Orange Sky, Scottsdale AZ

Took my husband for his birthday and was not happy with the dinner. The environment and atmosphere is nice inside with beautiful scenery outside. The tenderloin was dry and flavorless. The steak was better. I would hope so given the soft up-selling by the waitress. We both thought the asparagus was hard and thin, and parts of it dry or charred. I did not care for the Caesar salad either. Even the butter that came with the bread was disgusting, and for an assortment of bread it was still difficult to find anything good. Seriously the only thing I liked about my entire dinner was the iced tea. I considered having a glass of wine with dinner, but the waitress kept asking to take the wine glass away because I didn’t order wine right off the bat. I even told her I wanted to think about it and perhaps order later. It was such a turn off to order any wine after that. The waitress was annoying. I think she was trying to be helpful but she really was a little tone deaf. It was pretty obvious I wasn’t happy starting with her soft upselling, pushy suggestions, and being overly chatty. Probably the worst upscale dinner I’ve ever had. This was very disappointing, because we went in February last year and it was quite good from what I recall. Overpriced for a subpar dinner.

Seems every place you go anymore we are expected to accept lowered standards and high prices.
Tony our waiter dumped not one but two cocktails on us, ruined clothes and shoes. You expect clumsy staff at your local bar.very dissapointed to see it here. We would have left but we were entertaining out of towners.
I agree with the review consensus. Overhyped, Overpriced, Sub-par staff.
We'll give you another try, hope you improve enough to change my review.

This was a great experience for my 11th year Anniversary. Service was phenomenal and scenery was fantastic. The food portion was smaller than I expected and everything is Al La Carte. But overall wonderful.

So incredible, from the food to the views, from staff to the atmosphere. We enjoyed the oysters, crab stack, game assortment, lobsters, and several desserts. Absolutely exquisite! We had a booth at sundown which just added to the experience.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. We were lucky to have Mars as our server. He was SO amazing! He gave lots of great food advice, took photos for us, notified us on the balcony when our food was coming out, and had such a warm smile. The food was phenomenal. My husband said his steak was cooked the best he's ever had. I had spaghetti squash that was crazy delicious. The atmosphere was so beautiful. We were blown away by our experience here and can't wait to visit again.

Can't beat Orange Sky for a fine dine. Tables are spread out, private rooms and intimate dinner areas. Food is excellent and fairly priced. And fantastic views.

The height of luxury! There's a performance kitchen and a spectacular patio that overlooks the McDowell mountains. Very pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Definitely overrated.we had a Christmas meal there and the waiter brought the main course two hours after my appetizer. Not well coordinated at all. DO NOT EAT HERE. NOT WORTH THE OUTAGEOUS PRICE. THE SERVICE COMPLETELY SUCKS. I AM NEVER GOING BACK!

Absolutely impeccable service, ambiance and the food was scrumptious! It was our first time here and far exceeded any expectations I may have had. Highly recommended for a remarkable experience!

Great place to dine with any company. The staff is woderful. Lyndsay was our server. She was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Always there to answer any questions regarding the menu or just have a friendly short conversation. Jon-the General Manager, was also great and eager to provide the best possible service. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. Will recomend this place for any occasion. Will defintely go back.

The restaurant and the views are amazing. We went at the perfect time to catch the sunset. The service was absolutely great. I hate to say it but compared to other high end restaurants the food was just OK.

This place is amazing. The service is exceptional. Perfectly paced and not rushed. The Orange Sky Coastal Market for four made you forget you were in the desert and the steaks were pure perfection. We loved absolutely everything about this place and although pricey, it was worth every penny. We will be back!

We celebrated my parents 50th anniversary here! The General Manager John gave us a deal on a private room that faced West and had a magnificent view of the sunset. Food was great, and seafood was fresh. Thanks again guys for a great evening.

This was my first time eating here and I will definitely return. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Our server Tony was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with explaining how the meats were sourced and aged for flavor.

Amazing view at sunset that made for a great and unique dinner. The menu was good but expected a bit more from a higher end restaurant. Thank you to waiter Mars for the high class service.

We stayed at this resort for the 4th of July week 3rd thru the 5th. On the 4th, we made reservations at this restaurant since we heard that the views for the fireworks would be amazing. We made reservations for 5: 45pm. We knew we would probably not see the fireworks but still hoped to enjoy a delicious dinner with our girls. We arrived about 15 minutes early, and we were told that we would have to wait at the lobby until it was our time (the restaurant was not busy), so the younger girls sat at the lobby, and we went to the bar. Mind you, there was a staff of 3 at the front who let us in. We sat down at the bar and looked at the wine menu immediately to order some drinks. The bartender (young man with a beard) was working. As we were ordering, one of the receptionists came up to us, asking for ID. We showed our ID, and our daughter showed her digital id, but they told us that they do not accept that as a form of ID (In Arizona,  the smartphone-based ID can be legally used in any situation in which a physical ID card can be used, including presenting an ID during a traffic stop by a law enforcement officer, or while buying cigarettes or liquor. Mar 26,2021), and she was forced to go back up to the room and get her physical ID. Upon return and showing id, we were then approached by a manager at the bar, in front of other patrons, and told that we could not bring drinks from outside the restaurant into their restaurant. We obliged, and I told the bartender that he could have told us, and we would have been good with throwing it away. He replied very rudely and with a very crappy look, "That's not my job, " and just stared back at me. That was totally uncalled for. First, we are given a hard time about being there 15 min early, then about id, and then about bringing a drink in, and then an attitude. So I approached the manager and asked that I wanted a better understanding as to shy we were let in without being told anything about outside drinks, and not told anything until we were already sitting and ha ing had bought a bottle of wine. Also, we would have had no problem with it, had the bartender told us, but instead he gave me a bad attitude and thst it was not his job. None of that made sense, I can understand not saying something if their was a bad situation or a problem, but to not say anything and have a manager come up to us in front of everyone was a bit over the top. My wife was talking to some friends at the lobby, and the front desk lady walked up to her and told her the table was ready and she needed to go now. We were already disappointed but went to the table and tried to make the most out of our dinner. The food was brought out, warm and not hot, and aside from the bottle we bought, we paid 230.00 for dinner to be treated the way we were. I would definitely not refer anyone to est at a place that would treat good paying customers with their family the way we were treated. We eat everywhere and are always referring people where to go and not to go. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, but would unfortunately not go back to the restaurant Orange Sky.
