Complete waste of time.
To start off, I RARELY write reviews. But I am extremely disappointed & dissatisfied with this school. Before applying MANY people told me not that & that the enrolling process was terrible, but I did not listen. When you are looking at possibly enrolling they call you 24/7, once they have you in the process you hardly hear back from anyone. During my enrolling process you had to get a few things together and I did, I barely made the cut off but finally was able to schedule an interview. Took about a month to have the group interview but I waited and was excited! Did my research and was ready! The interview was held via zoom which I understand because of COVID. It was a group interview and just extremely discouraging. The way the director of the DNS program conducted the interview was very different. I understand you are trying to “hype” up your school but he basically discredited any other diagnostic Sonographers that never attended Pima. He asked each of us 3 interview questions and proceeded to say that the way they choose the students is through an excel spreadsheet so basically that interview felt like it was for nothing. Then at the end of the interview he asked one of the girls to stay back so he could chat with her. What it was about, who knows? But to me it felt like he was picking her to be in the program and it was extremely discouraging and rubbed me the wrong way. It took almost a month for them to get back to let me know I was not accepted into the program, which I figured, but the way they wrote the email did not seem professional and made no sense. Before anything they tell you they have 200 applicants and only choose 20 something, when in the interview the director said we were the last interviewees and they interviewed 150 students. In the non acceptance email they said they had a record high volume of applicants, so which was it? I am relieved that I did not get accepted and can not wait to find a place where they are more welcoming.

I was trying to apply for one of their online programs. Even though i have a bachelor's degree and just wanted to finish classes so i get certified. They are very negative to begin with. She stated that i have less GPA then what they want? Not only that but they didn't even tell me what kind of questions i have to prepare for. They made go through the interview thinking i would just guess answers. And in the end she tells me " you didn't have to prepare for the interview. You should already knew these answers". WE ARE STUDENTS TRYING TO LEARN. WE DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING!

Pima Medical Institute has changed my life. This school hasn't just taught me how to be an excellent dental assistant, but it taught me how to be as a person. Davena Drowns, the dental assistant teacher, is the best teacher I have ever had. I've learned more from her in 6 months then every other school I have been to combined. If your wondering how you can get your start in the medical field pima is the place to go.

DENTAL ASSISTING PROGRAM

This has been quite the journey, thankfully I had support from not only my teacher but all staff members and I'm truly thankful for it. Although it can get hard sometimes my instructor always had my back on helping me grow and learn many things in the dental field, because she's dedicated to providing the best education possible. Constantly going above and beyond for all her students, with a really cordial environment. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who is interested in the dental field.

Pima medical, I’m a current student & Work-Study and I has been the best experience I’ve ever had at any school. All the staff have welcomed me with open arms and are dedicated to helping a student succeed. The campus director Stacy Nottingham, has shown nothing but excellence and also brings a great energy to this campus, it makes it that much more exciting to come and learn. She has opened opportunities for me which I’m super grateful

Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service of this location. After jumping the necessary hoops required to enroll and obtain financial aid assistance to attend this school, nothing definitive from admissions, financial aide, or anyone else at the support center (placed on hold for 11 minutes then disconnected). It would seem that there is no real customer support and I have advised my daughter not to attend this dog and pony show of a trade school.

This was a very negative experience. The admissions rep had a very negative approach on everything. Saying I’m not going to be able to work during this program because the commitment to studying and clinical which I completely understand but people do it all the time! I’ve never heard of anything like that in my nearly thirty years of life. That made me change my mind completely on this school. I could care less about their reputation or credentials. He must really hate his job so much that he has to discourage potential students. Taking time out for an experience like that is beyond me.

I had multiple terrible experiences here! They need to put cameras in the backrooms (where financial aid is etc) so people can see what really goes on. On one occasion I was screamed at by the dean for not making enough eye contact with her, and was told they were going to kick me out for it. My dad called the school to see what happened, and of course they lied about the situation. My dad knew I was telling the truth and encouraged me to stay and not let them get to me (already about halfway done with MAA program). I couldn't put up with the verbal abuse anymore and had to leave. If a school seems to good to be true it probably is.

I loved my experiences as an MA and Phlebotomy student at Pima. I am loving being an instructor here now! Great place to go to school and a great place to work!

This is the worst school I have ever attended. Don’t waste your time our money. You pay all this money and the instructors are not very knowledgeable. 3/4 of the time we watched YouTube videos, I paid 20k to watch YouTube videos and read a book. The staff are not very helpful and usually rude. I’d save your money and attend a much better school.

The first time I went for my appointment I waited 30min after my appointment to see someone. Financial aid is rude and do not explain the financial part correctly.

Loving and caring people. Very friendly people, even when asking for help. Ms. Brittany Hodgedail, best instructor ever, would definitely go back.

One of the best trade schools around. Mr. Juinta and Mrs. Dunn both are amazing instructors as well! The other staff and student services always have a smile on their face when I walk in and it's a good feeling. They all really sit down and talk with you to get to know you. Thank you Pima for everything! I'm almost done!

Dental assisting program is amazing. Davena is the best & most hardworking teacher ever! You definitely will get a great education. She goes beyond to make sure you are going to be a great dental assistant. She also has a 100% pass rate for when you take the DANB (radiology certification exam). Such an amazing experience that I will miss, but it has been a great help in my career.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. I had my adviser meeting with Amanda, she expressed I could reach out to her for any questions but during the meeting with her she was extremely condescending and rude. I left there basically in tears because she made me feel so hopeless and discouraged. I am not even looking into Pima anymore for the ultrasound program because the way she explained it was very fast and unprofessional. She kept asking if I had any questions after she flew through pages of information and talked to me like I was stupid. They also say you don't need pre reqs which is a complete lie. You have to complete pre reqs for the ultrasound program if you have no college under your belt and then you have to apply for the program and have a 15% chance of even being selected. So pretty much the closest start date would be Nov of 2020 that I could start and she made it very clear multiple times that by doing pre reqs it does NOT GUARANTEE me into the program which I completely understood from the beginning. They also have this whole point system that didn't make sense and every time I asked her about it, she would say "I literally just told you and circled it on these pages" well, if she didn't fly through it, acted like she hated her job and repeats herself all day maybe I would have gotten it the first time if she explained it slowly and nicely. I thought Pima would be different from other colleges I had been too but they are exactly the same. Overwhelming and not helpful nor seem to care if you understand or not, just frustrated that she had to do her job. If you hate your job that much then quit, because people are trying to better themselves and you just lost a potential student with a lot of self discipline and determination because your adviser couldn't take the time or talk in a non-condescending tone to a potential future student. Already advised my other friends looking into the same program not to go to Pima and that's solely from my experience with the adviser and lack of information/fast paced meeting she wasted my time in. Find new advisers if you want future students because this place is a joke and false advertisement acting like you can finish the program in 22 months when it takes that long to POTENTIALLY get into the program. When you haven't been to school in 9 years the last thing you need is a discouraging adviser. Thanks to her, I will not be attending this school and already applied elsewhere. Save yourself the time and don't meet with Amanda. Can't speak for the other advisers there but she put a sour taste in my mouth that I will now not be attending this school. ALSO I GOT A RESPONSE TO THIS REVIEW TO CONTACT THE EMAIL BELOW TO MEET WITH THE DIRECTOR, I EMAILED THAT EMAIL OVER A WEEK AGO AND HAD NO RESPONSE BACK FROM THIS SCHOOL. JUST TO TOP OFF THE EXPERIENCE I HAD THERE, THEY DON'T EVEN CARE ENOUGH TO GET BACK TO YOU BASED ON YOUR REVIEWS AND EXPERIENCES. DONE TRYING WITH THIS SCHOOL.

I’m in the Vet Assist program and I can say that so far, all anyone wants you to do here is succeed. Right now I’m in class with Ms. Zepeda and I can say I have never felt so lifted up by anyone before. The people at PIMA are one of a kind and will do anything to help you. This is 100% better than any college I have ever been to. I’m so happy to be here!

Loved it here the instructors are great. Don't expect much from career services if Linda is there. She doesn't help at all.

I read these reviews and wonder why is my daughter having such a difficult experience here. When we came in everyone was so nice and Amanda was awesome in the beginning letting us know if we need anything questions ‘ANSWERS’ contact us feel free to reach out to me. Well that was a joke, my daughter struggled through math through high school as we openly shared and was told we make sure you are learning what’s needed to pass, ha! Not true. My daughter has expressed to the math teacher her concerns and fears of failing because she wasn’t understanding the order of operations, he told her she should have this already memorized and told her the quiz was tomorrow and moved right on to the next math instructions. Her complaint is before they can learn 1 thing he is introducing them to something different. We have emailed and called who we thought could give us some type of input but no answer, finally my daughter was able to speak with someone who said if you fail the final you will just have to take it over, my daughter was just at the passing % 77 before quiz after quiz 72, she’s told to wait 3 weeks to start with November class cant come to school even though she’s passing the other classes and assignments, when you return you will be 8 weeks behind. Now being 8 weeks behind haven’t learned anything from this math teacher outside of he could care less but she is to return to this same class and same teacher 3 weeks later expecting a different result. I’m so lost as to what she should do because she is stressed, discouraged, and losing hope. I really appreciate during our initial meet they would have been clear about the math process that she referred to as basic middle school level math, this is so unfair that she never was interested in hearing what was shared about my daughter history of math nor does the teacher have time to actually teach those who doesn’t understand because he was trying to get everything done in 3 weeks. But she did all her assignments every day tuns of it into 1/2am at night and still treated like a 14,000.00 check. This saddens me greatly and I pray that no one else that struggles with and in anything has to come so close with misguided and misleading information. Oh and don’t believe the “you are able to use a school appropriate calculator “because there is NO use of notes or a calculator ieps don’t matter nor are they recognized here and this you only find out after you have started classes. Thanks Pima!

I came here thinking this school was going to be amazing with all the guidance that you need but that is definitely false. I have the best dental assisting teacher that is very intelligent and helpful, she motivates us and actually cares about her students but other than that, this school is full of empty promises. They overcrowd the classes so you don’t get to learn your skills accurately in a timely manner and they put on a piece of paper and told me to my face that I graduate on December 14th guaranteed and now I’m finding out we aren’t important enough to have a ceremony on that date, now they want to have us wait until April 2019 for our ceremony which is ridiculous. I’m tired of the empty promises and a lot of the administration not caring. The most I can say is that my teacher Davena, the front desk & financial aid are the most sweetest caring people but other than that, I can’t say more. I regret coming here honestly, we spend thousands of dollars and yet we can’t even have our promised graduation date? That does not sound right at all, it’s really not fair.
