Pat's K9 Training, LLC, Goodyear AZ

Sent 2 of our dogs to board and train here specifically to work on problem behaviors. We were never advised that the expectation of this “training” is that our dogs will be in e-collars during all waking hours so we can “correct” them. They taught the dogs to walk at a heel and to sit. Our dogs already knew how to sit and walking at a heel was not a priority for us. They did not address any of the problem behaviors, despite being advised that those would be addressed. On pickup when we asked about them, they just told us “oh just use the collars to buzz them for a correction. ” We definitely could have ordered ecollars ourselves for less than $3000, that’s for sure.
We don’t want our dogs living in ecollars and it is impractical to have 2 remotes in hand at all times for quick behavior corrections, which is why we looked for a board and train for help with things we were not equipped to deal with on our own. Also, one of our dogs that was dog door trained for months prior to training is now peeing all over the house. Very disappointed and feel like we wasted a ton of money that we now no longer have to invest in training that will actually work.

But hey, our dogs can heel now. As long as they have on their ecollars and aren’t in a distracting space, that is.

Sent both of my dogs, Wiggles and Cuddles, for training. They are rescues and are smart but very stubborn dogs. Pat did an amazing job with them. They no longer drag me down the street on walks. They don't jump on people anymore and almost never bark. It feels like I have new dogs. Thank you Pat for the amazing job!

It has been a few months since I last worked with Pat, but when his business popped up in my newsfeed - it had me wanting to leave a review on his professional services.

Patrick O'Hearn of Pat's K9 Training, LLC is one of the most expert and professional trainers I have ever worked with. I met Pat back in 2021 through a military friend, who knew that I, as a former k9 handler in the US Army, was looking for a k9 of my own on the civilian side. From Day One, Patrick was very honest, professional, driven and dedicated to help me find the perfect Belgian Malinois. After a Malinois was turned in to him for a rehome, Patrick worked with her faults and trained her up to be the perfect, off leash, driven K9. I was so impressed with the work Patrick did with her, that I wound up rescuing 3 more Working Dogs (2 Malinois' and a GSD/Malinois Mix) for myself personally. Patrick loves dogs so much, that be dedicates extensive hours to perfecting their obedience and trust. At least one of my dogs (a male Malinois) was said to be 'aggressive' so he was turned into Pat as a surrender. After working with Pat, Pat turned my male Malinois life around and he now has an amazing home.

Patrick has never not been there for me if I ever had a question, especially since I had always owned Shepherds. I had worked with Malinois via a PD and the Military, but never did I have one. I was so impressed with how Pat works with these working dogs and other breeds, Pat and I worked together to help rehome 4 other K9s in addition to my 4.

And I can tell you this - they are all extremely happy in their new lives. One is now a working k9 with a PD in Northern PA, the other with the DEA and the third is getting ready to compete for his first official Obedience Title with the AKC.

I wish I lived in Arizona, because if I did - I would board my dogs there without hesitation. I trust Patrick more than anyone else with my dogs. My female Mal is getting ready to get her civilian Explosives Detection Certification, my male Malinois is now into Dock Diving (and is amazing with people, btw) and my female Shepherd/Malinois mix is ready to compete in her first official Schutzhund (IPO) trial. My newest addition, a former DOC Narcotics K9 from Arizona, who I rescued via Pat - came to me this past spring. We just certified as a Narcotics Team on the Nationwide scale.

I can't thank Patrick enough for all that he has done. I will continue to recommend Pat as often as I can. He is one of the most dedicated, educated, and inspirational trainers I have ever met.

Not only is he amazing with your pets, he's incredible with both police and military k9s also. Patrick knows - that no matter how many months or years pass between our conversations or visits or K9 Check-ins, he has made a forever battle buddy with this MP.

Pat trained Franklin almost a year ago. At first, he was a HANDFUL! After completing Pat's two weeks training, Franklin's behavior has been AMAZING! Franklin still hold his values until this day!

The people in the neighborhood loves to see Franklin because he thinks he is running the place. Lol!
I enjoy taking him for walks and riding him to different places.

When we go out of town, we board him with Pat. Franklin thinks it is his second home. He LOVES Conner!

I took all 3 of my German Shepherds to Pat. I highly recommend his services. My dogs came home happy, and well behaved, they are a pleasure to live with now. All those annoying little habits, like jumping, barking, bum rushing the door, Gone! They all, sit, stay, come when called, and walk along side me, even with distractions. They have a great foundation, thanks to Pat, and if I ever have an issue that I can't figure out, I can call Pat. It's like having a lifetime warranty. I cannot say enough about Pat and his training. Harley's training far surpassed my expectations! He truly cares about each and every dog that joins his program, as if they were his own. Also, because first and foremost it's his belief that each dog succeed. Our wild child Harley minds and follows commands now. Can't thank you enough.

Never will I ever get another dog without bringing it to Pat. He has done wonders for our Malinois. To have complete control over your animal is something you can't put a price on. He turned our shy, nervous wreck of a dog into a loving family member and she just excells in everything, she's so confident in everything she does.

Our 6 month old pup, Tillman, came home after attending Pat's two week board & train program with huge improvements in behavior and no change to his funny personality. This program was everything we could ever ask for, a well behaved but still joyful member of the family. Pat's K9 does amazing work with dogs and truly treats them like family.

Tillman travels with us often and is no stranger to compliments from anyone that meets him. When he is not traveling with us, he attends Pat's boarding program. There is no one else we trust with our pups.

Pat and his training team are simply the best. Pat went over and beyond my expectations during training my hard headed lab. When we got another pup, same great experience. If I have questions or concerns after training is complete, he makes himself available. We recommend Pat’s K-9 to everyone!

Our dogs have been trained by Pats K9, and we recommended to anyone who ask. We also board our dogs when going on vacation, and they all love their vacation to Pats house.

I found Pat’s K9 Training when we needed help with the pit we took in from my daughter’s friend. We decided on the two week program and am glad we did. We were quite pleased with his services. He took the time to answer all our questions. We were so impressed that when we took in a husky/shepherd mix from my nephew we immediately contacted Pat for his two week program.
