Ramsey Vista Campground, Hereford AZ

Difficult drive up the mountain but worth the trip. Great views and great hikes from the campground. No water or electric. Primitive or fully self sufficient camping only.

Great views on the way up Carr Canyon Road. As the Park Service sign says, the road isn't for passenger vehicles. The lower portions are deceptive, seemingly easily traveled. About when the switchbacks begin, however, the road surface degrades to looser and larger rocks, not suitable for passenger car suspension. Unfortunately, I didn't make the campground.

Love this place, just wish we didn't run into illegals hiking across the border through here

It's a nice campground, we drove up there for a test drive after working on our Jeep.

Beautiful getaway close to town with access to the trail system in the Huachuca Mountains.

Lovely campground and a cool refuge from the heat in summer. Stunning views from the cliff-hanger road on the way up. Miles of hiking trails close by. After a good monsoon, in late August through early September, the fall bloom on nearby Carr Peak is spectacular. Hundreds of migrating hummingbirds stop by to refuel from the masses of flowers before heading further south. One of the treasures of SE Arizona.

It is worth every slow moment! The views are just breathtaking and do pause fully stopped and take a few photos. Going up and going down.

Only one serious suggestion:

"Afraid of heights" ****** let other non-afraid do the driving ***** never attemp by self.it is very very high and and 9n the edge driving.

These things made clear. The entire (5) miles up and down will leave you amazed.

Campgrounds are real nice and set back far from any concerns for edge of height risks.

Such a pretty view of the city. This a fun place to visit with a family. Bring jackets this time of year.

Very remote cars not recommended don't go if it's raining plan on staying if you get caught up there in the rain the roads really bad four-wheel drive trucks quads SUVs only
