I had a great experience at this place. In 2022 I visited Peak Family Dental Care four times for two different procedures: a filling and general cleaning. They did a very detailed evaluation of my dental health and provided the services that I needed promptly and professionally. Everybody from the lady at the front desk to the senior dentist were extremely cordial and respectful. I totally recommend it and I will be back in 2023.

Very satisfied with my visit to Peak Family Dental in the Village of Oak Creek for a cleaning. My hygienist Rebeka was professional, very personable and able to answer all my questions. She did a thorough job assessing my oral health and was gentle but efficient in cleaning my teeth and applying flouride. I highly recommend Peak for dental services.

I love these dentists! My experience since staring to see anyone in this practice has all been exceptional and is over and above all the dental experiences I have had in my 76 years, even when all other dentists have been good and hygienists excellent. I am so glad I chose this group. I am getting good care, answers to newer issues, and solutions with which I am pleased.

I paid out of pocket for my dental work with the understanding they would bill insurance. They told me it would take months for that to happen. I waited patiently and decided to call to find out the status. I still have not received a call back nor have they sent me the bill I asked for so I could submit to my insurance. They are Johnny on the spot for appointments but billing.well.let's just say they are lacking.

I saw Dr. Shanahan over a year ago (Nov.) for gum grafts on 11 of my bottom teeth where significant gum recession existed. I had no pain or discomfort before the grafting. This was a preventative procedure, done with Alloderm (cadaver) grafts to prevent future tooth loss. Dr. Shanahan is a General dentist who does many different procedures, some of which one would normally see a specialist for. He stated that he had done a lot of these gum grafts and was having great success with them, even showing me a current patient's mouth several months after a successful gum graft. His charges were a lot less than the periodontist in the area, and his wait time was a lot less than the perio.dentist. So I decided to do the grafts with Dr. Shanahan.
Several days after having the grafts done, I noticed in the right gum area some strange discoloration as well as continued numbness, despite other parts of my lower mouth "thawing out"
from the septocaine nerve blocks he did to reduce pain during the procedure. Overall, there were many sutures, and there was swelling, discomfort, and need to eat soft foods after the surgery, all of which were expected. At first Dr. Shanahan thought I might have an infection in the very numb area where the tissue wasn't looking great. So after 10 days I started 2 different antibiotics, which caused great gut discomfort but didn't change the problem area. So the dr.thought it was likely that I had a "rare" reaction to the septocaine injection which caused nerve damage in the "mental nerve" area. He hoped it would improve within the next few months, but stated it might take up to a year for the nerve to heal. I tried a few laser treatments in his office, which didn't do much except irritate the nerve area more. For most of the past year, I endured great discomfort in the problem are in my lower mouth/lip area including stange tingling and wierd sensations. As the nerve struggled to heal, I would have sharp, frightening jolts of pain, especially when I would attempt to eat in this area, speak, brush my teeth, or drink something hot/cold. So for many months I had to be very cautious when eating. I had to be very cautious when talking, etc. Eventually the gum grafts healed and look fine now. But after a year, I still have a somewhat numb feeling and occasional tingles and pain sensations in the "problem " area. Will it ever completely heal? I don't know. I requested a partial refund for the pain and stress I have dealt with. But I've had no response. If you are considering a gum graft with Dr. Shanahan, I would urge you to reconsider. Was my experience a "rare" event? I have no way of knowing. The State Dental Board will not reveal these details. Instead, I suggest you see the more expensive, longer wait time periodontal specialist. There is a good one in Sedona and Cottonwood who does similar grafting with Alloderm. They have a lot more training and experience with these types of gum procedures, and are likely worth the effort and the reduced risks. In fact, any time you need to have a somewhat complicated procedure done by a general dentist and you can wait a little while, I would suggest you get a second opinion from a specialist. I would not want anyone to go through what I have.

My dental cleaning by Rita the Hygentis was the best I've had in years. She was gentle and didn't dig aggressively into my gums.
