I called the office to ask for a order for a covit antibody testing for my children and they said they do not do it
Why? No explanation
My doctor does the orders for all his patients so test is free and the pediatrician should do the orders for their children patients.

I guess it is time to change pediatrician

This office is very judgmental if you have AZ Kids Care or AHCCCS insurance. They require you to complete lengthy offensive questionnaires at every single appointment asking if you have enough food, get slapped in the face, or have a place to live. This is intrusive and offense and most of all, none of their business. When I questioned why this was necessary, the receptionist announced to the entire waiting room that it was because I have "Medicaid/AHCCCS. " I actually have my children on KidsCare and a family with many children can earn more than $70,000 annually and still get KidsCare benefits if there is no other insurance. We should not be profiled and judged. During the appointment, the Doctor also condescendingly asked me if we got food stamps "also. " No and again, none of your business. Also, I checked with AHCCCS and my insurance provider, both say that they do not at all require any such questionnaires and encouraged me to submit a complaint. I am going to do so. This office should be less judgmental and more honest.

My honest opinion of NSPeds is the original Dr’s are wonderful. Some of the new ones not so much. Both my children (born 1999 and 2003) have had great experiences with Dr Fishler, Dr Ziltzer, Dr Siegel & Dr Pottgen. Recently my younger was sick and we made an emergency sick appt. First of all the online scheduling does not allow for sick appts. So I called into the office, I was 3rd in line, then after 10 mins right before I was next in line they hung up. So I called back. I became 9th in line, 24 mins later I was finally second in line again and again they hung up. Third Call I was 11th in line, almost 30 minutes later I finally got a scheduler. I was told I could get an appt with Dr Cropp for a sick appt. I took it as my child has been sick since 12/26. It’s now 1/2 and for the last few days my child has been coughing so badly that it’s complete sleepless nights with 4am finally falling asleep in between heaving coughing. My child told Dr Cropp her chest area was on fire and hurt so much from coughing. I asked if it might be bronchitis? Dr Cropp said no it’s a “virus” and there’s nothing that can be done. I reiterated that we have tried so many OTC cough suppressants and none work. And is it safe to take DayQuil and NyQuil non stop for almost 10 days now. She said if it’s an isolated incident taking those meds for 3 wks straight is fine. Also Dr Cropp said that she herself had 6 sleepless nights from her virus and that we just needed to power through it. I couldn’t believe I had to have my child who could not sit or sleep without coughing “power through” when no OTC meds worked. Dr Cropp’s lousy suggestion was to take warm showers and just let it play out unless she’s not better in another week or if she spikes a fever. We went home, again I sat up with my child until 4am, literally on the verge of driving her to the ER. She could barely sit she was so tired. We waited until the morning to go to Urgent Care. The Dr there checked everything and said indeed my child has Bronchitis. She was immediately put on Azithromycin, Methylprednisolone, promethazine. I am shocked I was asked to just “watch” my daughter suffer needlessly because Dr Cropp did NOT want to hear what we had to say. She kept refuting everything my child was feeling and re-directing it to her diagnosis of a “virus”. I have never had this experience with our usual 4 doctors. I am highly disappointed. If I had listened to Dr Cropp, my daughter would still be suffering today due to her very poor medical judgment and poor ability to listen to a patient. I have never written a poor review, and always give people the benefit of the doubt. However in this case I needed to let other parents know, if it feels wrong, get another assessment or insist on seeing your usual pediatrician. This could have totally been avoided had Dr Cropp just done her job as a dr and not imposed her own past viral situation onto us. Clearly with 4 meds needed by an urgent care dr it wasn’t a “virus” as she kept saying. Beware and don’t walk, RUN if you get Dr Cropp.

We love North Scottsdale Pedatrics. Dr. Siegel is hands down the best! Patient and very caring. The office staff is super friendly. We can always get appointments when my son is sick or last minute. Glad we found this office.

We have seen Dr. Pottgen, Dr. Bjornsen, and Dr. Smith. They've all been lovely and attentive. They answer all of your questions patiently. I love the separate entrances for this office (well&sick) and they've been really accommodating when we have needed a "sick" visit. Dr. Smith also made me aware they have a social worker/therapist in office which I may look into as well with my EAP.

Dr Boucek is an outstanding physician and a great human being. She is very knowledgeable and caring. Unfortunately, the front desk staff at this office is terrible. They are very rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. They really ruin every experience a patient has with the office.

We have been going to North Scottsdale Pediatrics for 9+ years for both of our kids and seeing Dr. Pottgen during this time. She is the best doctor and always has the best advice, plan of action, and knows how to help our kids. Trust everything she says 100% and would recommend her and this pediatric office to anyone need help for their kids. We have seen other doctors there when Dr. Pottgen wasn't available and still received the best care.

We recently took our son into North Scottsdale Pediatrics because he broke his foot. We were given a walking boot for his foot. When we received the bill for the walking boot they charged $360 for this. I went online and I found the same walking boot for $45. This was more than a 800% mark up. Doctors needs to be concerned about medical expenses for their patients.

Dr. Kurland is the absolute BEST! We have been going to her since our baby was born, and couldn’t trust anyone more! The office is amazing and will always squeeze you in on the same day (sick visit) if needed. Today we saw Dr. Siegel, and he was fantastic as well! You cannot go wrong with anyone here. All of the physicians in this office are knowledgeable and genuinely care about their patients. Thanks for always taking care of our little one!

We LOVE the doctors here. Our main dr.is Pottgen (amazing!), but we've seen a handful of others for urgent care visits and they've all been so attentive and caring. Both offices are so clean and so nice. We have two children who go here- HIGHLY recommend them!

Dr Lisa Engle has been our pedo for almost 10 yrs now, best bedside manner EVER. Even better news is that she's young enough so there is no chance of her retirement while my kids still need a pediatrician

Dr. Kurland is amazing and the only reason we continue to deal with the subpar office staff. Every time we go they tell me one of my twins isn't covered on insurance and we can't be seen. It's a huge hassle every time until they figure out how to submit out of state insurance. We just received a bill for child that isn't mine yesterday and nobody can tell me how to get in contact with billing. But.we will deal with this because Dr. Kurland is THAT good. Thanks Dr. K!

I took my son in for an itchy rash and while I was there asked for a refill on his ADHD medication. They gave me the script but said that they wouldn't refill another script for this med until he came in for another 'med check' appointment again within 30 days. When I asked if we could do the med check appointment today while I'm already here in the office the doctor responded with: 1) their office policy is that he's checked every 4 months WHILE ON THE MEDICATION and 2) that med check appointment needs a vitals and weight screening which takes more time then allotted for during today's visit ("other patients are waiting" were the doctor's exact words) WELL, here's the kicker that makes this situation VERY annoying, frustrating and uncalled for:
1. My son hasn't been taking the ADHD meds for the last three months since he only takes them during the school year, while actually in a classroom. The last time he had a 'med check' was in April of 2015. That means that he's technically not due for another med check for another two months since he was only on the meds for a total of two months back in April and May.
2. He DID have his vitals and weight measurements done today while being seen for a rash. So that begs the question, how much longer could a 'med check' visit actually add on to today's visit time since the necessary info has already been captured?
3. I asked the doctor how can we perform a 'med check' assessment when he actually hasn't been taking the medication over the summer and just started taking it again? How is that logically possible? Shouldn't we assess again after he's started back on the medication for a period of time? (By the way, this medication is not new and he's been on it, sans summer months, for over a year).

Doctor’s response? Office policy.
I explained that taking time from work was difficult but this doctor/office appears to be more concerned about their revenue stream rather than practical, necessary patient care. Don't worry, readers, I'll be asking for my son's chart and my business elsewhere.

Dr. Kurland is the most down to earth doctor I've ever met. She is absolutely WONDERFUL with my children! And the staff here is equally amazing. All around, just a great place!

We love this practice and I think over the past three years at one time or another we have probably worked with all of the providers there at least once. They go out of their way to get you in quickly if you need to be seen ASAP and the staff are all very friendly. I would highly recommend them.

I've had 3 babies in 4 years and this office has been great caring for my little ones. Dr Kurland our Doctor is great, and all of the other doctors I've seen have also been great. The deer valley office was recently remodeled and looks Fantastic. Love that they offer Saturday hours at the Shea location.

My three children have been going to North Scottsdale Pediatrics for 8 years. We see Dr. Siegel. At each appointment, he give us his full attention and I feel like he is a wonderful doctor. My children have complex illnesses and I feel that Dr. Siegel gives us the time and attention we need.

My son has been with these doctors since he was born 10 years ago (he was a preemie). I have never had to question their standard of care and my son loves his doctors. I would highly recommend them.

We switched pediatricians after multiple encounters with several extremely rude staff members at this location. One situation in particular really peeved us-
The on-call nurse had the audacity to patronize my husband and I for calling after business hours about a red hue to our daughters skin. Why bother having an "on-call" nurse if they are reluctant to take calls from patients?
Rather than stick around to see if the level of care & concern will rise, we switched to a better pediatric office.
