Sonoran Science Academy - East reviews
7 By far the worst school in the area. This place is ran by Turkish folks that like dictating every student for ridiculous things. Everyone is constantly being monitored by a ridiculous excuse of a “dean of students, ” who stands in the hallway looking at girls like a creep ensuring they’re up on dress code standards… The principal on the other hand is an embarrassment. He’s just in the seat thanks to his Turkish buddies that put him there. I only see him when he’s annoyed about something.
Additionally, many of the students here are dropouts or rejects as others have stated on this forum. Expect your kids to get along with many displaced/troubled children throughout their school…
Found a macaroni cup filled with roaches, both dead and alive. Somehow still better than the school lunch
We have had great experiences academically, with administrators, teachers and handling behavioral issues. We have seen vast improvements on my child’s education, drive to learn and personal growth expectations. They do not tolerate bullying; and they hold my child accountable for misbehaving. Behaviorally, they have provided resources to my child to help grow into a respectable person and make better decisions. The teachers are very caring and take the time to get to know the kids; they provide a caring and loving environment. The administration has been superb to work with and are extremely supportive. I have been so pleased from pulling my child from TUSD into SSA East!
This school is great, but it could be better. Please read below for Pros and Cons.
Cons:
It used to be a 8: 1 teacher student ratio, and now more than 25 kids in a class exist. Not only that the food, it unfortunately doesn't seem to be real, but you can always bring your own lunch. This school is very strict, and this is because of a load of students misbehaving a lot everywhere during school.
Pros:
This school has very kind teachers, and work can be easy but not all the time. If you ever need help, you can always email them for the help, the teachers are glad to be helpful.
If you were wondering where I received this information, is because I graduated here in
May of 2021. This school is overall okay, but it needs a lot more recreation
I had an upsetting experience with Sonoran Science Academy East. Somebody named Anastasia called me on a Thursday, and asked if I would interview for K-8 counselor. When I agreed, she asked if I consented to late night texts for coordination purposes. After 9 p.m. She asked me to come in the next Monday morning, then the next night (Friday), also after 9 p.m, she wrote back and said don’t bother because the position was filled. I was baffled why they would even bother me on the cusp of hiring someone else, and why all the frenetic late night nonsense. I wouldn’t trust this school with my son’s education. There are better options for competence and professionalism.
The only teachers I like is Mr. Williams and Ms. K. I don’t really like the food I use to have it but now I don’t because it’s disgusting bathrooms are really disgusting to it looks like they don’t clean it the floors have pads they make us run and and sit on the dirt and sometimes even on the mud and it makes my shoes dirty and creases my Air Forces?
This school is awesome! They have a field made of all new grass! They also have equipment for the kids to have fun at times we go outside to play! There are bullies but they also have three rules! The rules are to be Respectful, Responsible, and Kind. You can get in trouble if you never follow the rules.
