I would rate it a 5, but I couldnt get the car I reserved and had to pay for something bigger

I appreciate National’s process of being able to choose a car and get going. I still interacted with a couple of friendly associates while choosing my car to make sure I was in the right aisle & they made dropping the car off at the end a breeze.
National was extremely helpful when an item was left in the car. The Tucson Airport office went above and beyond to get our item back.

Always the best. Phoenix Airport National car is really first rate. No counter lines to stand in and a couple of lines of vehicles to choice from stopping only at the exit stand to provide documents for rental along with driver’s license and credit card. Smooth operation! Miami1
I rent from here at least once per month. The vehicle selection for Executive Elite is getting worse all the time, and the vehicles usually indicate that they require some form of maintenance upon collection. On my last visit the vehicle options were very poor, basically a bunch of Chevys, Nissan or a Jeep. No BMW, Audi, or Mercedes.
Unreal customer service. Jodie was unbelievable, offering his assistance. Can’t recommend this place enough!
First car I selected was defective (failed forward collision sensor going off constantly). It took about 45 minutes to trade it out. Was offered a free day credit. This was never applied and I was charged $51 for fuel when I returned the car topped off.
Most national rental cars are good but this is the third time getting screwed in phoenix. Clearly I’m a slow learner.

National never got back to my email. Not surprised.
Staff was very helpful and polite. Car rental process was quick without any issues. Choosing any car in the aisle as an Emerald Club member is a worthwhile upgrade.

National has always treated me great. On a recent trip to Phoenix, AZ, they went above and beyond. I initially reserved the emerald aisle. There were so many cars to choose from, which was so awesome but realized I was going to need a slightly larger SUV. It had been a long travel day and the manager approached me to see if everything was okay. I told him my dilemma and he didn’t hesitate to find another vehicle that better fit my needs. We agreed on it and then he said thank you for your business and enjoy this free upgrade. I couldn’t have been more thankful for his kindness and how quickly he recognized my needs.
The pickup process was very quick and efficient. The vehicle was great and the return process was so easy. I will definitely rent with National going forward.
Do yourself a favor: come here every time. Forget the other vendors and companies in PHX. Seriously. The service is perfect every single time. I travel almost weekly, so this is very important to me. Hina is an absolute joy to work with at the front desk. They have THE BEST lineup of cars. They always smell great and are very clean. I usually get an Audi or something similar. Checkout is wonderful too. They will help you find things incase you forgot an item in the car. Like, literally will RUN to you before you go. They have nice misters while you wait as well outside. I wish every place was like this.

I'm a big fan of National Emerald Isle! I've never had anything other than a quick and seamless experience. My recent pickup in Pheonix was no exception. Although there is no need to talk to an agent on the aisle, there is always one around to answer any questions. The car was freshly cleaned and I had no problems at all with pickup or return. I've never had any issues with the car itself in all the years I've been renting through National. My only ask would be more cars that are brightly colored - helps me find them in a parking lot.
Car had low milage, clean, and in greating working order. No issues and easy to rent and return.
