Santa Catalina Catholic Church reviews
7I didn't go into the church but I attended a wedding in the garden to the right. Everything went very well and I was happy to see Jacquie and Kenny married. My late partner and best friend, Denise was there in spirit.
When we arrived 10 minutes early there was no where to sit. They blocked off dozens of seats. There were no pews or kneelers, it was more like a meeting facility. The entire atmosphere felt very un-Catholic. I don’t go to mass for entertainment.
Julie the organizer here was nice, but also trying to do everything her way. We insisted we wanted certain tables decorated a certain way and we would bring the center pieces for our mothers reception after her mass, but she kept trying to talk us out of it. We just lost our mother and her demeanor just wasn’t professional, she was overall very insensitive. To top it off, she would text us the day of telling us we needed certain things and now (very demanding) Not only that, but she asked us if we wanted our mother services streamed the day of her funeral mass. We said yes and sent us the link a couple days ago so we sent it to a lot of our family and friends back home in NV that wasn’t able to attend. The day of the funeral we were going to make sure it was recording, but we got so overwhelmed with our grief and making sure of other things. Julie never started the live link and we had tons of family and friends back home that never got to share in my moms mass because she forgot to start the live for my moms mass. It was very upsetting because that is not something we can go back and do. I don’t recommend this church at all.
There are so many friendly people here who greet you as you’re coming in. From the bulletin it seems like they have a lot of classes and events going on to keep you engaged. The view is spectacular and the priests are easy to understand.
When in Tucson this is my favorite church for Mass. Beautiful surrounding to be in sync with the Lord.
I occasionally visit the stations of the cross here. A good place for thinking about things. The bronze works are very nice. A path connects the stations on 3/4 acre and is easily walked. Benches are provided.
