SakeBomber Sushi & Grill reviews
21Great cozy little place. The sushi chefs are very friendly if you sit at the bar. They also have monthly specials on drinks and rolls
The Happy Hour deals are worth it! Everything is reasonably priced and tastes incredible! The staff is friendly and helpful. Very clean establishment.
This is our go-to for sushi. Great food, we can take our family, they have a happy hour too!
Came here couple nights ago and got to go, and I’m not sure if it was what time I came in or what but the sushi did not taste good at all. I did not get to finish the sushi because it didn’t taste right or good at all. If there is a way to get a refund or something I would.
They are a local business with a small team so PLEASE be patient! I promise you its worth the wait ️ my boyfriend and I went in during a weekday for lunch and there were only a couple of other people inside so no wait (yay)! Their boba is soooo good, i think they make their own boba pearls? Im not sure, but its the softest, yummiest boba I've ever had. Its not chewy like gum.
I ordered the "volcano roll". So pretty! The other rolls we got were great too. The sushi here is always good. We come here often but I had to leave a review this time just so I can show off how pretty this volcano roll is, hehe.
Overall, I highly recommend getting a drink from their "Boba Boss". You'll never be disappointed. Get 2-3 rolls for two people, that was a perfect amount. Be careful going here on weekends, this seems to be a favorite for big parties to celebrate special occasions or just a night out, causing a long wait for everyone else. I recommend lunch time during the week!
SakeBomber was our favorite Sushi restaurant but Friday night changed our minds. The sushi rolls were much smaller than we remembered and not as tasty. The presentation was beautiful but the value is not there. Sadly, we won't be back.
This was my first time here, and I was not disappointed. My buddy told me not to order too much, as the portions would be massive. I had the firecracker, lollipop roll, and also some salmon sashimi. Not only did I forget to take a picture (since it was so delicious), I also needed help from my friends to finish said meal! I can't wait to come back, and I already know what I want to try next. Thanks, SakeBomber!
Not good sushi. Mostly rice. Never seen sushi like that. Food is below standard food quality and taste and very overpriced. Haven't been to their happy hr but other rhan that very over-priced sushi for bad quality food.
Wow
Update 7.23.22:
Something changed. It's not the sushi grade standard that I recall from a year ago. It's starting to become generic sushi like store-bought kind but still expensive. It truly wasn't worth eating here again.
This place used to be great, now the prices are just through the roof. A plain veggie roll was 11.95.most basic rolls over $10 where anywhere else they're like $6.
Half their menu is just taped off due to being out of stuff.
Closed Sundays and Mondays and only open from 4-9 pm now? Seems like they're trying to go out of business, sad to see a classic Tempe restaurant die off.
This location had the best customer service, and a good variety of sushi. My fav roll was the killer shrimp, and the spider roll with the soft shell crab! It was delicious. We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 boba teas, and 5 sushi rolls for around $120.00. Decent prices and great atmosphere! 9/10 would recommend.
Didn’t get the chance to experience their food for our date night as the hostess wasn’t as welcoming of us after waiting for 30 minutes. During the ID check, she threw our IDs on the counter, grabbed the menus and said “This way! ” No thank you!
The food wasn't as good as I remember it tasting years ago, but the presentation is on point.
I love the new Boba menu and the drinks are amazing. But as far as sushi is concerned. I've had much better elsewhere in the valley.
Sushi was edible. Definitely overpriced for the quality. The boba cocktails were great but it's not enough to make me want to go back or even recommend it to anyone.
I’ve been coming to this place for YEARS and it never disappoints. The sushi is fantastic and their Boba is BOMB. I would pick this place over Ra or any other big sushi place. Also shout out to Rebecca for being so nice to us tonight. Definitely will be back ;)
This place wasn't that busy on a Saturday night so it was easy to find a spot and not have to wait forever. The environment and food did the job. It was a fun and mildly quiet place to catch up with my family. Overall a good place to try if you are in Tempe and it's a busy time around town.
Super hole in the wall. I always passed this place thinking it was nothing but I was wrong. Happy hour was busy, the food was good, and the sake bombers were plentiful. I don't think they have the best prices around for a sushi happy hour. However, the service was great. Max was super friendly and did his best for how busy it is. Give this guy a pat on the back and a raise.
This place has a cool vibe when you walk in. The happy hour prices are not that great though- expensive for what you get. Be aware that when asking for more ginger they will charge 75 cents each time. Blue wasabi has better happy hour prices on drinks and sushi rolls & they give you tons of ginger at no extra cost. This is the first place I've been to that charges extra for ginger and does not tell you they do till you see the bill.
We went out with friends for dinner. We love sushi so we figured we'd try this place. We are so glad we did. The staff is amazing and super nice and helpful. The rolls were so good. We had a total of 11 rolls for our group and all of them were great. Happy hour between 5 to 7 pm as well! Super happy we found our new go to sushi place
Service was great - highly recommend Max as a waiter. He recommended the Kiss my Bass role and it was the best sushi I’ve ever had!
