I have a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. I have been paying on it for almost four years. I had a serious but chronic illness but still managed to work part time, therefore I was managing my bankruptcy payments fine.

Approximately a year ago, I found out I had a serious illness and needed to apply for a medical retirement and SSDI. I had used up all my sick time at work from all the years of being sick. I was in a real predicament with no income coming in. My sister was able to help pay to keep a roof over my head, but certainly couldn’t afford to pay my Chapter 13 payment.

I fell behind on my Chapter 13 payments. The trustee sent me a letter stating my bankruptcy would be dismissed. I had spoken to my attorney Ryan Dorn previously and explained some of my situation. Once I found out about my serious illness, I called and explained everything to him. He informed me to send a letter outlining my illness, the fact that I had not been able to work in one year and that I had used my savings over the last several years due to the chronic illness.

Within two days time (before the Care Act deadline) Ryan was able to modify my old plan and send it to the trustee. Ryan is attempting to get my payments temporarily suspended until my SSDI and medical retirement checks are approved and start coming to me. With all his other workload he was able to prioritize my case and get it done quickly!

I feel like Ryan went above and beyond what he had to do. He handled this entire issue expeditiously. He relieved a lot of the anguish I felt over this financial issue looming, while I am also facing major surgery. He was always polite to me, and responded to my calls or emails in a prompt manner.

I had been a RN for 30 years. We had to go to customer training seminars for the last 10 years. I believe I am definitely an excellent judge of superior customer service! I definitely believe Ryan exhibits excellent customer service and is also very competent in his profession.

I don’t recommend this law firm. My lawyer was pj for my custody case. He didn’t seem to care what was in the best interest for me or my son. He was a sexist and cared more about what the other party wanted but he was suppose to be representing me. I settled for things I didn’t want because he simply wouldn’t fight for me. He just wanted his money and the case to be over with. If I ever have to go back to court I won’t be coming back to this law firm.

A honest lawyer is always what you want to hear, not one to give you rates. Here at AZ Lawyers, I was able to talk to Rachel or Ashely, lol, I'm not good with names. Unfortunately I received a speeding ticket here in Arizona she told me honest advice on how to deal with the ticket myself since her advice was that it would be no different, well see how my case goes, but I appreciate her honesty and directness which is why I decided to rate them. I hired Ms. Katherine Stapleton to represent me with a very contentious child custody case, This woman is my hero! As a father I was very worried about family court and my ex was making very serious allegations I simply could not defend against myself.
Admittedly I waited too long before hiring her and she still was able to make a strong case that not only got me temporary orders just so I could see my son again, but she got us final orders that were equitable and exactly what I asked for!
