RA Sushi Bar Restaurant, Mesa AZ

RA Sushi in Mesa I must say has incredible food.
Unfortunately we had a party of 5 tonight, $135 before tip and our food was served in such a manner that some were completely finished before others even got their food.
Not just 1 plate, but 2 different people's meals.
By the time everyone had been served our dinner together had been ruined.
We did not want to further cause upset within our party, so we paid our bill and tipped the server properly as I didn't feel this was her issue.
I hope Management will review and identify how such a problem could occur with a small party of 5.

I am so disappointed I come here a lot and never get let down. But as the years go by its as if the quality gets worst and worst. Today was the final straw as I got the Shrimp noodles and was given TWO shrimps cut in half. Are you serious? I don't mind the prices but I being charged what I do it's not enough to justify? I am greatly upset and hope this review shows the owner how they must increase the quality and not be such a stickler when it comes to certain sea food. I am completely in awe.

Overall the food was good. A few things we ordered they were out of. Even a drink. Service was nice but a few times we needed something, it took awhile for he to appear again. They had these big drinks that was big enough for 2 people to share.

Just.idk. Awful food. The edamame was too cool and not well salted. Their crunchy spicy tuna thing.just.bad proportions and texture issues that im sure if the chef tried to eat would understand the issue right away. Minced, lump of raw tuna.

Their sushi menu is just lack luster without having really.any good amount of actual raw fish. Imitation crab and shrimp. Sure. But was a disappointment. Having the menu be a QR code seems trendy but also isolating for older patrons and not the experience I prefer.

The motto should be. " if it doesn't taste good, make it spicy".

Left feeling kinda sickish and sad to have spent an afternoon there.

Zugoi was closed. This wasn't a good replacement

Annoyed by the bad customer service. I submitted an online order for pickup at 7: 50pm. I received an email saying my order would be ready at 8: 32pm. I arrived right on time and was told to wait another 25 minutes because they were busy. The restaurant could've easily sent me a text or email letting me know that my order was running behind by 25 minutes, instead of me waiting around the parking lot. The lady at the front could have offered me a iced tea or some type of drink while I waited. The customer service is just bad tonight.

We got sat and waited like almost 20 mins for our server to say “I’ll be back in a second”. Sure, we were greeted and told her we needed more time to look at the menu. Not 20 mins. Then, 5 minutes later comes back and takes our order. She was serving the table next to us. They (party of about 5 or 6) got their food before we did (couple). Finally about another 10 mins we got our food. The sushi and sashimi were delicious and tasted fresh. Once we were done we waited another 10 or 15 mins for her to even give us the bill. 2/3 the time we were there was spent waiting on our server to pay attention to us. Then as she turns around, rolled her eyes that the top probably wasn’t as big as she would’ve liked. Sorry we sat at your table for an hour and you didn’t get a bigger tip, when we probably spent 45 of those minutes waiting on you to check on us and take our order and give us the check. The food is good. Servers hit or miss. Either charismatic and attentive or snobby and won’t pay attention to you if they feel like you won’t tip good.:)

It was a very but very poor service we ordered a California roll, A chili shrimp roll, a margarita, and a salad and we stood there waiting for an hour and 5 minutes just to not get our food, a worker even got confused thinking we ordered a crunchy California roll and at the end we never got our food. Waste of 1 hour and 5 minutes.

RA is our favorite sushi restaurant. The staff at this location is often a hit or a miss but the food is ALWAYS so good and on point. My husband and I love this place, and we highly recommend it.

I ordered online today. Our chicken wings were raw i had to recook it to an air fryer. The steak is bloody I didn’t even order rare.

Food and drinks were great. But felt rushed by the server, she kept bringing the check without once offering if we would like anything else. Felt like we were being rushed out.

Awesome service and freakin delicious. I never thought you could get such good sushi in the desert... This place is awesome.

I am so disappointed in the service that I received last night. I have not come here because of the not so great reviews I get from family & friends, but they sent a birthday coupon so my hubby and I decided to try.

First, the service at the bar was just awful. I am a bartender and this bartender made us fill like we were bothering her being there. It took forever to just get acknowledged, then to get drinks and over 20 mins before she asked us what we wanted to eat. We asked for a fork 3 times while our food was sitting in front of us, finally had to ask a girl with short hair in a pink t-shirt for one.

Second, it took forever to get our food, my husband got is roll and then it took almost another 20 mins for my handroll and nigari. I ordered on the of $15 rolls as a handroll and I got one handroll, that barely had anything in it. I asked for sauces and there were none in it and barely any of the fish.

The white peach Sangria was flavorful, but I don't any alcohol was actually in it. The only bright spot was my husband saying let's get one more roll to share cause we are still so hungry. We got the Scallop Dynamite Roll and OMG it was amazing! Only reason this is getting any stars is because of this roll.

After my $20 coupon we still had a $73 bill and were still so hungry. Our normal place is Sushi Brokers and we will continue going there in the future. My mistake trying somewhere new. I go there spend $70 and leave full, I get a roll made into a Handroll, that is two of them stuffed with everything and so flavorful.

I am more disappointed in the service more than anything and couldn't believe how she made us feel.

I will go back and get that one roll to go on occasion, or maybe see if Sushi Brokers can make it for me!:)

The waitress we had was not very polite. She got agitated because she had to find us paper menus as our phones weren't reading the scanner menus at the table. It took a really long time to place our order and when we finally did order it took a while to get our food. My sister and I both ordered the chicken teriyaki. It was really disappointing. The chicken was tough, the vegetables had no flavor and the rice was clumpy. This is not a place I would recommend nor is it one I will be returning to.

We were on our way to this restaurant but because of the bad reviews we turned around

Not as great as I remember, the sashimi was a little funky, made me feel like it wasn't as fresh as I remember. Not bad but not great. Bartender was 10/10 though, took great care of us and very personable

The location is very accessible from the US 60 and Val Vista Dr.in Gilbert.
The food was fabulous, with multiple selections of Asian rolls ie: Califorrnia, New York and others to numerous to mention here. Wasabi (Awesome) and fresh Ginger.
Wonderful, tasty rrice bowls and nice selections of side sauces for them, ie: Mango, Eel (which was awesome, very tasty,), Soy, Peanut, and a few others.
Different Sake's to choose from, hot as well. Some Chinese Beers and Sake bombers, other well and premium alcohol available, with some great house drinks to choose from as well.
The atmosphere was pleasant with, great background music playing.
A nice outdoor patio with tables (with service not known, no outdoor music.).
Service was very efficient, pleasant and timely.
The only thing that I would have liked to see differently would be that there were no Low top tables with padded chairs, and no, high backs with cushions for the bar stools at the high top takes where we sat, or an automatic door for the disabled.
With the exception of the last mentioned issues it was a wonderful place to eat. The money spent was well worth the cost.
Cannot wait to revisit the establishment.

Filet mignon had no taste and the chicken was about as bland as it gets. Portions are very small as well for 40$ a plate. Will never come back haha

Neither me nor my family will ever do business with this restaurant again. I went with my brother and elderly father to celebrate my birthday and the fact that my dad, who had just finally recovered from a very intense medical procedure, had recovered enough to be out in public again. The food was mediocre but more than that it was the worst service I have ever had. The waitress (who was visibly not wearing a bra) had the worst attitude. She had absolutely zero manners and didn't even try to pretend to be in a good mood or even smile. So yeah, if you have something to celebrate don't do it here.
