It’s an amazing trail system and these mountains are one of the most underrated hiking areas around Tucson. However, I would be aware to keep your belongings out of sight in your car as there was some broken glass on the ground at the trailhead. Someone had also littered a bunch of cans of Michelob at the trailhead as well. I also noticed that the sign in box is not being well maintained and the county provided sheets are no longer in there and it’s just scraps of paper. It’s kind of disappointing that the county is starting to neglect this area. Other than that it’s a great trailhead with good parking and the trails are nice.

This is one of the greatest treasures in Tucson, Arizona. The wildlife, Saguaro cactus and views are breathtaking. It’s the best kept secret. An unbelievable experience with nature that will create a lifetime of memories. It’s free!
