatever. The salesperson gave me the balance of May plus all of June free, I was already paying a month to month premium, I just had to pay the exit month in advance. They pretty much called me a liar and said in May they were only giving 30 days. The salesperson name was Garret and he was conveniently never available for confirmation. Bottom line, get a printed copy of the contract to read before you sign and always use a prepaid card. And don't even get me started on the Marina location and the number of members using their cell phones in the locker room! Text messaging and taking selfies in the mirror by the showers! Creeped me out so bad I quit going before my membership terminated. EVERY DAY, people using phones in the locker room, it was bad enough in the gym where people use the equipment to sit on while they text! They invite me to contact them to resolve the issue and I DID contact them and they called me a liar! The employees behind the counter were terrific, zero complaints and many accolades to them, this is all on management at some level.
