Sweet and professional. Cash explained everything prior to any action and was attentive and considerate to my needs and wants. The salon is comfortable and homey and all personnel were friendly and kind. Happy to be back!

Pure Mettle has been my go to salon for a little over a year now. They have never failed to execute and give me the haircut that I want! Everyone apart of the Pure Mettle staff is welcoming, caring, and prioritizes you the second you walk through the door. The owner is one of the most amazing people I have ever met, as his passion for his job, clients, staff, and community shine brighter than anyone else. Pure Mettle is the best hair salon in Tucson.

My eight year old daughter was excited to experience her first haircut at a salon, and Melanie did not disappoint! She did a great job listening to what my kiddo had in mind, talking her through what she was doing, and approaching her work with playful professionalism. My child had a blast and loved her haircut. We will absolutely return to Melanie for haircuts in the future.

My sister and I came here because we needed to find a good hair place in Tucson near the U of A and they were amazing. Marshay gave me a bang trim and blowout and my hair has never looked better! The blowout was amazing and left my hair looking so soft and silky. Everyone was also extremely friendly and made me feel so comfortable. Will definitely be coming back.

I just fell in love this studio! It is such a beautifully cool space, the staff is so welcoming and Kate is fantastic. I came in for fabulous cut, color and highlight and that is exactly what I got. Kate was constantly checking in to make sure I was relaxed and comfortable at every transition and her high level of expertise as a colorist allowed me to trust her to do pretty much whatever she wanted with my color and highlights. If you are thinking of checking out this studio, do it! I highly recommend.

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Marshay for over 2 years now, and she never fails to impress! I’ve not once gotten a cut that I didn’t like from her, and she is my go to! I would definitely recommend her if you don’t already have a set stylist.

The experience from first stepping foot in the door of Pure-Mettle to leaving at the completion of service was so positive and upbeat that I felt good for the rest of the day. I first tried this salon because of the reasonable pricing that I found, after my former hair stylist raised prices so high (over double of that of Pure-Mettle!) that I could no longer afford her. I had color and a cut done and walked out loving the new look. But also, people (staff, clients, walk-ins) were so warm and friendly that it was as if I was spending my time with lifelong friends. This was my second visit and I will definitely be back.

There is no-one like Kate! She's the best hairstylists/colorists in Tucson. Her haircuts give my thin hair lots of volume. Her masterful skills at coloring make my hair have depth, shine, and beauty. Besides her outstanding skills with anything and everything hair, she is friendly, kind, vibrant, creative, thoughtful, and an excellent listener. I always leave my appointments with Kate smiling and feeling fabulous.

Karen is AMAZING, My SKIN is GLOWING. I left there with my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. I couldn't be more pleased with my facial, she was very attentive and professional throughout the entire process. She took the time to answer my questions and made sure I felt comfortable. Very happy to have found Pure Mettle; I'm writing this after my second visit. It's a great little space (recently renovated nicely) and I had a terrific experience with Melanie. She's precise and opinionated in all the right ways. The place is comfortable and they seem to have a range of services. Minor amount of product upsell but that's to be expected. Lastly, I note that their price is *very* reasonable for the service that you get, at least for a guy's short cut.

I’m not one to leave reviews, but I received a haircut yesterday and I’m honestly really upset and sad for how it turned out. Especially the more and more I look at it. I asked for a lob with a slight angle with it being longer in the front and short in the back, adding long layers. As you can see in the photo it’s definitely not what I asked for and due to bad layering, my hair has a weird short chunk cut in the front (mullet like). As well as, inconsistent layering throughout that will now take forever to grow out and be even again without going shorter than it is.

***update: WORST haircut in my entire life. I legit have to wear hats and try to pull my hair back to cover the embarrassment I have as hair now. Be warned if you’re thinking about a haircut or receiving layers. Go somewhere that has some sort of skill in their profession.
