I had a horrible experience today with Smart Choice. I have dealt with them before with no issues through AHS. Today, a technician was assigned to come to my property through AHS to fix an AC water leak. Since I was advised by my HOA that I have that leak, they asked me to submit pictures to them as proof that the issue has been fixed. I communicated with Smart Choice dispatcher today and asked her to advise the tech to take three pictures and send them to me via text or email (one picture of my house number at the top of the parapet wall and two pictures of the work completed). I got a msg from them telling me that Smart Choice is contracted by AHS and they’re unable to accommodate my request of photos documentation without charging me an extra $94.50 (30 minutes labor) for “additional services”. They demanded that I call and pay over the phone. I know for a fact, and I even explained to the dispatcher that the technicians normally take these pictures anyways to submit to AHS, so all I wanted was just texting them to me, which would never take more than 1-2 minutes to accomplish. I called AHS, they told me that customers should never pay the vendor directly and any additional charges should be submitted to AHS first to get authorized by them. I ended up canceling my appointment, and called another AC company on my own expense to fix my AC. What a terrible experience!

I am so glad my friend recommended me Smart Choice. They came and repaired my AC. Angel and his crew were very polite. They are going to come back later this month to extend my porch and possibly do more to my yard. I am thankful for all the services they provide.

We called Smart Choice to fix our AC unit. The person I spoke with on the phone was very kind and helpful. The gentlemen that worked on our unit were very knowledgeable. They got straight to work. Our AC works great. We haven’t had any issues since. We are definitely using them in the future!

We had issues with our a/c unit last year. Our home warranty company had smart choice come out to take a look. Our old unit was not in good shape so we had them replace it with a new one. The technician explained to us what our options were for a new unit. Very fair pricing. Offered financing. Install of the new unit was done within the week of purchase. Very pleased with overall service they did a great job. They made everything so easy from start to finish. Just today called to have someone come out to take a look at our thermostat. Technician came out today to take a look. Again provided excellent service.

Smart Choice installed a new AC unit in my home. I compared their quote with other companies around the city and it was all about the same. They didn't try to get me to get more than I needed. I appreciated the customer service as well. The workers were respectful, professional and knew what they were doing. Please consider Smart Choice for your AC needs! I am so pleased with them.

Michael and Gabriel came out for a service claim and discovered more issues than they were initially called out for (unfortunately from a previous claim with another company). They helped us diagnose the issue and gave us information on what options we had to move forward. Remained very professional and very helpful. Took time to make sure we understood everything and that all of our questions were answered.

Dominic and Michael inspected the a/c condenser unit and the furnace unit.
It was discovered that paint was inside the a/c condenser and on the outside from having had the house painted lat Fall, 2023. The service was excellent and timely. Thank you.

We are very happy with the service received from the AC Tec Michael Robles. He took his time explaining the issues with our AC unit and gave us detailed options for new units. He was very kind and patient. Great, great service and pricing!

Angel and Adrian excellent service men, a very smart choice I feel I have made in hiring the Smart Choice Company

I strongly advise against using Smart Choice for HVAC repairs, based on my disappointing experience. My heat pump needed fixing, and American Home Shield assigned them for the job. However, they incorrectly attributed the issue to poor maintenance and attempted to charge me nearly $3,000 for unnecessary cleaning and sanitizing services. After persistently contacting American Home Shield for a week, they finally agreed to send a different contractor. Subsequently, three other contractors diagnosed the actual problem – a low voltage short in the condenser. During this time, my elderly tenant suffered without heating.

Furthermore, when I called Smart Choice to discuss their misdiagnosis, the response from their staff was dismissive and unhelpful. They insisted on their faulty diagnosis, citing strict guidelines from AHS, and when I requested to speak with the owner, the call was abruptly ended.

I strongly recommend refusing Smart Choice if American Home Shield suggests them, and instead request a different contractor. Their service and attitude were among the worst I've encountered.

I just had Winston and Angel from Smart choice heating and cooling save the day. Unfortunately, they had a bad board right out of the box for my repair and it was looking like I might have to wait another week for a board. I'm disabled vet dealing with serious health issues and so these gentlemen unbeknownst to me went and found another new board and came back shortly after. They installed that board and now we have heat again. Thank you!

Angel and Julian are top notch professionals! They were courteous and professional coming into my home, even asked if they should put covers on thier shoes. Honestly, they made sure I knew how to operate and what to expect of the heating and cooling system in my new home. I appreciated thier honesty about my "not up to code" heating system, and filter tips to keep my system working at it best. I will use SmartChoice again for all my heating and cooling needs. - Valerie
