Rude doctor. Very dismissive. Staff is totally incompetent. Just trying to get my medical records from this office was impossible. Even after filling the forms. They referred me to a third party. Gave up on that, now redoing my tests with new doctor.

Definitely recommend dr Martin. He repaired my very badly torn meniscus and I’m 6months post op and I can sprint and run like nothing happened. Highly recommend him

Had total knee replacement one year ago. I did the exercise and Dr. Martin did the rest. I can play golf now with no pain after having knee pain for over 40 years. Outstanding surgeon!

I had partial knee replacement surgery a yr ago and the my results are fantastic. I will say it was a rough 2 to 3 months but within 6 months I was back to running 3-5 miles twice a week and biking/ swimming anything I was able to train for. My knee has no limitation and no discomfort. Dr. Martin did an amazing job and I can honestly say the results are better than I was expecting. One thing I highly recommend is that after the 6-8 weeks of insurance provided therapy a person needs to join a gym and continue with physical therapy/exercising. Biking/ellipticals/swimming/Horizontal single leg presses and stretching are all key for continued success. Start easy.set goals and track your workouts and stay on course 3-4 times a week most weeks and your results will amaze you. My plan is do a sprint triathlon in 2021 and I see no reason why it can't happen. As far as gyms, you'll find most gym memberships are only $12-20 a month. If I had to rate Dr. Martin on his skills as a surgeon, based on my results I would give him a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. His support staff would also get a 10. I'm extremely happy to be in the place I am now considering the awful pain and lack of mobility I had prior to surgery. Many thanks to Dr. Martin! Ortho AZ in Chandler deserves high praise!

Dr. Shelden Martin was the worst doctor I've ever been to. He didn't listen to my needs or concerns, I went in with an old knee injury. I had a previous MRI that I showed him and he said there was nothing wrong (spoiler: I had a meniscus tear and a pericruciate cyst, both of which had caused me pain for years and kept me from doing daily living activities). He told me that surgery would only make the problem worse and I'd be in more pain. For reference I'm in my 20s so this wasn't a high risk in any way. He did however tell me that I could do 12 weeks physical therapy at their establishment and WHEN that failed (not if but when) they could do the surgery and then I'd do more physical therapy. So if you're following, he was trying to bleed my insurance.

Now when I first called I asked for an appointment with Dr. Martin, the person making the appointments failed to ask WHICH Dr Martin so I went to Shelden not Dr. Richard Martin like I had wanted.

I left the office furious that I wasn't listened to and that I was told nothing was wrong with me and my pain wasn't real. I called to make an appointment with the right Dr Martin, Dr. Richard Martin, fast forward and he's amazing. He listened to me and factored in my age and the fact that me being unable to do things, as an extremely active 25 year old with fairly severe knee pain, wasn't going to be fixed from PT.

Fast forward again post surgery, I have NO knee pain, my knee no longer sounds like a bone breaking when I bend it, I can do a deep squat, and I can run for the first time in 5 years! He was amazing, he listened to my questions and my worries, and ultimately he fixed my bum knee.

TAKEAWAY: if you want to feel like a human being, be listened to, not bled for insurance, and ultimately walk away healed DO NOT GO TO SHELDON MARTIN. I however highly recommend Dr. Richard Martin in Phoenix.

I had a siezure of some sort while in the xamination room. I couldn’t focus my eyes on anyone. It wasn’t like vertigo, nothing was spinning but I could not focus nor see clearly anyone’s face. It happened when I turned around to face doc. I kept trying to see docs face, but could not bring it even close to being in focus. During the injection my head seemed cloudy. When I left I sat in my car for 15 - 20 minutes. I did not want to get on the road til I felt this episode had passed. I called my doctor as soon as I could. A follow up is pending. I felt that doctor Martin must have thought I was on something. To clarify: I don’t smoke pot or anything like it. Don’t take pain pills. Don’t use alcohol. I do not put any substance in my body at all. I could tell by his talking he appeared to be upset with me.

I'm a baseball player and Dr. Martin identified my shoulder and elbow pain immediately as a problem with my flexibility. I was prepared for the worst with either rotator cuff or a UCL tear. He recommended physical therapy and I haven't had pain or problems throwing since.

Dr. Martin performed a Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty revision on my right shoulder. The difference between the original rTSA (performed by a different surgeon less than a year earlier) and the revision is remarkable. I highly recommend Dr. Martin and his team.

Bit of a wait but doctor and staff were thorough and took the time to explain the issue in detail and answered my questions.

Grateful for Dr. Martin's thoughtful demeanor, candid direction and professional expertise. The entire support staff is amazing at Ortho AZ. I actually look forward to visiting the office!

Dr. Martin is a superb orthopedic surgeon. He has performed multiple surgeries on me plus 3 total replacements. I have total trust in Dr. Martin and I will continue to have him treat me for all my orthopedic needs.
Dr. Martin has established himself as one of the top orthopedic surgeons in the valley. His staff is very organized and professional especially his assistant Robin. She is definitely on top of things all the time which is so refreshing and makes dealing with pre-op and post-op less stressful.

From our very first meeting Dr. Shelden Martin was cordial, polite, personable and thoroughly PROFESSIONAL. His diagnosis was given quickly with positive confidence. His explanation of the treatment steps was clearly described with X-ray visuals and specific directions. My appointment with Chandler Ortho Arizona office was timely, and seemed to run like a well oiled machine ie; everyone was highly professional and efficient. Dr. Martin deftly administered one cortisone injection into each knee with extraordinary preciseness and no pain. Even though I learned that one of my knees was "bone on bone"... As I walked out towards the Physical Therapy office I was already feeling better! Happily looking forward to my treatment plan with Dr. Martin.

Everyone was sincere and efficient. Got me in and out with a diagnosis and plan for healing. Facilities were clean/comfortable/ modern. Can’t asked for much more.

I have been seeing Dr Martin for four years. I went to him after the VA in Tucson screwed up my shoulder replacement. He did a revision and because of the VA cutting my nerves the rotator cuff died so he did a reverse shoulder a year ago. My pain is substantial less and my range of motion is much better. May not seem like a big deal to some people, but I can now wash my hair with both hands. Something I haven't been able to do in ten years. He's a very good doctor and truly cares for his patients. He takes the time to listen to you. I highly recommend him.
