Plato's Closet-Tempe

This is like the worst Plato’s closet I’ve been to. How are you gonna take my brand new barely used UGG boots and offer $11!? !? Craziness. Don’t bother coming here because they will low ball you!

Definitely one of the best plato’s closet in AZ.i’ve been here a couple times and i’ve had a good experience each time.when they buy in your items they give you reasons as to why or why not, and pay out a really good amount for the items you bring in, while still being fair in their pricing. All the associates i’ve interacted with are super friendly! Props to the owner as well, they seem very on top of things here, with just reading the other reviews.

Great place! Went with my husband to harbor freight and looking around I noticed the store! He got my Christmas presents there, a new Nine West purse, and two new wallets (Bebe and Steve Madden) for $24, I’ll definitely will go back!

Great selection on clothes went in looking for business attire for a new job. I found new closes with tags still on the blazer with the original tag on the it said 79 bucks I only paid $16 bucks Customer service was great the girls were helpful and friendly would recommend 10/10

Don’t waste your time bringing your stuff here. They deny free people, Zara, h and m, Levi’s, new with tags because they have “over stock” in the store?

The associates in this store are friendly and helpful. They had no problem with helping me find a last min homecoming dress for me daughter. I will definitely be bring my girls back to shop at this location

Disappointing experience. I came in and explained to a worker how I had a 50% coupon and shopped for about an hour. Once I got done and started checking out, she then lets me know the coupon won’t work without even seeing it. I show her on my phone that it says valid at this location but she still won’t let me use it. I understand they have the right to refuse anything, I just would’ve appreciated that communication before I spend an hour shopping and then some sort of compensation for that. Even $5 off even would’ve been so nice but because she was so uncooperative and didn’t listen to me I just felt undervalued and I won’t be going to this location again.

It’s nothing on the employees but the business model sucks.they offer you so little money for items compared to other thrift stores, which was still OK when they actually took items.they have quit taking MOST items because their inventory is high— it’s high because they charge way too much for USED items.so many out of style clothes just sitting there because no one wants to buy a used shirt when they could pay only a few dollars more for a brand new item that’s actually cute. I brought in a lot of clothes that were very popular brands with tags still on and they won’t take it—no room amongst their worn, out of style, over priced stuff.i never find anything there to buy anymore.

Always a good place to go. Friendly staff, great customer service.

I’m sorry to see the black woman’s ridiculous statement about racism.
Maybe your clothes were not acceptable, happens to everyone.

Pretty good thrift store. The staff is really friendly. My daughter likes to go here. I found a great pair of Teva sandles here.

This is my absolute favorite Plato’s Closet location! Such a great place to sell clothes and revamp your style! The staff is not only super friendly, but they always have such a great selection

Plato’s Closet Tempe is by far my favorite location. They have the most respectful staff and amazing owner. It is worth the drive any where in the valley for buying or selling clothes. They also donate to the animal shelters! Bonus win!

Have been coming here…probably since their beginning! Can’t believe it’s been how long!? I feel compelled to write a review as I ventured to another trade for cash place and my experience was zero compared to this particular Plato’s Closet team!
The owner and the team are always transparent with me and make me feel welcome when I come in. I always go in expecting very minimal and they always surprise me with what they are able to offer (in a good way!) — I know I’m probably a little older than their usual crowd but I like to think I still dress hip! Sometimes they think so too<3
If something is off they don’t let it show and seem to have a good little team comaradarie. It shows it seems to be a good and safe place to work!
They also have a particular section where if you buy from it they give a portion of the proceeds to an animal shelter - we very much appreciate this!

Always been a favorite for my girls and myself. So that's an awesome from 5 females in this family

It’s not the first review I see about discrimination here unless you’re white they won’t buy anything you’re selling. If you’re coming to shop don’t bother it’s all beat up shein floral crop top nothing good. Never coming back to this location again

Love shopping here! Atmosphere is inviting, staff is friendly and the owner is very accommodating. Back when they did invoicing/shipping they would sometimes hold my stuff for months before I was able pick it up as I live all the way on the opposite side of town. Still a great place to shop!

I can’t say enough good things about this location! I’m always treated so kindly by everyone, and they make selling my clothes super easy. I walked away with over $50 today, and had a fun conversation with one of the friendly girls at checkout. I’ve always enjoyed shopping and selling my clothes here, and I highly recommend trying it out for yourself.
