Great place with great staff. The front desk office was very nice and the maintenance workers were very nice to me. I love the neighborhood and the community that is here. I have been here for less than a week, but I love everything here.

I like these apartments but they always have construction or loud maintenance that they start at 8am for no reason… maybe try to push it later in the day

Stayed here during my sophomore year at NAU in 1990. Lots of fond memories. Can't believe it is still standing and even looks pretty new.

I love living at Pine View, it's conveniently located near campus and is priced at a really great value. The office staff is always nice and the complex is always doing something nice for all of the residents.

It was a nice, fun, but calm place to live. Mostly students and elderly. It's an odd mix, but because of it being what Flagstaff calls affordable housing, there are a lot of people on section 8 and on other housing programs in the complex which mixes everything up from it being an all student off campus housing vicinity. Management is good, but if you're a student I would stick with talking to only students and not venturing out into strange land. I did not see drugs nor highly violent behavior in the two years I lived here. Be nice to the property manager because she's very good person. Great place to live and that's why I gave four stars. It was nice being around all the students, since I myself am a student.

Looked up low income apartments. The office said they are not low income. The largest floor plan available is a studio.

Reached out to find an apartment and they said they had two available and continued messaging me back and fourth. Then in the same breath said there was none available. Very nonchalant and didn’t seem as if they wanted to help.

I lived here at #174 back in 1982 or so. Was a great place, had a efficiency unit shower toilet, toaster oven and a refrig.the size of a hat box. Was called university roost apts.back then.

NAU students please read (:

Former tenant. If you're just looking at price, this place is decent enough. Pros are that the rent is usually reasonable, it's quiet and safe, and neighbors are generally pretty nice. There's some older folks who live here and they are sweet and cool to talk to for the most part. There's no major problems as far as the actual apartment. My bedroom in a 4x4 was small but livable and I had my own bathroom. There is a laundry room with some older machine and the gym is not great (just 3-4 pieces of equipment and a few weights). It's walkable from downtown and to NAU and grocery stores. The nice lady who does food/community nights is very sweet and always welcomes residents.

The management is on and off. Some of the recently hired management are kind, but forgetful. They may not remember to do your lease paperwork so you may have to remind them a few times. Others are not great. Usually the staff answer the office phone nowadays, but communication could be better. There's a period where water was shut off for hours or days at a time with no warning or a warning after the fact. There was no compensation or reimbursement even though utilities are part of our rent we pay for. Not an impressive move on their part. So be prepared to not be warned when you don't have water/they need to check something. Repair people that are not from Pine View often come unannounced days after they're due to show up (like 5 days after the day they are notified to come). So don't go by the dates they tell you.

There could also be more responsibility on the office's part. All laundry machines were down and the staff refused to call the company and told me I had to do it since it's my laundry machines. Didn't sit well with me. Aren't apartment offices responsible for that stuff? Also, like I said, kind of forgetful too. They once gave me a late rent notice because they lost my check. They fixed it, but not the best thing to have to deal with.

So overall, it's an alright apartment. But I'd recommend renting a room in a house if you can help it. As a student you're less likely to get overcharged like you do with "luxury housing. " Renting in a house is way cheaper almost always, with more amenities.

This place is absolutely atrocious. The amenities are terrible. The wifi barely works, no air conditioning. Way too expensive for what you get. In a terrible neighborhood. I literally saw a car in our parking lot get broke.into. The shady practices of the (making me pay for three months of rent for living in an apartment for 60 days, which to me is 2 months exactly. Do not recommend. I would give it zero stars if I could.

I wasn't sure whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars. I guess I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt we will see if I have to come update this review.

Location: Excellent! 10-15 min walk to downtown, South NAU campus, restaurants/retail stores, and plentiful hiking trails. Better location than a lot of the NAU off campus places on the westside. You can get to any part of NAU with a 10 min bike ride. Pretty easy to get to highway with a car.

Actual Rooms: Depends what you are looking for. They are older and not fancy, but clean. The single room is a great option if you want privacy at a cheap price. You have your own entrance into your average size room with an attached bathroom. Shared kitchen/living area with 3 other people, but never see them. It's like having a small studio.prices range 650-750 including utilities.has built in desk and shelves but not furnished. Other option is full studio for 1050-1200 including utilities. Kinda high. The heater works very well.

Noise: Very little party noise. Some train noise but easy to get used to it. You can hear your neighbors above if you are on the first floor, but not the ones next to you. White noise maker helps. Windows are like paper so if there is construction outside it really sucks.
While the bottom floors are noiser, they are cooler, most of the apartment has great shading so even in the middle of summer with no air conditioning I wasn't hot. But I am non a bottom floor and the shadiest part of the building.

Community: great mix of college students, young adults, the elderly, and a few families. People are nice, events twice a month, lots of dogs.

Grounds/amenity: okay.trees and small grass spots for dogs. Fairly clean but could be cleaner. There is a fitness center, a club house, and two laundry rooms that take credit cards. Only trouble using them are on a Sunday. Smaller complex. Nothing too far apart. Free parking and usually right in front of your place. The lot is always 1/4 empty so easy for guests to park. Unlike some complexes in the area they don't tow you just for fun. I've never heard of a resident getting towed.

Staff. Not terrible but not great. They never answer the phone or respond to emails. But they probably don't have enough people for the job. Wish they seemed to care a bit more about residents problems.

Maintenance- The maintenance is great. There is someone on site 24/7 too. Always quick to fix problems. However, for some jobs they have to use outside people and they can be bad.

Wifi - included in rent and pretty good. Sometimes gets slow but usually fine. Not good enough for gamers or something that requires fast data but for a normal student it is fine. I do skype meetings and it is usually fine, but again, certain times it is slow.

A few complaints:

1. They shut off the water without notifying you which is illegal (unless for a true emergency and I doubt many of these times are true emergencies.) I almost gave them three stars for this, but the problem seemed to have stoped so I am crossing my fingers. It is really unacceptable to leave a resident with no working toilet or running water and then not even offer some discount on rent.

2. The outside maintenance who come to do things like fix carpet and replace toilets never give any warning. They show up on the wrong day. They give you a 4 day window when they can come at any time. Not sure if that is legal.

3. It sucks they don't allow subletting. I will have to move out in June because I will be gone the entire mont of July and I don't want to pay rent. It would be easy to find someone to stay in my place for a month and then I would stay and renew my lease. But since I have to move out I will probably try to find a different place. I would consider coming back, but there are a few better options I will try for.

4. If you work 9 to 5 it can be really hard to get packages as they don't leave them at your door and you can only pick them up in the office.
