My daughter had a very serious traumatic brain injury in a car accident. She was in the ICU for 16 days, and subsequently was an inpatient in a neuro-rehabilitation clinic for 7 more months. She had post-traumatic amnesia for 5 months, while any longer than one week in PTA is considered "long-term". She has been receiving therapy 5 days a week for memory and cognitive impairments for over 2 1/2 years now. We applied for SSDI a little less than 1 year following the accident which we understood was the minimum time she needed to be out of work to qualify, and we assumed her application would be approved since her disability was very obvious. To our surprise, she was denied because the Social Security Administration (SSA) said she was not disabled basically because "she could move and think"! She had been examined for less than 2 hours by a neuro-psychologist retained by SSA who disagreed with the 18 other neuro-psychologists who had been working with her since her accident, all of whom determined she could not work. At this point we retained Anna Schiffman at Schiffman law to assist us. We appealed the decision to deny coverage, and SSA upheld its original decision to deny. We decided to ask for a review of our case by an Administrative Law Judge which was our last chance to get a favorable decision. Now, more than 2 1/2 years after her accident, and more than 1 1/2 years since we initially applied, Anna Schiffman called us to say that she had petitioned the Judge to rule without a hearing since our case we so clear that SSDI should have been approved, and that the Judge ruled in my daughter's favor immediately. We just got the written confirmation of the ruling which provided for retroactive payments to 6 months following the date of her accident which would have been the initial eligibility date had SSA approved our application in the beginning. We were very pleased with the assistance Anna Schiffman and her team provided, and would highly recommend her firm to anyone that is denied coverage for SSDI benefits. We would have been better off had we retained Schiffman Law from the beginning rather than trying to get through the application process ourselves.

This Anna Schiffman attorney is terrible. I had to do all the running around with documentations etc.

I never had a coaching talk, or met her until we were with administrator judge. At the hearing she acted like a prosecutor than a defence attorney.

Awful law firm worst one I've ever worked with and to top it all off. Even though it's in the contract that you don't pay them UNLESS THEY WIN YOUR CASE, they still tried asking the a request fee for their "time and services" when they did not do literally one thing to help me. They just handed the same exact papers I gave them to the jusge. What help. Geez. Thanks no way I could've done that. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS AND OTHER LYRICS OUT FOR YOUR MONEY!
