Pinnacle Peak Park reviews
17Only 4 stars because we were expecting a little more than just a 1 mile high walk. Having said that, it was great training for my 2 yr old. He hiked all the way from the peak and down across the other mountain attached to pinnacle peak. We loved the informative placards placed around. It was a very trim and easy peasy trail. Completed with my 2 yr old and 1 yr old (carried).
Beautiful hike, the quality of the trek and maintenance make this a top destination. In addition there are many signs explaining the eco system, cacti and other items in route. Highly recommended
Beautiful scenery and an even better hiking trail! Not to challenging if a hike, the elevation changes are always the most challenging part in my opinion.
Glad we went earlier in the morning when it was nice and cool. I’d imagine it gets quite hot.
Beautiful landscape and more Cacti than you can count! So much diverse wildlife! Love how they have educational tidbits as you walk!
This could be the perfect place for a disc golf course. North Scottsdale needs more disc golf courses we are falling behind the other cities! Please contact the city and ask for disc golf baskets!
Very well maintained trail and park. Nice views. Unfortunately not a loop trail and fairly busy.
One of the best hiking trails in the Phoenix area! We've hiked it many times over the years.
Very well maintained trail, total 1.75 miles one way. There is a slight estension of the trail at the end that leads to a quiet road if you need to walk/run further before turning around.
I would say this hike is good for anyone, really. Just go at your own pace. The trail is generally smooth and the inclines and declines have convenient steps to hold your footing. Be careful of other hikers as the trail can be narrow sometimes and the drop from the edge somewhat steep. I saw families, the elderly, and everything in between rocking the trail. Beautiful views as well.
Pinnacle Peak Park is the most well maintained trail I have ever seen in the Valley, they have many signs teaching you about the local flora and fauna. It is an easy hike to the top, if you go in the afternoon you will be shaded from the sun on the east facing side.
Hiked this trail today and really enjoyed it. 3.5 miles total length, good moderate elevation and workout if you want it or just a good steady pace Trail with a nice view.
Pinnacle Peak is a beautiful centerpiece to the North Scottsdale and Troon North areas. Actually one of the main reasons I moved up here. I am also a local Realtor in the area if you have questions. The hike is as challenging as you want to make it, the trail is smooth which is beneficial to not turn your ankles on loose rocks. Beautiful views are everywhere. I have taken thousands of photos over the years. Here are just a few.
Beautiful little piece of paradise. I only give 4 stars because the trail runners and some most all the hikers seem not to understand or listen to trail courtesy, even though the right of way is posted on signs. Thanks for posting the little signs indicating what type of trees each are - its nice to see this when you're new to learning the desert landscape.
Loved the hike. It wasn't the normal hike to the peak. It peaked halfway through the hike and the went up and down after. The rocks and landscape are worth the hike. Very cool.
A great hike north of downtown Scottsdale! It gets hot quick, so we started at 5: 45am and had the second half of the hike in the shade. A few recent rattlesnake sightings, but we didn’t see any…thank goodness! At the end of our hike, the nice ranger lady gave us popsicles to cool off. Overall a great hiking experience!
WOOOWWW!
Great trail with great views. Not a bad jog or hike.
Of course bring plenty of water and during the summer the earlier in the day the better.
Staff was great also
I did this walk last week and two years ago. Too much development going on all around takes away from the incredible views. You need to look over and past the house’s below to ignore the development.
Will get your heart racing, but not overly strenuous.
One way trail (not a loop) approximately 2 miles. Elevation up & down, be ready to hike up a mountain (two peaks), great cardio & legs workout. Water & proper shoes a must.
