Payne Roofing, Chandler AZ

One of their employees came to my car wash yesterday morning and blew nails out of the back of their work truck! Roofing nails all over the self serve wash bay 2! Fortunately only 2 other people pulled into the bay before I arrived to notice the nails. I tried calling the company multiple times with no answer! Now it's the weekend and ofcourse they are closed! If this is how their employees treat people when they think nobody is watching what are they doing at job sites?

Initially they were very professional and responsive. That is why we ultimately selected Payne Roofing to repair a leak in our roof. After the initial visit the roof was still leaking. They came back out to fix it. The roof then leaked again on Christmas Eve. They sent someone out to take a look after many calls, texts and emails. The person was very rude to my husband and told him to contact an HVAC company. We did, even though the contract CLEARLY stated that they were to seal the vents at the roof as part of the scope of work. The HVAC company came and inspected the area, which we had to pay for, and told us a roofing company needed to fix it. Since then, Payne Roofing has failed to respond to our calls, emails and texts requesting the work to be completed.
Very frustrating and extremely unprofessional.

I highly recommend Payne Roofing if you are looking for an honest, professional, and quality roof repair. While searching for estimates for repairs, I spotted a Payne Roofing company vehicle. Just the quality of advertising on their truck was enough to grab my attention. I called and was given an appointment date. Ryan, the estimator, arrived on time and did an exceptionally thorough evaluation, much better than others we had. He provided pictures, a detailed materials list and an estimate on the spot with options regarding scope, and clear information of what was our responsibility (removing the gutters and providing the paint for touchups). Another company did a cursory inspection (didn't even go up on the roof) and quoted an only slightly lower price but planned a vastly smaller repair. What we chose will serve for years even if other parts of the roof eventually need attention.
Our repairs took two days - the crew arrived early and worked hard. They did a wonderful job and cleaned up the debris when done. Nelson, the lead on the crew was so kind and friendly and informative. Even after doing this type of work for twenty years, he still shows enthusiasm and patience in answering my questions. He took extra time to fortify the flashing at the edge of the roof to address some drainage issues which caused the roof damage in the first place.
The office is very efficient - there was a small issue with booking the dates for repairs due to staff illness but that's the norm these days. Our invoices arrived promptly and matched perfectly with the quote we were given. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to others. We are very satisfied with the repairs and with Payne Roofing. Nice to work with honest and dedicated tradespeople!

Eleven years ago they replaced the original roof. This time they cleaned the crevasses and repaired the section that was sliding down. I will not hesitate to call on them again. They were polite, let me know when they had arrived and again when they were done. I am very satisfied with the work.

If you're willing to use this company you've truly reached Rock Bottom not only have I called them several times to figure out why there's work still being done when they've stated several times that today is the last day that they should be there but here we are roof was damage in the rain everything they worked on came undone and now have to wait for another week for a job that's been going on for a month. A normal roof only takes 4-5 day but they love to milk that hoa money because it's the only business they get. Not a single one speaks English and they literally block my drive way everyday. This company's a joke.

Being managers of several large commercial properties, we have worked with Payne for years. Earlier in 2021, David Allen joined the company. When David began addressing our roofing needs, the service we experienced immediately went from good to exceptional. He is truly committed to his craft and is highly detailed with all the work he does. Great job David and Payne!

If you want a week long project to take a month, and if you want things being slammed from the top of your house into a metal bin, violently waking you up at 7am for a month straight, windows being damaged from errant pallets falling away, this is the company for you. I rent my home and the HOA hired these people to repair our roof. We’ve been told on 4 separate occasions that “today is the last day” just to be woken up the next day by someone else banging away. I’m familiar with this business. A 4 bedroom house has taken close to 3 and half weeks to replace.

We had our entire roof replaced in 2021. Payne was accommodating, professional, and on time. We had a few quotes and Payne had the most options and by far the best presentation when the estimator came out to our house. The workers were there everyday with no problems. We are happy with the great work and would highly recommend.

I contacted Geoff Jones with Payne Roofing after the recent storms. He was quick to respond to my concerns and visited the condo to inspect the property. He was great with his follow up and communication. I do appreciate his timeliness and positive customer service. I would totally recommend Payne!

Arizona homes don't always do well with rain. I don't know what happened but our skylight leaked. The folk at Payne organized everything to be taken care of, made all the arrangements, and we fix the roof.

Let me tell you why I'm gladly giving them 5 stars, at every turn and every event 2021 has thrown, they have been willing to always help and always make it right. If you want to do business who you know will do the right thing, call with these folks.

Payne roofing replaced my patio roof and did a repair on my main roof recently. Good quality work, and completive pricing, and a staff that is great to work with. Highly recommend.

The crew was awesome! They worked hard and were extremely efficient. Every night before they left the job site, they cleaned up the ground around the house of debris. I was extremely impressed! Their supervisor was friendly and knowledgeable and made sure the project was done correctly. He answered all my questions and was very thorough. Their senior estimator came to our house and did a great job giving us options. Whenever I called, texted, or emailed, I always received a reply fairly quickly. Overall, this is a great company and I highly recommend them!

They preformed a paid inspection which was required by my lender for a house I am buying. Inspection was done quickly and received the same day. Here comes the trouble:

The report was not signed (which was required by my lender). So I gave them a call and they said they would reach out to the person who did the inspection and they asked if I wanted to schedule repairs.

I decided to use a different roofer to do the repairs and at this point I was told that they will NOT sign my report if they weren't the ones doing my repair even though I paid them for the inspection. Incredibly unprofessional using my inspection hostage so they could make more money.

The HOA pushed this company on us to inspect our roof and claim the roof “looks to be on good
Condition” despite the fact that a licensed building contractor stated that the builder did not put in metal flashing in the roof to allow for water to drain out and the cost of the roof repair caused extensive water damage and the repair work was roughly $11,500. Roofs in good condition don’t cause this kind of trouble. Arizona Department of Real Estate is giving us a hearing to decide on this matter! We will

Save yourself some time, money, and frustrations and do NOT use Payne and Sons. From the very beginning it was difficult to get them to come out on time and finish the job completely without us having to call and speak to multiple people before being told what we agreed upon initially, would be an additional charge now. Furthermore, they damaged some of the seams in my walls with their pounding and refused to fix them so I have long seams between the drywall panels shown ever since. They also NEVER came back to clean up the rotted boards and we were forced to do it ourselves. Now the cherry on top, 5 years and 1 week later we have leaks in the EXACT SAME SPOT and they refuse to provide warranty work as it's outside of the 5 year warranty. Every other roofer I've talked to since has a longer warranty on their work and stands by it with pride. Obviously these guys would rather make the quick buck and don't care about working with you as a customer. I'm still in awe there was no offer of working towards a common goal and I was told "well it's out of warranty and we can have someone come out for a quote" no thanks, I'd rather pay someone else who will stand by their work, do it on time, properly fix the area for more than their warranty period, and actually treat their customers like neighbors or even just human beings going through a crazy world. In summary, choose ANYONE else and let this be a warning.
