Romero House Potters reviews
9I have taken a number of classes at Romero House, most recently a paper clay class with George Peñaloza. George is meticulously creative in his own work and encourages his students to work in the same way. He happily conveys his love of and skill with paper clay in his class.
I feel so fortunate to have found Romero House while on a visit to the TMA artist showcase! I just finished my first set of 3 classes "sculpting with paper clay" with George Peneloza. George is a master in the medium and has volumes of techniques to share/demonstrate. He provides a lively yet easy-going atmosphere and encourages all students to push beyond their comfort zone by trying new techniques and expressing creatively in each work of art.
Romero House is full of artists of all ages-all skill levels and is a friendly atmosphere. I'm looking forward to more classes with George and other instructors!
Great place to take pottery classes, fun downtown location with super nice people. George is a very talented instructor and lots of fun to be around.
I took a lesson with George on how to sculpt with paper clay and he was super helpful and kind. Very flexible, and generous with his time and expertise. On top of that, the studio has a lovely community environment and I enjoyed seeing other artists working on their own projects. Everyone was very friendly. Would recommend this studio to anyone regardless of their level of experience with clay!
I'm so happy with my experience at romero house. Everyone is so helpful and encouraging. I feel very inspired by the work of the teachers, students and potters that are part of this community. I look forward to spending more time here and taking George's class to learn how to use paper clay for sculpting. I highly recommend this studio.
I was given wheel lessons with Nan for my birthday and was instantly hooked. The classes are great, but beyond the classes the community of potters at Romero House are extremely knowledgeable, talented, generous, and encouraging. I also really appreciate the cooperative model of the studio which allows you access all the tools, glazes, kilns, and other stuff you need to go from lump of clay to a final, glaze-fired product for the weekly cost of a couple of yoga classes.
This is a great place if you want to take some classes and interact with other people who are interested in pottery and ceramic arts.
Great place to work on clay, get help if needed, glaze pieces, and feel part of a community. Need to be fully vaccinated and wear a mask inside the building. Monitors are there to answer questions and take you on a tour of the grounds.
