Phoenix Engine reviews
18The guys at Phoenix Engine did a great job building a 302,330 hp engine for my 1965 Mustang Fastback and I couldn’t be happier. It has been in the car for about a year now and runs amazing! I would recommend them if you are considering an engine build.
Phoenix Engines built a 460 for me and did a awesome job. Great business to work with and quality work. They tuned the engine on a dyno with a Holley Sniper EFI kit. Once installed in truck fired right up and ran perfect. I would recommend these guys to everyone. Just purchased a 302 today from them and ran the same route purchasing the Holly Sniper kit and running the fast track which I recommend. Can't wait to receive this engine. Thank you Phoenix Engines
Liars, They tell you what you wanna hear, And then Lie to you! They mislead you make you think you're getting something that you're not. Liars. I had to click A star to post this They do not deserve a star it
2nd time customers. We had Phoenix engines build an engine for our 1966 Chevy truck more than 21 years ago. So now that we need another engine for another vehicle, there was no question who we were going to trust with this job. Great, friendly and knowledgeable staff!
I recently had my Ford 360 engine rebuilt by Phoenix engine. It was definitely worth the wait. They were very professional and upfront about everything. Super happy with the outcome can’t wait to fully finish my truck and get it back on the road.
Randy and the guys at Phoenix Engine are amazing. When my son needed a rebuild on his 360, we brought it in to Randy. We got to tour his amazing shop and we’re shown what we could expect throughout the process. We had a hiccup with our reinstallation and Randy worked with us to diagnose the problem. He even took in the truck and fixed the issue (that was caused by the mechanic who reinstalled the motor). Randy stands by his work. Thank you Phoenix Engine for a great rebuild and assistance to bring our truck back to life!
Bought 6.4 hemi long block, waited 4 months for delivery. Install engine it ran 4 minutes started knocking. Pulled Engine again then the oil pan it had a broken piston, so I’m out almost $4900.00 I’m very unhappy with this company and there no return calls, stay away from this business!
I called Phoenix Engines inquiring on a 454 motor. This was a call just to get some estimates mind you. I spoke with Randy and this man is an engine encyclopedia! He has the knowledge to answer all of you technical questions and the customer service was outstanding to boot. Again, I called inquiring information. After almost an hour on the phone with Randy, him answering all of my questions, his great service and appreciation for his customers, I decided that this was the right place to get the motor I was looking for. The price was excellent, his reputation is stellar, and their products are all built by hand. These are not production line motors, these engines are built a piece at a time, just the way you want. Randy and his team also offer the fast track break-in program if you’re not comfortable doing the break-in yourself. That was a huge factor for myself. Then if you throw in the fact that this is a family owned business who’s been in business for 50 years, it made my decision to order from them that much easier. I just want to say thanks to everyone over at Phoenix Engines for helping me get exactly what I was looking for and at a great price as well.
Customer service is absolute garbage.
Randy is always on lunch apparently and never available.
Literally go anywhere else
Owner is extremely rude to women and very disrespectful. Will over charge if he thinks he can get away with it!
My buddy and I met Randy at Good Guys Car Show on 3/18/23, Randy is the man! Very very knowledgeable guy and super easy to talk to. We will definitely be visiting his shop soon! Thank you Randy!
I just got my 2nd engine and of course it started right up and runs just as expected. They built me a Chevy 454 and a 383 Stroker. Randy worked with exactly what I wanted for looks and power on both engines, and they are both perfect for the cars I put them in.
This is the place to have your engine built. Randy the owner is very knowledgeable in engines. All engines. And is very involved with his employees. To that, engines are exactly what you ordered.
Phoenix Engine built me an awesome Chevy small block engine for my 1961 Chevy Apache pickup. The fact that they break in the engines is amazing. The motor was basically plug and play for the Ron's Service in Tempe that did the work. I can't say enough good things about the staff at Phoenix Engine, they kept me informed on the process and how the build was going. The motor itself is beautiful and custom painted to my color choice. They are extremely professional and very knowledgeable about their product and how to make sure it lasts a long time. I looked around the internet and wanted to stay local if I could and was thrilled to find them and was even more amazed by the pricing structure. They built me just what I needed. I highly recommend them if you need an engine for your project.
Randy and lunch go hand in hand! I saw that comment below and it's true. I called the other day and he was at lunch. I gave the secretary my name and number to get a call back for a 454 rebuild. Still no call back, i think he's still on lunch. I have cash and will be calling other places. Seems like the service is garbage and they don't warranty their work from other reviews.
Randy at Phoenix engines built me a small block 283 about 27 years ago drove the truck for at least 20 years before I sold it and the guy is still driving it what a motor great guys to work with
I met Randy 2 years ago he is the president of Phoenix engine. I told him what I wanted, A 302 small block Ford To put in my Shelby Cobra kit car. He gave me 1 with 450 horsepower and a lot of bling. Everybody that sees this engine their mouth just drops open
Phoenix engines built a 351M for my 1963 Ford F100, with the fast track program, and a gorgeous dark blue paint job. I have had the truck running for over a year now with almost 10k miles on the engine and it runs great, sounds great, and haven’t had any problems with it.
Randy was super knowledgeable about everything and was extremely helpful in the beginning stages of letting me know what I’ll need to complete my build.
Overall, Great interacting with them and love my engine!
